  1. I'm into that song. I'll definitely be checking out the whole record when released.
  2. Hey Gumbo, if you are still interested in a working copy of Giants - Old Stories, you can get it from the label (cavity records) for like $14. Two different variants, 2nd press.
  3. I'm looking forward to this, thought her last one was a top ten album of the year candidate. Will be an easy purchase for me. I imagine it will be on sergeant house again.
  4. Finally had a chance to have a proper sit down with this record. I was with you until 'The Reverie II' came on. Damn, this record is good.
  5. Really? Bossk's first two albums (.1 & .2) are almost completely instrumental. When his voice finally cuts in it creates an awesome feel. Just like you said for Audio Noir: Nice write up though. I get mine on Friday, looking forward to it because I love this band and everything they've done.
  6. A japanese website has a cd with a red cover available here: http://wardrecords.com/SHOP/GQCS90125.html Not sure if there will be a record edition with that cover. I think it's a cd because that is what google translation says. But, I'm posting it because there looks to be an extra japanese exclusive song.
  7. Just wanted to say that I really like this record. I keep finding myself going back for another listen.
  8. Way different than their stuff from years ago (.1 and .2) but I think its great. I've been opening Bossk's twitter and facebook pages almost daily since December waiting for the pre-order to go up.
  9. Been waiting for this for a long long time. Bought immediately.
  10. It's my most anticipated release of the year, easy. I loved the new tunes that you shared. RC is on another level for me so I'm following their updates very closely. Cook's bass tone is phenomenal. One of the best drummers I've ever seen. And I'm not sure I have the adjectives to describe Sullivan's writing. I'm sad I don't live in the states anymore, I would have loved to have made it to one of their recent shows. Probably one of the few bands I'd spend money on a test.
  11. New test presses? Does that mean new plates and new mastering?
  12. Thanks for your thoughts Derek. While I generally agree with you. I'd like to point out one difference. I do think that each song individually isn't anything ground breaking, and maybe even formulaic. I, however, would argue that as a whole this album isn't formulaic. It is greater than the sum of its parts. For instance, the opening track with female vocals makes us look at the album cover to ensure that we are listening the correct band (this in itself made it unique). That juxtaposed with the only other song with vocals, the second to last song, which is hellacious. I did a double take when that happened. The use of samples is almost over done but it works for me (which is saying something because I generally dislike samples due to the overuse of samples in 90's hardcore). I feel that Kokomo did a compelling job of combining the dark shoegaze from their s/t release with a new heavier riffage that is interwoven throughout (e.g. Licht/Staub). In the end for me, this record denotes a musical adventure into the heavier side of things for Kokomo, because of that, I already like it much more than their last releases. Throughout the whole record I find myself just agreeing with it. Saying silently to myself "yeah", "yeah". With that, I foresee that this will be a constant fixture in my rotation for a long time. Take my thoughts with a grain of salt because I have never found interest in If Wolves but loved s/t. I know lots of people here love the If Wolves record.
  13. Glad I could help! I'm super curious to know what everyone thinks.
  14. I'll put up the 320 and link it to y'all via private message. I can do the FLAC when I get home.
  15. Glad they sent out an early download code because.... Holy moly! This record frickin' rips. Unrelenting. Easily my favorite Kokomo record.
  16. Interesting, I'll make IV a priority this week. I mean, I already like it but I would be pumped if I liked it more. There is a brass instrument part that doesn't sit well with me and I've had a difficult time getting around that to really warm up to the record as a whole. Everytime that comes on, I just give a big eye roll to myself.
  17. Wow, I is my favorite. Love it all though, especially the first 3.
  18. I need to say I've been listening to the new fourteen nights at see and I'm liking it more and more. Such a good mood setter. Might have to splurge for the vinyl.
  19. Nah, I'm still waiting too but I'm in Aus. My package made a strange "terminal" stop in Germany, I sent DHL a message asking about it.
