  1. I've basically given up on buying records for the moment as the prices are just silly now (also I have a serious problem with buying too many guitar pedals), so this thread is keeping me going. Great work everyone, the last few finds have been brilliant.
  2. Ha, same! Maybe we should've all ordered the CD version to begin with, they might have sent the record.
  3. Music Magpie just refunded me with a short apology email. Sigh.
  4. AWESOME. Thanks so much for the heads up!
  5. I know this makes me sound desperately old, but I'm actually finding this album a little too frantic in places. Since Ratboy left the songwriting's gotten a bit more ragged, which I guess was always going to happen once the doors to double time punk drums were reopened. The euro pressing really does sound great though! Oh, I will say that lyrically this is definitely Keith's best since TBD, I like the little references to previous albums especially.
  6. Los Angeles reminds me a lot of something late-period Gob would have done.
  7. Really enjoying this, no problems on my white copy although I'll agree with everyone who's said the records feel flimsy. Shame the parental advisory is on the artwork itself and not the cellophane, but I'm not gonna get all Devil & God about it.
  8. ...I think you may have just changed my life.
  9. 'It sounds like Foo Fighters' is just shorthand for 'I don't like it', apparently. People said it about the last Refused record too despite the lack of any resemblance to Dave Grohl's Diminishing Returns.
  10. Sound of Vinyl have refreshed their 2 for £25 selection, some good stuff to be found: https://thesoundofvinyl.com/*/2-FOR-25/
  11. The chorus is a bit close to the verse melody from Offspring's Staring at the Sun but it's still great. Seconding the international disappointment, this went on sale and sold out while I was asleep.
  12. Worked with these guys a couple years back, nicest guys you could hope to meet. Definitely getting this.
  13. Saved £62 off a turntable, very happy with that!
  14. Genuinely had no idea people hated Hebrews, I really like that album. Love the Tiny Moving Parts guitarist, glad he's on this.
  15. I've got all but the live LP, and I can't imagine listening to that more than once. The live DVD commentary on the other hand is absolutely incredible.
  16. My bad, totally forgot to come back to this. Titles are £9.99 all weekend: Amy Winehouse - Back to Black Led Zep - Houses of the Holy & IV Nirvana - Unplugged Smiths - Meat Is Murder NWA - Straight Outta Compton Iron Maiden - the one with the thing on the cover and skulls and stuff Coldplay - Rush of Blood Michael Jackson - Bad (picture disc) Pulp Fiction OST Clash - London Calling Daft Punk - Live 1997 Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell Mumford & Sons - Wilder Mind Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
  17. Seems like that Cash box is that price everywhere this week, https://www.recordstore.co.uk/recordstore/recordstore/American-Recordings/4E8M0000000
  18. Load of 'classic' albums in the HMV Black Friday sale next weekend, I'll post a comprehensive list when I can. All £9.99 though, Nirvana, the Clash, Smiths etc.
  19. Excellent 2 for £15 at www.thesoundofvinyl.com, with a 2 for £25 on what I think are double LPs too.
