there’s new year sale at rough trade going on, some of the titles are pretty well known 

I am a bit partial (since I own LTO) but in our hood (east village, manhattan) you can hit four more different record stores.  there's Turntable Lab (lots of new stuff, great hip hop selection and have some cool store exclusives, no used tho.), there's us (down the street from ttl)... then Academy 12th street (it's a good shop that have some cool used stuff but sometimes it'll be hit or miss to find something you're looking for..),  Stranded Records (which used to be Good Records but changed owners)..  they're good for like soul, hip hop, world and some other rock but not a ton of used contemporary.  and then there's A1, this is definitely a great place to find a real gem however, they don't really take care of their stock and you're definitely going to have to get on your hands and knees to find some good stuff.  (I bought a misfits record from them for my collection like five years ago, it cost me 80 dols and it was on the wall without a sleeve on it..).  and it sounds like you know about us..  so thanks for that.
 
Brooklyn has some great spots..  but one place I didn't see mentioned recently was Material World (used to be Heaven St.)..  they have some awesome punk / metal and underground stuff,.  Also Brooklyn Record Exchange is new and is co owned by some people who used to run CoOp 87 back in the day.  (he was also in the screamo band Funeral Diner)...  however I don't see them getting lots of newer contemporary used in either..  but to go there once and awhile, you're bound to find some awesome shit for cheap.

after postage + packaging (and they use good mailers), it's probably more like $1.50. lots of spilled milk to cry about still, i'm sure.

considering their manager's recent tweet thread decrying customers choosing media mail for non-media orders (costing mwY considerable money), i imagine the modest price hike is to help them offset the cost of past & future customers taking advantage of them offering media mail in the first place.

Thanks so much for the info! Trna is a new band for me, but been listening them all week.  Ordered the re-press and decided destroy my bank account and got  "Lose Yourself to Find Peace" also.
 
Here in Finland it's the darkest time of the year and this is the perfect music for it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  Just a couple things!  If you haven't seen the A Thousand Arms thread, starting tomorrow everything is 30% off!  That includes new represses for Babel, Earthcult, as well as the Tukor release from Torz (post-rock literally recorded IN A CAVE) in addition to the new releases from Pray For Sound and Kokomo   My wallet already hurts.    
 
secondly, some personal business.  Mouth of the Architect - The Ties that Blind.  Do I want the OG mix or the remaster?  I love this album, and I need it.  But TL is now out of the repress, so it's off to Discogs...

As promised, I'm bumping the thread with an update.  This was waiting for me on my doorstep today.  I know the shipping was a doozy but all copies arrived in a tank of a box, which was then bubble wrapped and housed inside of another box with additional padding.  As a result, all copies appear to be pristine.  They were shipped with the records wedged inside the gatefold, so no seam splits.  Haven't looked at the variants yet but presentation wise, they're a beauty.  I think everyone will be very pleased.
 
Conveniently enough I have tomorrow off by chance, so I'll be packing all these up tonight and getting them out tomorrow morning.  I'll be skipping town and busy over the weekend, so tracking numbers may be a little slow.  But please know that your copies will all be en route as of tomorrow morning.

If you haven’t checked out Sisters Of, they’ve got an LP and an EP that are worth your time.  They were put on my radar because Aaron Coker (of Appleseed Cast fame), but the project has become its own animal and I’m into it.

I don't believe that these come factory sealed, but I could be wrong.  Assuming they're not, I was going to go ahead and remove the vinyl itself to avoid seam splits.
 
All of our copies are US-bound as of early this morning.  I have a tracking number I'll be using to keep an eye on them.

Alright, that eCheck finally cleared this morning.  Rejoice, friends.  Total payment has already been sent so now we just play the waiting game while anticipating Elusive’s mega-mailer.  Individual mailers to you guys have already been designated and labeled appropriately.  I’ll be keeping you guys updated but I’m happy to say the ball is officially rolling once again.
