  1. bigbruise's list is backed. A few of those bands are on Exploding in Sound, which has a solid roster rooted in fuzzy indie.
  2. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I believe that having just two dimensions can allow for a more nuanced experience, and that the fighting genre is wholly separate from the action games you mentioned. Also, Power Stone is three dimensional.
  3. Have you played Marvel vs. Capcom 2? It came out in the 3d generation and it pretty universally regarded as one of the best, if not the best, fighting game of all time. Tekken and Soul Caliber are also very good series. Power Stone was fun, and unique to boot. It's kind of like a hybrid between a standard fighter and an action rpg. Check them out if you haven't. Speaking of fighting games, does anyone remember Ehrgeiz? I must have rented that game 5 times.
  4. I'm catching up on Raw. RVD is looking pretty winded.
  5. A severe overestimation of solid bros has occurred here.
  6. This is a cool lineup. Hopefully Weekend Nachos tours down and plays in Gainesville.
  7. I never knew any that, Dave. I did know that he was pretty universally disliked by the locker room, and that he never really was 'one of the guys'. I'm on the fence as to whether that changes my thoughts on him being inducted though. While I've never really cared about his matches or his character, I recognize that he is iconic. It sucks that he was such a chode but at the same time, it seems unfair for the WWE to not be able to celebrate one of their most recognizable characters because the man playing him co-opted the persona and tainted it.
  8. I haven't spent much time in SC. In NC, Wilmington is probably worth a day trip, though there isn't a ton to do, it's pleasant enough just to walk around, grab some lunch, and stop in some shops. Definitely hit up Asheville. It's one of my favorite cities in the country. I can't remember the name but there's a pretty nice state park about a half hour south with a natural water slide and some other cool stuff to see.
  9. In your opinion, is Goat Sim worth the $10? It looks pretty fun but I don't wanna get it unless I can get at least a few hours of enjoyment out of it.
  10. RIP. I'm glad he was able to make peace with the WWE before he passed.
  11. I'm guessing he announces he is retiring but not until a rematch at the next ppv, so he doesn't go out on a loss. The booking was pretty great last night. I really would have liked to see Wyatt win or Cena turn into a monster. Cena turning heel would obviously be huge, but losing because of he refused to get brutal would have been compelling as well. The Shield match being such a squash kinda stunk but I really didn't care about that match too much. Raw tonight should be amazing.
  12. DDP is a great human. I know he didn't do a ton when he was in the WWE but it would have been nice to see him inducted with Hall and Roberts.
  13. Jesus. I feel like a dumbass. It was just the monitor. It's not a function I ever use so I didn't even pay attention to that dial. Thanks for all of the help. I hate the speaker inputs on this thing but otherwise I'm liking it a lot.
  14. It happens on all channels, including the radio tuner which is an internal component.
  15. Hi. I just picked up an MCS 3233 and tried to get it all set up. Everything powers up and sound comes out but it outputs a nearly inaudible volume, even with the the volume dial maxed. This is the case with with the built-in radio channel as well, so I don't think it's an external connection problem. The speakers were working fine with my old receiver earlier today, so that isn't the problem either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Do you guys think Austin is actually going to have an important role this weekend, or is he just going to pop in and say something like, "Austin 3:16 says Yes! Yes! Yes!"? It would be incredible if he reffed the Triple H/Bryan match. Also, does anyone think there is any chance of the battle royal coming down to Goldust and Cody? I'd be interested to see how that played out.
  17. After the Raw taping I went to in Orlando, Triple H came out and just started straight up heckling the audience, throwing out general insults, as well as calling individuals fat and ugly. It was pretty brutal.
  18. I figured I'd share this since Bryan's merch sales were discussed here pretty recently. TL;DR he is second in sales at events and third online. Not bad for a dude that has cumulatively held the WWE Championship for less than a day. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1991258-wwe-news-daniel-bryans-merchandise-sales-confirm-hes-an-a-player
  19. The Workaholics one was definitely my favorite so far. The David Cross one was weird. I like David Cross but I felt like he was a terrible choice for the show.
  20. I'm going to watch Wrestlemania X today while I have my first go at building a Magic the Gathering cube.
  21. I'm sorry to junk up your thread with newbie talk, but I recently started getting into jazz. Kind of Blue was my jumping off point, and I've branched off from there. I really like Bill Evans' work from around the same period. I'm more into Cannonball's playing on the record than Coltrane's. If any of this is useful knowledge, some suggestions would be appreciated. Also, if anyone wants to sell me a cheap copy of Kind of Blue, PM me! Thanks.
  22. Good on you, dude! I quit a job that was becoming miserable about 9 months ago and haven't regretted it a bit since. It wasn't the worst job in the world but it was extremely dull and repetitive, some of my coworkers were becoming irritating, and my boss was an unrelenting egoist. I'm 25, and after leaving that job I'm the happiest I've been with life since I graduated high school. I've always thought it was strange that friends of mine stayed extended periods of time at jobs they hated. It might be a bit of work to figure something else out but being content with work is such a huge factor in overall happiness with life. I did work at a grocery store once that I quit after a month. Hired me as a part time employee with no benefits, they scheduled me for 40 hours a week starting the first week but I ended up working about 50-55 hours per week as they would schedule me til 11 PM and keep me there til 2-4 AM every shift. After a few spats with management, they scheduled me for a 4 am shift (I usually worked noon or 2 PM til 2 AM) and I was so cranky when I went in that I just told them not to schedule me next week or ever.
  23. Can someone please make a list of all bands that are off limits to talk about in this thread? I don't want to accidentally look like an untrue punk.
