  1. Pre-ordered the Mint Pearl variant off NB's site. Was going to get the Orange version with the t-shirt bundle, but the $14 shipping turned me off.
  2. My feelings exactly. Definitely prefer the look of the sliver/black splatter.
  3. Decided that I wanted to add one more to that Pop Market Black Sabbath order (couldn't believe I had forgot to get Vol. 4) so I contacted them and asked if they could update my order because I wanted to get it added to that 20% discount. The person who responded said they couldn't make any adjustments to an order once it's placed (weird) but they did give me an even better discount code good for 30% off. I can't say if it'll work for anyone else after I used it, but it definitely worked last night. PMLOVE is the code, if anyone is interested in trying. I ended up getting Black Sabbath Vol. 4 for $12.60 shipped.
  4. Ugh, wish I hadn't seen this. I've been putting off getting these for a while, but that price is too good. Already had the Master of Reality reissue, but grabbed self-titled, paranoid, sabotage, and sabbath bloody sabbath. I've got to stop buying so many records...
  5. Pre-ordered through Bullmoose and everything went A-OK for me. Thanks for posting that!
  6. I actually managed to check the site at 2pm EST when they said the shop would reopen and I managed to get one. I guess they only had a certain amount they were releasing to mailing list pre-orders, then they put some more out for everyone else. Glad I got one!
  7. Really wanted that tri-color, but it looks like the pre-order sold out within an hour. Guess I'll wait and get one of the other colors from a Distro here in the states then.
  8. Man, that $80 price tag is a tough pill to swallow. Good luck with the release, but I can't justify that much for this.
  9. My tri-colored Shape Shift arrived yesterday only to find that Relapse had stuffed two disc 2's into the package and no disc 1. Considering how limited that quantity was, I'm not optimistic on getting a replacement. Hopefully they'll have one of those splatters at least to replace it with.
  10. I'm tempted to replace mine as well, since side C is a crackly, unlistenable mess, but I kind of have issue buying another copy of a record because it wasn't pressed right the first time.
  11. I've got to stop coming to this forum. It's getting to be expensive! Couldn't resist pulling the trigger on this. Two great albums that I didn't already own and in a three record set it was a no brainer. The records themselves were pretty reasonably priced, actually, but it's the shipping where they got me. It's where they always get me.
  12. Man, I was hoping there was an update on the reissue. I was actually going to see them at the Orlando show, but it's the night before my math final and I'd be screwing myself for sure if I did.
  13. Awesome band and I'm stoked to hear they're putting out vinyl now. Thanks for the heads up!
  14. When I checked yesterday (before posting) they said they had to order more from Rise Above. I checked Rise Above's site and the only thing you could order from them was the CD, so I assumed that was out. Checked this morning and they've got it listed as in-stock. Anyhow, thanks just the same.
  15. Is there any place to get this online right now? I slept on it and it seems sold out everywhere.
  16. I had been putting off getting this so far, and I'm glad I did. That blue version is beautiful.
  17. I've got a feeling CHUD isn't selling quite as fast as WW was hoping based on the steady stream of advertisements they've been pumping out on twitter, facebook, and instagram. The fact that their flesh and blood variant is limited to 500 and is still available also leads me to believe this. I haven't seen the movie since the DVD came out, but I don't recall thinking it had aged very well myself. When the soundtrack release was announced I gave a few tracks a listen on youtube and it didn't grab me. Guess it's good to know I don't have to buy every single thing they put out and can put that money towards other records on my want list.
  18. Yeah, same here. Sides A/B/D are mostly listenable, but side C is a mess. I was actually just thinking of this soundtrack earlier. One of my favorite movies when it came out and the soundtrack was a huge part of it. The movie hasn't aged so well, but the score is still beautiful.
  19. It honestly hasn't been, and as I mentioned, if you're more conservative about the amount of fluid you use, or use a stronger vac, you may not see any moisture at all.
  20. Yup, I had the same issue with Waxwork's release of the Trick r Treat soundtrack (the candy corn colored pressing). Bar none the single noisiest new record I've ever bought. I'm going to give it a bath here one day since I've got this new RCM and see if that helps at all, but I'm not too hopeful.
  21. Man, you have no idea how quick I'd be all over this if someone put it out. I'm not the kind of collector to get every color variation of a release, but I'd change that policy for this. Such great music and such an important game to my childhood.
