there aren't a ton of options in Vancouver but there are a few pretty good stores: Neptoon & Red Cat are the best and they're in the same general area. You might run into Nardwuar at Neptoon. Zulu used to be pretty good but it seems like the store was shrunk to half the size it used to be since covid. Audiopile (not audiophile) was alright but I haven't been there in years. Beat Street is good for hiphop stuff. Elevated Music is a pretty new store in Colverdale, but that's a bit of a drive out of Vancouver.
avoid: Vinyl Records. overpriced and the staff are asses.

dammit they don't sell it without the bottle of gin so they won't ship outside the US. can't use my reshipper either unless I tell them to toss the gin.

That's priced worse when I heard Soul Blind for the first time at an Angel Du$t show, bought a record for $20 and then found it was a three song EP.

I sure hope this means that they will be touring. Such a kick ass band to see live.
if they do a reunion I hope they pull The Red Light Sting back out with them. As far as I know Jordan is still married to Zoe, the shows with both of them were always super fun.

i went for the epitaph varient since I saw the email first. I have everything on CD but only young machetes on vinyl, I never got around to getting any of the represses and they're usually too expensive for resale. glad I can finally get this.

i dunno, I'm a fan of BBNG and I dig it. it's definitely not needed, but I see this more as a BBNG release, that's what they do, reinterpret music they like. I would be surprised if turnstile did anything more than supply the vocal stems.

I missed the exclusive but grabbed the splatter for Too Late No Friends, I was listening to that just a couple days ago. I'm a old\local that used to catch them at rec centers and Tom and Theo would show up to random shows at The Java Joint and fuck with the board & jump on stage during other bands sets in the 90s.

as much as I love this album, it's not a love that will pay $37US for shipping to canada

Great, now I can look forward to pushing F5 the rest of my afternoon
get the distill web monitor chrome extension and set it to check the site every 30 seconds, it'll alert you as long as you have the browser open

that was quick, i posted right after checkout, I don't know how long it was up

I've been meaning to check if anyone else is seeing that. I've only had time to play the first record, it's definitely off center, the tonearm has a ton of side to side movement on both sides. thankfully it's not really audible. still a let down though.

got the shipping notification yesterday but it looks like it hasn't actually left the warehouse yet. I'm surprised it's shipping before the estimated date, which I think was july.

the trick is to smear in some of your own poop. it covers the termite poop and your pheromones will prevent termites and basically anyone else from touching your records.

the only one not digging the song immediately? It kinda seemed like generic parts of ETID and DEP slapped together. I kinda like some moments of calm in my ETID songs. This one was kinda go-go-go. I kinda spaced out and wanted it over half way.
I'm never really been a fan of Greg, I lost interest in DEP after he joined, and he pales in comparison to Keith over farily typical ETiD riffs. I'll have to give the song a couple more spins and see what the rest of the album is like, but I don't really feel any sort of way about the track.

Going fast, is this Blood Records biggest release yet?
I believe that's what they've said on their IG. I'm not familiar with the label

i was able to catch the restock, that fact that there even was a restock probably means that the cancelled some orders with more than two copies

I think I first noticed something seemed a little fucky when a recent Cake repress went up. Was something like $25 on the American site, then it auto redirected to Canadian and the price shot to about $40. Was like.. that conversion doesn't sound right. So I checked both sites for shipping, American was $12 or so and Canadian was $20. So greasy.
Now I always check, and it's always cheaper to not use the "convenient" Canadian site.
records are just so overpriced these days and shipping doesn't help at all. As much as I like this album, I haven't listened to it in over a decade and a single LP isn't worth $48 with another $20 shipping on top. And switching to the US site doesn't really bring it down a whole lot either. If it was $25 I'd be all over it. Can't really avoid the stupid shipping cost either way unless you have a US address.
