  1. I've been indoors since last Tuesday and all I'm doing is listening to Code Orange and going a bit stir crazy, so I may just go on a bargain hunt. Banquet have added more £5 titles to their sale! https://www.banquetrecords.com/search?t=Sale&w=24 Some sweet RSD '19 stuff in there, and a bunch of Banquet exclusive variants too. Stay safe and well gang, and please do not go to Stereophonics arena gigs (this is a general rule, not just a Covid thing).
  2. Long time no posts (have the deals really dried up of late? Feels like it), but both Zavvi exclusive Yo Gabba Gabba LPs are under £7: https://www.zavvi.com/elysium.search?search=yo+gabba There's usually other discount codes for Zavvi knocking around, so I'm confident you can get another 10% off on top with very little effort.
  3. HMV have changed it up this year: 20% off all vinyl in store. Not selected titles, literally everything, even stuff that's already marked down, even tomorrow's new releases, no exceptions. Pretty good!
  4. I really like Freedom, but I could listen to Refused throw shit at the wall all day and not care whether any of it sticks. 'It sounds like the Foo Fighters!' No, it really, truly, does not.
  5. So that's the Blue album on pink vinyl, Blue Train on green vinyl, and I think Kind Of Blue on orange? I hope the new Canadian owners are better at matching stuff. (looks almost certain that Mike Ashley isn't getting his grubby hands on the place, which is great)
  6. HMV haven't 'bitten the dust' quite yet, there's twenty interested parties who have signed NDAs and the deadline for bids is midnight Wednesday. I imagine they'll either get bailed out by the labels/suppliers, or someone will buy them out and streamline the company some more. The online sale is just standard January sale stuff, nothing's going to be outrageously discounted unless they properly shut down.
  7. https://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=464042 I think this one was listed for £40, which is what, $55-ish? I would very much like one. Best cover art (when spelt correctly).
  8. I've used WR on various occasions, never had an issue.
  9. Skipped this due to the UK shipping being crazy. Interested to see what other variants follow, hopefully some of which make their way to EU distributors.
  10. Blurgh, I want it but the intl shipping is basically the same cost as the record. I have The Big Dirty on a kinda purple leopard skin variant, big fan of that.
  11. This album is great. I think I must have a totally different perception of what constitutes 'Dad rock' to other people.
  12. I haven't checked in much with Thrice since the Alchemy Index, but I'm loving everything about this new one. I think it's probably taken me about as long to be at peace with the lack of rad metal riffs.
  13. Northern Lights is a banger. Gold Rush feels slightly better coming in after Summer Years, but it's still feels like a half-assed Beck/Eels pastiche. Near/Far gets closer to Postal Service territory than any other Death Cab song I can think of. Ben definitely writes differently on a Mustang than thicker necked guitars. Overall it's fine, definitely misses that dash of weirdness that Walla brought though, and I'm still not convinced this band needed a full time keys player.
  14. Yeah, that was an incredible time for Vagrant. They're still putting out great stuff since they diversified, but that was a proper golden era.
  15. Defeater's Abandoned for under £6 is a good deal: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B011DF2PPS/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_11?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
  16. The album cover instantly made me think of You Blew It!'s Abendrot.
  17. Just got back from the Scala, it was OK. My first time seeing them post-Walla, and I'm not sure they benefit from the seven layers of keyboard soup that every song now gets enveloped in. Slightly strange set, Movie Script Ending was fantastic and it was nice hearing some other old tracks, but if you're going to play three songs off Codes & Keys then one of them had better fucking be Underneath the Sycamore. Still, Jason McGerr is a monster drummer and those offset Fano guitars Dave Depper plays are beautiful.
  18. I can totally hear that in my head as an Eels song. Not a particular one, but I can just imagine E singing it.
  19. You beautiful genius! If we're doing miracles I'd quite like that Death Cab live album from like 4 RSD's ago
  20. Crash just emailed me to say that actually, no, I don't have a copy of RTJ. So again, if anyone knows of one going, or has a spare, then please let me know.
  21. I totally forgot about Juno (I'm used to buying studio stuff from them), and I just got Springsteen there. Thanks!
  22. If anyone in the UK ends up with a 'spare' RTJ box, I would love to hear from you.
  23. I wasn't very fond of either of these albums but was blown away by Romance Is Boring, so I'm tempted to go back and give these another try.