  22. Ok, so here's my experience so far with the Squeaky Clean RCM. (sorry for the massive wall of text) I had a couple of email interactions with Nick (the owner/creator of the RCM) and was thrilled with how quickly he got back each time. Asked a bunch of questions, was satisfied with his info, and ordered it up. I live in FL and it came in about four business days. When I got home from work and saw the box sitting under the carport, I noticed that the corner of the box was mashed to shit. I took it inside, got the box opened, and surveyed the situation. Turns out that the part that the shop vac hose connects to had a pretty bad crack in it. I contacted Nick and told him and he apologized about it and promised to send me a replacement right away, but recommended I wrap some tape around the problem area to get up and running. Turns out I didn't need to do that, and that the shop vac hose fit in well enough to eliminate most of the air leak caused by the crack. Unfortunately, I also saw that there was a crack in the puck housing and a piece of of it flaked off. It still worked fine, but it's kind of unsightly. Once again I emailed Nick, and while he was surprised, he said he'd add a replacement housing to the package and some 2 sided tape to mount the existing puck into. Anyhow, my point in mentioning all this is to inform you that 3D printed objects seem really fragile so be extra careful handling it because I could see the whole thing getting smashed pretty easily. That's not to say I don't think it's a great product, it just requires a little more care than it would if the whole thing were made of solid plastic. In case you didn't gather from the video on the site, the top and bottom, and presumably the inside, of the platter are made of pre-existing parts and he 3D prints the feet, the wand, and the hose fitting. Despite my warnings and the disappointment with the shipping, I've still been really happy with the purchase, and Nick's customer service has been a big part of that. I totally recommend you get this if you're in the market for a cheap alternative to the more expensive machines out there and want an upgrade to just rubbing the dirt around on your records. As a matter of fact, tell Nick that Brandon in Florida put you onto his product and gave you a sterling recommendation for it. As for the performance of the RCM, it did an incredible job. I did a little research online and decided on a recipe to use for the cleaning solution. Just like Nick mentions in his video, you're best getting two squirt bottles (I found one like Nick used [the sort of ketchup diner bottle], but I imagine a spray bottle would work too) and filled one up with my cleaning solution, and the other with distilled water for rinsing. The cleaning solution ended up being 3/4 cup of distilled water, 1/4 cup of 91% isopropyl alcohol, and 2-3 drops of dish soap. I went with a fragrance free soap to keep down on the weird stuff. One thing I don't think Nick mentioned in the vid was that there's a slight amount of moisture on the record when it's done depending on the amount of fluid you use. If you're wanting to immediately put it into a sleeve or on a turntable I'd recommend keeping a microfiber cloth nearby to dry off the tiny remnants. You may not even see any water residue on yours depending on the vacuum you use and the fit. You'll have to play around with the dial on the wand to find the best setting, but I made it about as tight as it would go since my shop vac is tiny and pretty weak in comparison to the larger ones out there. I also find you'll want to play around with the amount of fluid you use in relation to the brushes you use. If you're doing one after another, the brushes begin holding a lot of fluid and you can get away with using less and less as you go on, otherwise the surface of the record becomes pretty saturated. The final results with the Squeaky Clean were pretty remarkable. I've cleaned old records I've bought second hand and brand new records and the outcome was great both ways. With the new records, I've found cleaning them before playing them results in them being a lot less prone to static as the process seems to remove the record's tendency to hold a charge. I've also read plenty of accounts of the potential for a new record to have all sorts of stuff on it from the plant, so cleaning it for those purposes isn't a bad idea. With the old records, many of which I'll admit were a bit dirty, this thing worked magic. Pops and surface noise were practically eliminated on most of the ones I've cleaned so far and some of which, in particular, an old Blondie and an old Emerson Lake and Palmer album, ended up sounding brand new. So yeah, sorry about the massive wall of text, but I'm pretty excited about it and I'm sure you're going to love it. Let me know if you have any questions I didn't cover and I'll be happy to answer. TLDR: The squeaky clean showed up damaged, the seller sent out replacement parts (which I haven't received, but did get tracking info for), and the thing is working great despite the damage.
  23. Couldn't be more excited about that reissue for The Beyond. Probably my favorite Italian horror movie and one of my favorite soundtracks ever. Missed the first time it was pressed, but wont be missing this one. And man, that art is gorgeous.
  24. Jumped on that Marble pre-order. Also got Blue, which I just realized I didn't have, in that nice bone white/blue swirl. Ended up ordering them separately, though, so I didn't get stuck waiting. I like the new song. They're a long way off from First/Second/Red metal days, but it's good "alternative hard rock", which is fine too
