I posted in the RSD leftovers already, but that Robert Johnson set is incredible. If you have the complete collection already it's still worth seeking out if you can avoid flipper prices. The sound quality and sequencing is better, has an extra couple tracks and great linear notes. It's like he is in the room with you! You can definitely hear the shellac hiss but it kind of adds to the charm

I tried to get the RJ release on RSD, but couldn't find it. Out of curiosity, how much did it cost originally at most spots on RSD? That way I know how much a flipper is gouging me if I do spring for it.

I'm not familiar with Merchandise Outlet.  Are they reliable?

I received my Low End Theory and Amy Winehouse records pretty quickly, and they are in great condition. Something about the shrink wrap seemed off. I suspected maybe they were wrapped a second time? But the records sound excellent and the sleeves are perfect.

The only odd thing about it is that they both smell like tires. That pungent smell of rubber at a tire store - that's what they smell like. I've had some cig smoke smelling records, but I've never had a record smell like a tire before.

  3. I've enjoyed multiple purchases from popmarket; most recently a couple Spoon albums that were on sale.

Prices: I agree with the above post that I really only gravitate to popmarket when I see pricing 30-40% lower than other sites.

Selection: I'm enjoy when multiple albums by an artist or even an entire artist catalogue are up for sale on the daily deals. I'm not a huge fan of one off albums or deluxe editions as daily deals.

Customer Service: I haven't had to use it yet, and based on previous posts, I'm a little afraid.

App: Cumbersome at best. I got rid of it a week after downloading and reverted back to your website.

Personal Request: TV on the Radio, Arctic Monkeys, and Wilco would make nice album bundles. And I'd second the above post encouraging more indie labels.

Thanks for reaching out to VC.

  4. I wasn't happy with my last NC purchase - MF DOOM Operation Doomsday. The quality of the press wasn't that great, and unlike what I said about the Fat Beats pressing of King Geedorah, Op Doom was a 2LP stuffed into a regular size sleeve with generic paper inners. Pretty crappy all around for the price.

So I'm taking a break from NC until something entices me enough to give them another shot. If you have a better experience with King Geedorah, let me know.

Thanks man, I just found it.  Probably wouldn't have seen it if not for your assistance.  Packaging is really nice though and  I love the red

Agreed. The red looks great, and so far, they sound just as good. I normally am annoyed by a 2LP that's not double gatefold, but I'm cool with this packaging since it's thicker material and a little wider to hold 2LP.

Did anyone get their copy yet?

I just got mine from bullmoose (they still have the red with foil artwork)  Beautiful packaging but unfortunately not a gatefold and didn't come with a DL code.  (That bums me out the most)

I just got mine from Fat Beats. The DL code was a sticker on one of the inner sleeves. I almost didn't notice it. Check your inners.

The adhesive on the "do not discard" sticker seems to have dried up on my copy. Went to put something away and saw that it had broken. Put a piece of double stick tape on it and that seems to be holding it for the time being. Not sure if it has anything to do with me putting the vinyl in the white sleeves, turning it 90 degrees and placing it in those green cardboard sleeves or what? Not really that big of a deal, nothing happened to the actual reel tape but just kind of annoying.

I saw the "do not discard" sticker and thought, I just paid $86 for you, you're not going to boss me around. I cut that crap. Then I discarded it.

Naw. Actually, I carefully slid it back onto the records. Sweet, belly band.

I have a bit of glue along the inside back edge of the back cover. A little sticky but it's fine.

Mine had a little glue on the bottom of the inside front cover - a bit sticky. I thought it was odd, but just kind of shrugged it off. Good to see I'm not the only one with glue issues.

    Otherwise, I love the album.
