watchtower41 got a reaction from doomczar in Black Friday Record Store Day 2014
Here is what my favorite record store just posted about their new RSDBF disclaimer:

Laurie's Planet of Sound in Chicago IL

As a faithful supporter and customer of this store year round, I feel completely taken for granted as a consumer. What really ticked me off was the comment about these Record Store Day holidays tending to discourage their "regular" customers. I guess the people that shop on RSD and otherwise the rest of the year at this store are chop liver.

There is 363 other days to go into an independent record store and go through every crate they have looking for a hidden gem, sell your used media, talk with the employees ect.

Laurie's has the right to do whatever they want on Black Friday or Record Store Day for that matter. This is considered one of the most popular record stores in Chicago. In April RSD, the line to get into the store at opening was close to 1000 deep. I have NO problem if they don't want to participate, but then the store shouldn't be recognized as a RSD  supporter or vendor. Their RSD process has always been super smooth and very organized. I've never seen any shouting, fighting, bickering, claiming, ect. Assholes is the last type of person this store has to worry about.

Granted, this holiday (RSD) has lost some of the true spirit that made this so special for all of us collectors to head to our favorite store and get some special released gems to add to our collection, but to throw all their normal customers under the bus just because they want to "take it easy" seems like a very lame excuse. It's not like I would try to report them to RSD or anything, thankfully there are other options in Chicago.

DMB has had a long history of disappointing it's fans. At least 14 years worth of history.

Goofy Movie isn't even popular enough to get Blu-ray treatment, let alone vinyl. I'd say there is 0% chance Disney would want or look to press that soundtrack.

I could definitely see Toy Story with the recent buzz around the 4th installment coming in 2017. Big Hero Six has a 7" single that you can get with pre-order bundle, not sure the whole soundtrack would get the vinyl treatment at this point. Monsters Inc and UP would also make a lot of sense, both have GREAT soundtracks that are featured in Disney Parks. Non-Pixar titles, I could see Sleeping Beauty or Maleificent with their recent popularity.

Are all you Goofy Movie fans under the age of 30? Because that would explain alot. Not in a derogatory way, but that you were obviously really young when it came it so there is some sentimentality there. I don't even remember the film and I was surprised to learn it was a theatrical release, because it seems like a direct to video release.

Zavvi is notorious (at least with their Steelbooks) to re-stock OOS items. For those of you who missed out, keep an eye on this, especially around a week or two prior to release date. Usually they'll offer cancelled and unsuccessful orders closer to release date...

The only other Jack White concert I would have preferred to Bonnaroo was his first night in Chicago this year, but that's because I was at that show. Damn fine Vault package.

The swapping of the eye on the "lollipop" one is kinda annoying, but they're pretty cool lookin'.
