  1. Wasn't even aware of that naked cover, that's pretty sweet. Was expecting to see this at $44.99 or something like that. Still debating, not stoked about the colour either. EDIT: Looked up the naked lady cover on discogs $150 for a Good copy 5,000 Euro for a Mint copy. lolz
  2. I feel like none of the their releases have had any variants except for the EATT coke bottle green. I'm still pretty interested in the Infinite Arms box, specifically for the prints, but I can't find any good pictures of them to decide to make the purchase. I didn't get into Mirage Rock that much, but I think it was alright, a little more country/folky
  3. haha I still use crates, but now that I'm past 400 records I'm looking into other options. I prefer flipping through records, but they just take up too much space. Haven't really had any problems until I stored my records with my parents when I went to college and came home to find they had stacked them three high. Ugh.
  4. Thank you! That's kind of what I figured. I'm looking forward to doing some deep cleaning especially on those old record store/thrift store gems. I've been avoiding subjecting my needle to some of those.
  5. Do you have to use a solution when vacuum/RCMing records? Does the solution get more of the deeper gunk out? The only reason I ask is I just ordered a Record Doctor and feel like the solution may start to get expensive after a while. Thanks!
  6. Ahh thanks. Also, I was wrong, the kompact site doesn't say its 140g it just says it's not 180g
  7. Slightly off topic.. but I was curious as to how picture discs were made. I always thought it was something like a lathe that cut a disc with the picture already on it. If anyone is curious here's a video, (but you may want to mute it or turn down the volume.) I personally don't own any pic discs as they have just not been all that appealing to me, especially sound quality-wise.
  8. Wellp, didn't jump on the splatter and it looks like now its gone, but there is a note on the Kompact website that the splatter is indeed 140g. Is it purely black and white? The photo on discogs looks purple-ish? or is that just the lighting?
  9. Also, FWIW, its sounds like the Record Doctor is very loud as well
  10. I've been looking at RCMs lately too and I'm thinking going with the RDV. There's lots of good reviews and one advantage to this system is It uses downward suction as oppose to upward suction. Also there is no platter touching the actual surface of the record so your not getting the dust from the dirty side onto the clean side when you flip it.
  11. I just bought a Carbon about a month and a half ago and I am very satisfied. The only issue I (and many others) have had is the grounding issue/hum, most everyone says this can be resolved by buying a new set of RCAs. Mine just kind of went away so IDK
  12. Just got an email from Newbury that they are offering 30% off all items tomorrow, one day only. No promo code required.
  13. At first I was all 'don't tell me how to live my life I'll listen to the leak if I want' but the version I heard does kind of sounds like it was recorded with a toaster. I agree this album is all over the place. Not a whole lot stood out, some of the songs feel like they're just following some type of pattern. Definitely keeping an open mind until I can listen to a HQ version though.
  14. umm... so where could one find these leaks? Someone who is not me maybe interested
  15. Gatefold 2LP, pre-order is for a strictly limited coloured vinyl edition I think all POs are coloured
  16. Hell yeah! The new single sounds a lot more minimalistic and less dark. If someone were to play it I probably wouldn't have guessed it was Andy Stott. Luxury Problems is what got me hooked, but 'We Stay Together' is almost as good in my opinion albeit shorter. I'm not a huge fan of 'Passed Me By', but Execution is one of his best tracks. 'Faith In Strangers' took me a few listens, but I love it. Andy Stott has such an awesome, unique sound and I will definitely PO. All of the vinyl releases I have are on clear and they all sound amazing.
  17. I too am pretty surprised. It seems likes labels/distributors are much better at keeping releases from leaking. They're probably just more vigilant about tracking down where the leak came from and dealing with it.
  18. Good lookin' out! I've been looking for a reasonably priced copy of this for a while.
  19. Available on Amazon - $23.99 Prime. No mention as to whether it's the variant or not. http://www.amazon.com/Follower-Field/dp/B01BI05J2O/ref=sr_1_1_twi_lp__2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1458335836&sr=1-1&keywords=the+field
  20. Zero defects, total quality management, Kaizen... this is why Toyota and many other Japanese companies are so successful. Edit: Forgot Six Sigma
  21. The Carrie & Lowell clear was also limited to 10,000 and sold out fairly quick, granted that was an entire new album.
  22. White Pony + Red Variant = RED HORSE? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapid_Engineer_Deployable_Heavy_Operational_Repair_Squadron_Engineers
