I only paid $23 because it's a side sub for me.  Maybe that's why I'm slightly less outraged.

I post there more than I do here, so I am definitely a part of the VMP forums but I don't wade into the member specific stuff much. Outside of certain threads which encourage certain behaviors, it's a pretty enjoyable place to discuss movies, music, vinyl, sports, etc. They go hard after the staff and company but, overall, they're pretty nice to each other. People don't get in flame wars with each other and very few people do the hardcore tough guy stuff. The extreme stuff, which is pretty accurately reflected in the post you're quoting, is more sweet, innocent, silly passion stuff than hate-speech-ish, aggressive, toxicity stuff, the latter of which is more cringe-worthy to me personally.

To me, AM is just so un-interesting.   It's got some good songs on it but i don't really dig the sound they were going for.  Some of the songs are just flat out boring.

I've only watched the first episode so far.  Didn't get to watch this past week's yet.  I really liked the premier.  It was a lot more thrilling than last season.  

I think "Half Light" is excellent. I just prefer "Mother And Child Divided" between the two and think it flows better with "So Called Friend" which would be the preceding track.
 
I tell you what, that's not a terrible idea in of itself. But what kills this particular song for me is the tempo. PT sounds awkward and feels uncomfortable at this type of fast tempo. I personally think the fastest they should go is something like "Arriving Somewhere..." or the title tracks to either Deadwing or Fear Of A Blank Planet-all three are relatively fast, but a bit slower than "...Master Tape". It just feels weird when they tried to play fast tempo material, at least to my ears, and "...Master Tape" might work a lot better 10-15 BPMs slower.
Of course, I am talking of the "band" albums, as there is faster tempo stuff on the early "solo" albums (think "Linton Samuel Dawson") that works because it fits with the psych/krautrock pastiche vibe of those records.

I think Pop sounds great.  The production on this album was never great but this is the best that I've heard it sound.

Truth.  I was a senior in college during all the Arctic Monkeys hype.  I actually wrote a paper about it.  

Regardless of their overall quality, AM are notable for being the first band to blow up & go full-stadium off the internet, especially MySpace in their case: Discuss.

You might want to email info just to make sure.  I'm not sure how it works now but it used to be if you signed up after the 15th you would get the next month's album as your first one.    I know a lot has changed with them since then, but when I signed up for MMJ it said I was getting Badbadnotgood as my first one.  I emailed them to find out and they said MMJ would be my first one.

Apparently a mock-up leaked and April's album looks to be Arctic Monkeys "Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not."

Yeah, but at the rate people seem to be talking about Swapping on the VMP forums I think it's a pretty safe assumption that there will be leftovers.  

Those swaps will be canceled once they release the true story of how Beach House were a forgotten 1970s band from a small farm in rural England and how these recordings were actually protest songs against the King and Queen that were banned and confiscated and then thought to be lost in the Buckingham basement flood of 1992.
