If it’s an album you truly *forgot* how great it was, shouldn’t this thread be empty?
You have to remember it's great again and then post it here!

Got my splatter copy and it sounds great! Super stoked to finally have this

Love that the brooklyn vegan one is less limited, less interesting variant, and $8 more before shipping.
Right? Ridiculous! But I know people have been waiting on this for a while, figured I'd mention it.

Right on. I have a black OG, but it's nice to finish off the colored collection.

Shucks. Would have lived a cokebottle with splatter, got a split instead. Oh well!

Pretty happy. Ended up with everything I wanted, though I had to order The Dismemberment Plan and probably overpaid by about $5.
Ended up with the Beach House EP, The Sword, Magnetic Fields, RZA, Frances the Mute, and a discounted copy of the newest Cloud Nothings - Attack On Memory reissue. Plus of course the ordered Dismemberment Plan.

Wow. Thought I waited long enough to miss the crowd, but there is still a huge line right now. 4 hours after opening. Jeez.

What issues did the older pressings have? I bought an older GM pressing months ago but haven't listened yet
The 2017 press had a little bit cut off Fatally Yours, and a number of then sound...less than great. I've got the 2017 and it doesn't bother me too much, but a good pressing would be great.

I wonder if Fatally Yours will still be fucked up on this press?
These are the kind of questions I'm asking myself about this and the 2×10" Good Mourning. Did they fix the issues that older presses had with cut off bits of songs and things?

I will agree I was confused by the lack of green in the first one. It was so close to the cover art, but still not quite. Either way, I think they're both ugly as shit, but whatever.
I'm just really glad that A) they repressed everything and b) plan to keep the blackish one in print for awhile.
You of course ordered one of the open POs as well, I assume? Cancelled my trans black for the open PO as a second copy. 😀

They’re skipping California completely so couldn’t go if I wanted. Maybe they have another tour to announce instead?
Also, am I the only one not digging the song immediately? It kinda seemed like generic parts of ETID and DEP slapped together. I kinda like some moments of calm in my ETID songs. This one was kinda go-go-go. I kinda spaced out and wanted it over half way.
Nah, you're not the only one. Didn't want to harsh anyone's vibe/go against the circle jerk 😅

This is hilarious for a number of reasons.

You usually don’t need it to identify a pressing, but if it’s an album that’s been pressed a lot over the years then it may have multiple pressings that require using the matrix to identify the exact pressing. I wouldn’t make it a unique field of the database, but would drop it in the notes if needed.
To add on to this, yeah while you may never have reason to identify a pressing just for yourself, it's good information to know for a few reasons:
1) If you're going to sell it, you should be able to tell what pressing it is.
2) For insurance purposes. I just use discogs as a catalogue of my records, but I make sure to always choose the correct pressing so if something happens I get the correct amount of money to replace it. It would suck to have a hard to find original pressing of a record, lose it in a fire and only get reimbursed for the most recent $20 pressing because you didn't catalogue the matrix, especially if the original sounds significantly better.

The discord we already have set up for this board:

I think the biggest issue is that no one actually involved with the running of the board is on any of these discords. There needs to be a way to contact them when there are issues, as I don't think anyone is even checking in more than once a week to see if the boards are up and running.

AC/DC and Ozzy were the deciding factors for me. Who knows if they'll play again and really who knows if Ozzy will make it. I just figured ya only live once and I would regret not going.
I saw Sabbath on their last tour, saw Maiden last time they came through, and if I can get over some stupid mental shit I'll be seeing The Cure for the same reasons.

I do keep a spreadsheet too with fields:
Band /Title /Format (7", 10", LP, TP, CD etc.) / #pressed if known/ weight and color variant - the longest field for descriptions / price paid / date ordered/ date arrived / shipping cost / taxes or discount / Condition / If numbered #3/200 / Miscellaneous notes (group buy, autographed, trade for/with, etc.)
While I can understand keeping a local database, discogs works fine for me. You can even customize fields and make notes. I keep track of what is signed that way.
I recently started categorizing them in folders by genre like my collection is too.

I'll have to give it a listen. This is another one I've heard people talk about before but never really given a chance.

I've never had any issues posting new stuff on discogs and I've made a few entries.
If you make a correction to an entry it has to have a note as to why the correction was made and people usually just throw in a quick explanation which I guess could come off rude? It's never bothered me though unless someone makes a "correction" that is actually inaccurate.
