  1. more here. Into dust is outstanding and the lyrics really make the song http://www.thevirginmarys.com/site/videos
  2. Love this English band from Macclesfield (Ian Curtis would be suitably proud I am sure). Their 2013 album 'King of conflict' was my favourite new music in recent years and so I periodically check to see if it has finally got a vinyl release when I found they released Divides in May and on 45rpm 2LP. Ordered it immediately, listened to some samples and if the online reviews are even half right, it is going to brilliant. Start with their absolutley brilliant debut: And grab their new on on vinyl
  3. This fantastic sounding, well pressed 90's record. I procrastinated over the original issue or the MOV reissue but very happy I chose the original pressing. Great addition to my colection and one of my favourite 90's albums.
  4. Thats fantastic thank you, ordered! I hope this album is a good one, I love this band. When they are good nobody can touch their beautiful melodys, when they are not they are still great Just today I received Songs from Northern Britian on mint vinyl after procrastinating for so long over the price and waiting for a reissue.
  5. I would be buying as I love this band but its not clear at all how much postage would be to the UK. If its included at $45 I would buy now.
  6. Not a bad song at all. I remember reading an interview in RS with them in the 90's where they stated they were going to be the biggest band in the world. Guess that didn't go quite to plan then.
  7. Love this band. Lisa lived about 50 miles from my home town in oz. This might be a chance to fill a few gaps in my collection, they are being done by 4AD so I would expect the mastering to be spot on.
  8. Yes much darker and the actors and sets are more in fitting with the series. It was more twee which somehow made it more wickedly funny. I only watched a few episodes of the US version but it didn't hold my interest.
  9. The Conchords were brilliant in that NY made series. Loved it. Since the scope of the thread now includes the commonwealth then Wilfred from Melbourne deserves a big mention. Probably the funniest series of the last couple of decades. The crudest, nastiest, dark and of course most hilarious TV I have watched.
  10. Hello Gaurav! It would be wrong of me to say I like it more because when I sold my XL4 to you it had received little use for 2 yrs due to the rental property we were stuck in at the time. The Brinkmann however does sound utterly superb in every way, it is such a simple, elegant design but beautifully made. I am big fan of the Kuzma 4Point arm so when I saw this deck available ex dem including the optional HRS base I had to have it. You may recall I sold the XL4 as I wanted to downgrade to something simpler but I can honestly say I haven't lost anything on SQ. I suggest you try and borrow a HRS isolation base under your XL4, I reckon that is a major contributor to the incredibly solid 3d images the Brinkmann creates. Its really surprising just how well the HRS does of isolating vibration. Its easy to try for yourself - if I knock on my rack I cannot feel any vibration on the deck at all. Its really is an effective isolation system and I would now consider it an essential part of any mass loaded deck that lacks suspension like the XL4 or Brinkmans. Cheers, Simon
  11. ADAM made their name in Pro audio so nearly all of their designs are active but sadly the Tensor range is no longer made. They nearly went bankrupt about 2 yrs ago and had to scale back their ambitions somewhat hence no monster 5 way actives like mine are made anymore.
  12. Speakers are ADAM Tensor Alpha's, a German made 5 way design. Turntable is German too, a Brinkmann LaGrange. They are air motion transformers not ribbons. Sounds like you haven't heard a well engineered active system to me.
  13. ^^ nice second system made up of some of your 'spare' bits This is mine, I mainly play vinyl into active ADAM speakers.
  14. you will have to cross them pretty hard as the repress was not that long ago. GL OP, this will be a tough album to find. Not something flippers would buy into being so unknown, I reckon they mostly sold to fans of this awesome band.
  15. I weakened and bought this, aside from 2 sellers on eBay it wasn't available anywhere else and I could find no info about its release for RSD either. Thanks OP for starting this thread
  16. excellent news, I am up for this. Paul had this to say "Another sought-after and very expensive rarity will lose its value overnight, since Universal Music will reissue The Verve‘s second studio album, A Northern Soul, as a 2LP vinyl set in August. Like many long-players of this era, the 1995 album received only a very limited release on vinyl in the UK and only came out on CD and cassette in the States. The original vinyl is therefore VERY expensive on the used market." Not sure this is really the case, certainly not for the few originals I have wanted after a reissue was made available
  17. that surprises me because aside from a few copys on ebay there are none anywhere else I can find.
  18. sure was, didn't see it last night. Also ordered from Amazon Germany but not confident I will receive a copy so grabbed this one when it came up.
  19. Sounds interesting, not much around on this RSD LP issue. Guessing it is quite limited.
  20. wow, that's expensive. I love HH but didn't know they released this live LP for RSD. Will have to have a look around for this locally.
  21. Thanks for the pointer Alex. I got lucky on Discogs this morning so have ordered from a German seller. Amazing how this set has gone from freely available to having disappeared so quickly.
  22. I have missed out on this and are posting in the hope that somebody knows of a copy somewhere Amazon France sent an email today saying bad luck after 10 days, I never noticed it was on a wait time when I ordered it. Damn,
