  1. actually the opposite is happening. over the last 10 years (especially the last 5) vinyl has become more popular and the prices of vinyl records has gone up considerably as well. to me, one of the major benefits to buying an LP versus a CD was that the LP was usually less expensive than the CD release. this is what got me into buying records in the first place. this is almost never the case anymore. oh well. as popularity grows, the prices have grown. the upside is that more and more stuff is being released, so i am not complaining.
  2. exactly. not only does this make sense in that the band and label continue to make money versus letting flippers make huge profits on ebay, but it also makes simple business sense. with the music industry "hurting" i still fail to understand why anyone releases anything as "limited". i think that the model that travis/hot topic has been using with the thrice represses as of late is brilliant. press 1000, if they sell, press 1000 more. it seems like a no brainer. people get to own records that they want, band makes money, label makes money. i suppose because i am not a variant collector it doesn't bother me to have things remain in print with the possibility that each press is a different color/package/etc. back on topic...ordered. i didn't order this the first time around, and i didn't need it, but i couldn't pass it up this time.
  3. They released "Moving Pictures : Live" just last year. Also last month there's been an unofficial RUSH ABC 1974 live record that was put out. This is true, I own both. I actually forgot about the Moving Pictures Live, however, I was referring more to the standard live releases that they have always put out (ie Live album every four studio albums, which was standard up until the last 3 studio albums). They never pressed Different Stages. Nor did they press Snakes and Arrows live, R30, Rush in Rio, and the full Time Machine 2011.
  4. True. Vapor Trail is also very hard get for a decent price. Most live albums after "A Show Of Hands" were not released on vinyl either. I don't think they pressed any live album after A Show of Hands. I have everything except for Roll the Bones, Counterparts, and Vapor Trails. I am 99% sure they never pressed Test for Echo, which is a bummer. Even thought I have almost everything I would buy a complete set in a heartbeat if they ever decided to do it.
  5. i pre-ordered this at amazon like a month ago, and for less! =)
  6. I got this email last week. I was bummed as I have been feeding our dog Taste of the Wild for the last 2 years. She loves it and has had no issues at all while on it. I am continuing to feed her the food as our current bag was not part of the recall, nor was California suppose to have even received any of the potentially tainted bags. While Diamond is not a very well respected pet food company on the whole (a lot of people don't trust them...but who the hell even trusts the companies that are supplying OUR food...everything is pretty gnarly when it comes to buying for that your didn't grow yourself) I happen to LOVE their Taste of the Wild line. It is a pretty well respected dog food. Grain-free. Pretty decent list of ingredients: Bison, lamb meal, chicken meal, egg product, sweet potatoes, peas, potatoes, canola oil, roasted bison, roasted venison, natural flavor, tomato pomace, ocean fish meal, salt, choline chloride, dried chicory root, tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries, yucca schidigera extract, dried Enterococcus faecium fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus casei fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus plantarum fermentation product, dried Trichoderma longibrachiatum fermentation extract, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, niacin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin (vitamin B2), vitamin D supplement, folic acid. There are definitely ingredients on there that are not "ideal", but they are not much worse than what many humans would eat if they consume anything that sits in a box in their pantry. Feeding raw has always intrigued me, but I just don't know if i want my dog getting raw animal flesh all over her...seems pretty messy/unsanitary for us.
  7. I have had both (currently have Directv). I would never go back to Dish. Their customer service sucks, their channels suck (they didn't have MLB network when I had them a couple years back, they might now, but I know you cannot get MLB Extra Innings with Dish). My parents have had Directv since 1995 (because of NFL Sunday ticket) and they have never complained. I have had Directv for the last two years and have no complaints.
  8. 3 charges on my credit card. Shit sandwich. Apparently the error message was wrong. I don't need 4 copies of this. Hopefully multiple buys by the same person will just get canceled/refunded. unless you got 3 confirmation emails the orders didn't actually go through. they are just temporary credit card authorizations and will drop off in a few days.
  9. $22.95 my local store had several of them for $17.99. i didn't buy one though. even at $17.99 i don't think i would end up listening to it much.

  13. I just went to look and see if there was an insert in mine, there sure is. I guess it was stuck when I pulled the record out earlier.
  14. It is NOT a gatefold, simple single jacket, no insert or anything. No Damone.
  15. just got my copy from amazon. interesting note, the sticker on the front clearly states 180g, however, this is nowhere near 180g. kind of a bummer. it does however sound fantastic.
  16. $27,500 for a house? even $100K for a house? fuck...living in the bay area is rough. we bought our first place back in june, $315K for a 2 bedroom townhouse. its modest as hell, about 25 years old, and could use some help (new furnace/ac, new windows/doors, carpet is nasty). we dumped about $4K into it when we bought it, but we are not planning on being here for more than 5 years, so we dont want to go too crazy. this was a bank owned property and overall it wasn't too bad as far as the whole process. just a bit frustrating as the bank that owned it was slow to respond, and stupid. in my opinion, i would never hire a home inspector again, but thats just me. we paid $500 for our home inspection from a guy/company that came highly recommended. he was ok i guess, but he missed shit, like a leaking toilet that had cause some nice mold damage in the master bath. i fixed it all myself, but still, $500 and you cant recognize a leaking toilet and mold??? short sales suck. we tried to get involved in them early in our search, but quickly learned that we didn't want to deal with it. we used bank of america for our mortgage. my wife works for BofA and they give some pretty good percs to their employees as far as mortgages go. take your time, try to find a place that you truly like. we kind of "settled" and we are happy overall, but i wish we would have waited until we found a HOUSE (we bought a townhouse) that fit our needs and budget.
