CAMERA SHY - S/T LP Out on 7/14 via RFC
NapalmBrain replied to jhulud's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Feels thick, were these 180? Seems at least heavier than standard gram -
I wasn't aware thanks for filling me in. Thats a shame ive always loved his drumming for them and these arms are snakes. They sounded pretty good when I saw them, but it was the infinity overhead tour which I didn't care for. They did play a good amount from the first 3 albums and a song or two from beer commercials. Small venue too was very intimate

Sigur Rós - ágætis byrjun expanded limited edition
NapalmBrain replied to freverend's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Takk is very exciting! I've been waiting years. I just hope its a quality pressing. My agaetitis is pretty noisy even after a cleaning which usually doesn't bug me but that album has a lot of quiet passages -

Just got my deluxe edition in. I'm very excited, unfortunately I just fractured my shoulder and handling records is kind of a scary and painful notion so I probably won't spin it for a bit -
I just got one of the best deals of my life.

The pink and yellow 40 oz to freedom for 15 is my best score for percentage below value -
Hightide hotel nothing was missing SQ?
NapalmBrain replied to NapalmBrain's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
thanks it was a long shot but I was hoping for a dedicated master -
Really love this album but the digital is so loud, the guitar tones are so harsh and the drums and vocals are buried. Is the lp any better? considering picking it up thanks

still looking! -
I understand, I myself am in a similar situation but mostly just from years of working in record stores and getting insider deals/records given to me. But in the current climate many of those old dime a dozen artists have shot up in value in a physical store setting. I would marvel at how we would put out a 70s pressing of axis: bold as love or a 77 reissue of any LZ album in VG condition for $15 and it would fly off the shelf in a day, and five years ago those would sit for $6 or 7 for weeks sometimes. As a result, I now consider deals like this a score in this day and age. Thrift stores are really picked over, at least in Colorado here so the chance of getting big name rock artists seem to be getting slimmer, competition is fierce these days

.50 a piece is a pretty great deal, I wouldn't call hendrix, floyd or dylan thrift store records either. Most albums from these artists command at least $10 in any condition, unless it was the less popular stuff. But I do notice a general lack of interest in pre-90s music on these boards

I know some sites still have some for sale. But I'm unemployed right now but really want this album, would be willing to trade one of the following sealed copies of: Title Fight "Hyperview" /500 White vinyl Hot Topic Exclusive Modest Mouse "Lonesome Crowded West" Green/Red Hastings Exclusive Best Of Nicktoons Picture Disc Hot Topic Exclusive My Chemical Romance "Three Cheers" Blood Splatter Hot Topic Exclusive or I may be open to trade things in my discogs (sig below), some things are off limits but just pm me with items of interest. Also can provide feedback from other sites. Since I could use the money if anyone wants to buy any of the sealed records, I'd go $30 a piece shipped just to get some money back in my pocket. Thanks for taking the time to look

(PO Now) mewithoutYou - Pale Horses
NapalmBrain replied to fugazi's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I'd just start chronologically from "A>B Life", its pretty neat to see their progression. It's definitely got their least amount of sung vocals, so if thats bothersome you could start at CFUTF (which is the album that hooked me when it came out)- 1,208 replies

what's the most you've ever spent on a record?
NapalmBrain replied to a topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
nice I don't have any of the lance rock colored pressings. New album is a great package but my 2nd platter is slightly warped. I'd still recommend it -
Bad/Disappointing Pressings

original is ok, but wasn't a sonic wonder. Still wish I had it though, an ex took it -

probably one I won't unload, I've got that rsd one in addition to the lance rock pressing. I'm just missing the 7" splits. Good luck on your hunt -

$70 for neko case "blacklisted", Canadian shipping is expensive so I made it an even $100 and got "furnace room lullaby" too, both sealed -

Probably the best thing they have ever done, sooooo good. The clear vinyl is dead quiet and flat, GZ didn't fuck it up hurray! -

great album, but my side 2 has "no-fill" issues . I don't think its bad enough that I'll return it, but it was a less than perfect pressing. I got the beer/blue splatter -
Albums That Should Be Pressed on Vinyl
NapalmBrain replied to chutterhanban's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
From my understanding, those tapes are lost. My friend asked them why they don't play overcast songs live, and he was told they are having trouble finding them including the instrumentals Lucy Ford is, its just split across Ford 1, Ford 2 and The Lucy EP but you are right as far as a continuous compilation
