  1. I'd like to get this. It seems awesome, though all I've heard is Into It. Over It. covering Neko Case, and it is mega bad.
  2. Remind me when it's time to start feeling bad for Lucic for someone taking a cheap shot on him.
  3. I have an original but I'm definitely stoked for this. The print will look nice with the other two.
  4. I work with a lot of kids that like terrible bands. I call them by the wrong names on purpose. "Are you guys going to see the Devils Wear Prada next time they come to town?" "Do you guys like the new Jobs for Cowboys record?"
  5. I'm trying to get decent pics of them - partially because I want to be able to accurately portray their condition online. Some have pinholes or tape marks on the back. A few do not. I'm trying to find the best way to sell these things. It's definitely a niche market, but one in which buyers will spend a lot of money. I'm a little nervous, to be honest. I'll post some pics here (another time), but the ones I've taken so far aren't that good.
  6. Ten years?! Yikes. I remember buying the CD from them at Hellfest and waiting for you guys to mail out the jewel cases.
  7. So...now I need to find the best way to sell 16 posters. Anybody have tips for photographing them? All I have is an iPhone 5.
  8. Goddamn some of you are territorial. People are as welcome to peddle their wares here as you are to ignore it. There is "valid commentary" and there is just being catty.
  9. I have a lot of prints and posters from the last 15+ years of going to shows. One of the regulars where I work knows I'm super into vinyl and Detroit music. One day he brought in a whole bunch of handbills he had collected from his childhood attending shows at the venerable Grande Ballroom, and told me he had some posters that his brother had left him. His brother was kind of a hippie who did light shows at the Grande and other venues and had pulled posters down to trade. One day he told me they were just taking up space and he should get rid of them. I asked him to please bring them by before he did so and I would make him offers. After about a year, and me telling him I may be transferred soon, he brought by a box of them. He asked me to take them home, see what they're worth, make him some offers, and we'll go from there. I knew they are valuable; there are 16 in the box and I just guessed that maybe the whole collection was roughly $1500 or so. So I'm digging through these things, taking pictures, noting conditions. A lot of them are psychedelic pieces by Gary Grimshaw, and most of them are for the Grande. Tons of MC5; a well known Big Brother and the Holding Company poster that I've seen elsewhere; a Vanilla Fudge piece that a lot of you might even recognize. Tim Buckley. One from a Flint venue advertising "the final Michigan appearance of the Jimi Hendrix Experience." One from a Doors show at Cobo Arena in 1968. I post the pictures online, and friends are asking me how much they could buy the Hendrix and Doors for, so I start looking online. There are probably $25000 worth of posters in this fucking thing. I was planning on picking out a few I really wanted and offering him $150-200 for them, and I now realize that is an incredibly insulting offer. I'm terrified to even have these in my possession any longer, much less take them to work and wait for him to come in. It was fun digging through them, but holy smokes. I'm finding auction prices approaching $7000, while I hold a nicer specimen in my hand.
  10. My wife bought tickets to the Friday show. This is going to be wild.
  11. Jordan Nolan suspended for dirty hit on Darren Helm...two games because he's a repeat offender. He got two minutes for the hit. It doesn't seem like much if they're serious about ending this kind of crap. This is why people miss old school hockey justice, for better or worse.
  12. I think I paid $22 for it. At that price, I wouldn't buy it again - unless a good pass with a brush clears it up some.
  13. Good question. I'd probably be in. I used to listen to them years ago; I've recently come to appreciate their music again.
  14. It's a touch staticy but probably just needs cleaned. I don't have a brush right now. I'm not bowled over by it, but it's not bad. It could be a little punchier but I don't have a great setup, either.
  15. The original was a 2lp. I did just purchase this, not realizing it was a pic disc. It definitely looks cool, if nothing else. I just moved and I'm hooking up my table tonight. I'll spin it and let you know of nobody else gets to it first.
  16. I want to get a Twin Peaks tattoo but I am not very skilled in visual arts. It's hard to come up with a unique idea.
  17. I got this table from a friend a while ago and recently picked up a shure M97xe cartridge for it. I have never set the table up or really used it much. It seems like a fidgety, fiddly thing to set up though. Any advice?
