Not sure it's so much the want for consistency as it's the want to get these out in the market as soon as fucking possible.
I like the artwork but wish it didn't have a black vignette and instead spanned the entire cover, and I really wish Vol. 2 was different.
 
Watch the Box set feature the same design on the cover and then these same Vol. 1 & 2 covers inside.

SD show was fantastic. Crowd was into it and the band was psyched because of that. I nabbed my copy of their other album. Also Relapse was amazing and got my copy in yesterday. So I decided to take it with me and ended up with this.

 

I used to have the same problem. Other cool cats in this thread showed me the light, and I'll never look back. See ya never, big spine.

Super disappointed we got a 33rpm pressing!  Regardless, I'm listening now and has sounded great (only 1 or 2 pops so far without cleaning)!
The packaging is beautiful, although I had stickness on the back edges.  Here's how it sits with it's friends...
 
EDIT:  True Love Waits starts off terrible, tons of hiss, fuzziness and a pop here and there.

Finally opened my copy last night and I echo what everyone else has said - absolutely stunning package. I love the materials they used all around, especially for the cover and the lyric pages. I LOVE those lyric pages. As somebody that works in the printing industry I appreciated pretty much every little choice they made.
 
I have a bit of glue along the inside back edge of the back cover. A little sticky but it's fine.
 
A part of me wishes the cover wasn't treated with an overlay color, as I prefer the white, but perhaps that would have been prone to getting dirty. Still looks great and I'm a big "midnight green" fan.

Oct. 14th release? Whaaaat?
 
Regarding the thread, I'll change the title to indicate this is the place for any ST-related discussion. Because once the box set with both volumes comes, people would be all over the place.

Got the Invada aquamarine variant... Very hyped for this one.

Exactly. It's one thing to have delays beyond your control but that doesn't mean you have to suck at basic interaction & customer service.
 
These guys have no business running a label.

Sent them another email but unsurprisingly had no reply. I have zero problems with delays - these things happen - but how hard is it to keep your customers up to speed on things?! No excuse.

Still nothing... Website hasn't updated... No emails... No tweets. Pretty poor from the word go imho.

A little off-topic, but I purchased this book for my dad (for Father's Day):

It is basically a collection of the greatest Jazz covers and a bit about the artists / artwork / musicians. Really good purchase (approx. £13), would recommend it.
 
There was also an original (better) version that was 12"x12" and made to look like a set of LPs on the shelf (see pics below):
