  1. Camera Shy also got deleted from artists but not pulled from the store
  2. Good point, I'm not trying to minimize the actions, I just find the human psyche fascinating. That we have grown to a society where we are more willing to distance ourselves from prejudice than violence. But of course it's not a black and white situation, and repercussions have already been handled and dealt with in the Nothing situation, and 24 hours hasn't even passed in the Whirr situation. Time will tell if and how they attempt to make up for their actions.
  3. off topic slightly but I have a friend who writes a comic about a transgender superhero named Trans Cat, she has been going through an exceptionally rough patch lately, and I think what she does is awesome, there isn't really too many in the comic world approaching this subject and I think it's beautiful that she puts something into this world that people who are otherwise marginalized by society can relate to. I thought some of you may be interested to at least glance, and if you really like it you can even order physical copies of all 5 issues. http://parasomniacomics.blogspot.com/p/the-parasomnia-shop.html I know this is pretty unrelated, but after such a negative event I thought I would try to add a positive and use this discussion as a launching point for support of someone in the transgender community
  4. This is an interesting turn of events, is this the first time a band has been dropped over twitter comments? Their actions last night were very disappointing to me. I own almost 100% discography from this band, I once traveled over 3 hours round trip to see them perform.I've invested dozens maybe even hundreds of listening hours to their music and Nick's other side projects. But I would have a hard time supporting this band in the future without some kind of public apology, I seriously hope the dude gets a change of heart and learns something from this experience. He is a talented musician and it would be a shame to waste it on pride and a tough asshole internet persona. The internet really has changed the way we interact with the music scene and listen to music. Transparency has altered everything, last night was truly disgusting but there has been so many examples of poor behavior by musicians through the years, there just wasn't always the internet to generate a platform of discussion. I mean Eric Clapton publically declared that England should deport all the blacks on stage at a concert, 3 out of 4 Beatles (not Ringo) beat their wives, Miles Davis was another woman abuser and you never hear "I really love Kind Of Blue, but I just can't listen to it without seperating how he treated women". Some other food for thought, the lead singer of Nothing stabbed a guy to death and it's more concerning to some of you that the bassist made a transphobic tweet (both actions are gross, but im on the side of ending another human's life is worse than degrading another human). I'm not trying to support the actions of nick or this band, and as someone with several trans friends I am seriously bummed by their actions. I wouldn't condemn anyone for not wishing to continue supporting this band, but I really don't understand if you connected with their music why you couldn't separate artist from art at least eventually. I own music from all 3 examples of shitty humans who make good music, doesn't make me a womanizer or a racist just like listening to Whirr doesn't make me transphobic but I'm not rushing to line their pockets from this point forward.
  5. Nick really knows how to incite rage in the masses, I don't know how I feel about this one. I'm usually in support of ruffling some feathers because people are overly sensitive, but taking shots at a transgender hardcore band who doesn't even have a full length yet? Just seems kind of mean spirited, but I'm not going to unload my collection over it or anything. I'm always in support of separating artist and art
  6. already 3 cups deep by 8 am, they say people who prefer coffee black have a higher chance of being a sociopath, haha thoughts? As the Beasties say I like my sugar with my coffee and cream, I like the kick more than the flavor
  7. that bone/purple looks to be my favorite by the mockups, but the clear/pink looks pretty nice too I think i'll be happy with my latter choice
  8. "It's hard enough running an independent label so fuck off...oh and thank you g-d"
  9. Great show, I didn't care for Technicolors or Lydia but Turnover was great (wish the set lasted longer) and surpassed my expectations on Seahaven. They played pretty much half a set of both albums, plus one new song that sounded great and was like a 3 part song. Played most of my favorites off both albums, played many of the reverie lagoon interludes while they tuned and they sounded just a little different than the album making it interesting. Picked up "Peripheral Vision" it was the 3rd pink/red pressing, and a copy of "Ghost" I have trouble figuring out if it's the blue marble or the blue/white marble
  10. wow $20 isn't a ripoff for newbury, I pulled the trigger thanks
  11. can't believe clearance copies still exist it was almost $25 retail and isn't even available through RFC currently, people should take agua up on their offer it's a brilliant album
  12. super weak, if it was around $20 I'd consider it. It was a cool concept of rap and rock collabos, stand out for me was Del and Dinosaur Jr.
  13. Thanks, I don't have Ghost but I have the other 2 so I'll most likely grab that and possibly the new Turnover. Was crossing fingers for 7" or tour presses, but I'm glad there will likely be something I want.
  14. Sorry to bump but does anyone know what they and turnover have for sale on this tour? Also not a ton of extra money, but I might be able to snag 1 or 2 items for someone if they pm me
  15. Finally picked up a copy been too much good music this year so it took me awhile to get to it, I really like it. It didn't appeal as quicklly as the last one, but it's definitely a poppier direction. I don't think she can really do wrong though, this could definitely be a grower
  16. he is referring to the demo version as a bonus track, and good for him. Also funny you list MOV, cause just a year or so ago Mars Volta through a shit fit and put a cease and desist on them reissuing Deloused. It came out, but has since been deleted from the catalog (and funny enough is supposed to be the best sounding version of this album)
  17. bump, willing to take lower offers possibly going to unload some at the record store later today
  18. ordered thanks, I wasn't too big on the last 2 albums, but this sounds more like the early stuff. The package looks legit, so I couldn't help myself seems like a decent price for a double lp with all the goodies
  19. I'm sure you are right but they are going to juice the boxset first. I'm thinking it's 8 months to a year away
