  1. So this happened last weekend. Not sure if we were more jazzed that we stayed in a haunted hotel room or that Alan Rickman decided to make an appearance. Either way, holy fuck.
  2. Good morning all you wonderful people! How's life treating y'all?
  3. Have it all, but thanks for looking out
  4. Sending good thoughts your way Ryan - hoping he makes a speedy recovery <3
  5. @jhulud I'm sorry that it hasn't been the easiest of times for you lately Juan While it sounds like there were a lot of negatives that have gone on, there were a couple positives - your dad BEAT CANCER! fuck yeah! AND your mum was able to get the help she needed! - even if they may be hard to appreciate right now, understandably. I know telling you to keep your chin up is essentially useless - you're smart and seem to be too hard on yourself to not tell yourself that anyway - but do know that things have to get better, if you keep an optimistic attitude. Find something small, even if it's trivial, that brings you joy, and give yourself a break every now and then. And if that doesn't work, feel free to reach out for a much-needed vent session. <3 I know it's cheesy as fuck to quote a book or whatever, but fuck you, I'm doing it, because it's a beautiful anecdote and you need to hear/read it. I'll leave you with this to hopefully put a smile on your face.
  6. Haha, I'm from the Midwest as well! I've caught them in Seattle, Portland, Palatine, Chicago, Madison, and soon Estes Park. No one is from where I'm at, so traveling is always necessary Deal!
  7. Yeah! We're heading there for the Sunday show, and just exploring around CO that weekend (if Frontier airlines doesn't mess everything up!) Will do
  8. Thanks for those ideas! Excited to check them out I'm used to far more snow than that, so I should be prepared for any outdoorsy things
  9. Oddly enough, that is the only "souvenir" anyone seems to want haha
  10. Gotcha - updated it to be a bit more helpful hopefully
  11. Hey cuties! I'm heading out to Denver next week and will also be traveling through to Boulder and Estes Park, and was hoping y'all could shoot me some suggestions of your favorite things to check out in any of those areas? From what I've gathered, Wax Trax and Twist and Shout will probably be on the agenda, but if there's anything fun/kooky/interesting to see, I'd love to hear about it! Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated! Some notes: Vegetarian suggestions would be cool, but any restaurant is fine, too Not intending to smoke, and what drinking we do is pretty limited, but again, suggestions welcome! Dark beers + whiskey are favorites Won't have too much time for snowboarding, but 3-4 hour hikes/excursions are doable!
  12. Scheduled to work until 10:30, but assuming everyone who is drunk will order pizza (or come to our bar). Might attempt a sparkler pizza!
  13. Just popping in to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you wonderful people. You all have been some of the nicest, most helpful and delightful people I've had the chance to talk to and get to know over this past year, and hope this next year is even better. Love you guys and gals!
  14. AHH!!! Before diving into these amazing gifts, the first thing I need to say is thank you so, so, so much Santa! You did an absolutely fantastic job, and I was grinning ear to ear (and still am)! Okay, on to the unwrapping! Earlier this week I was greeted with these two big packages! To deter myself from opening them immediately, I took the liberty of wrapping them up with some shiny paper so that I could tear it off like a mad woman on Christmas morning (not sure if that makes me crazy in itself?) Opening the first package, I'm surprised with puffy pink S's and a hint of purple paper! Surprisingly, they were not some space-age delicious candy, but instead used for packing (unfortunate, but ultimately, my belly is relieved, and my presents are happier)! I dug around in both boxes to find some notes to hint at whoever was the sweetest person ever, and came up with the TINIEST CARD IN THE WORLD. It was heartwarming and made me squeal. Tiny things make me happy, and this card was no exception. I also received a package from Amazon - which you'll see in a few artfully crafted photos - but just gotta say, you, Santa, nailed it. A COOKBOOK? No, wait. A VEGAN COOKBOOK WITH A BUNCH OF WORDS THAT WOULD MAKE MY MOTHER BLUSH?! Appropriately, fuck yes! Thug Kitchen has been a favorite of mine for years, and while I did already own this book, now I can have a copy for my place and also for my dude's, in an ill-fated attempt to make him eat somewhat healthier. Mwahahahaha. Also, as you can see, I got MORE TINY THINGS. The cutest sugar skull bead! An assumably-native Arizona magnet! And something that sounds delicious and makes me want to tear into it right now but I don't think making my entire Christmas diet candy would make me the happiest of campers. All of this is the coolest and I love it! And finally...I got not one, but TWO RECORDS. They are: Portugal. The Man | Censored Colors (possibly my favorite from them!) Lil BUB | Science & Magic : A Soundtrack to the Universe (I received Lil BUB gifts from literally everyone this year, and this was my favorite. I got to see her band last year and it was the weirdest and most unexpectedly wonderful experience ever. This record has been a desire of mine since! And it came with a poster!!!) I know my Secret Santa couldn't have known this, but I received new speakers last night that blow my last set-up out of the water, and being able to break them in with these two spectacular relics of musical joy is one of the coolest gifts I'll probably ever get. Now, on to the guessing. With my great sleuthing abilities, the touch of Southwest flair, and being an absolute sweetheart, I'm taking a crack that it was @backpackoat in Arizona with the Spirit of Christmas! I can't say this enough, but thank you for everything - you're the best p.s. My nephew was Santa's little helper (not the dog), and he's still deciding if he enjoys Lil BUB's tunes as much as I do
  15. Just roll out enough paper to fit the longer side, as it won't work from the other. If the dimensions are too big, I just tape a big section of paper on the ends and then wrap normally, so it at least is covered completely.
  16. I'm pretty good at wrapping presents (would even go so far as to say I love wrapping them), but last night I had to tackle a large box for my nephew and I was losing my mind. How any parent does that every year boggles my mind
  17. Hey guys - I know I don't chip in much in here because I'm a garbage lurker, but would any of you be willing to throw up some Russian Circles on Google Drive? Really would like to check them out, and would appreciate it immensely. If not, thank you anyway
  18. Feel for you T - I work until at least 10:30pm New Year's Eve and Jan 1st too! And no holiday pay! Woo.
  19. I received a package from my Secret Santa today and the willpower I am using to not tear into it for the next 5 days is serious business
