  1. A few honest sellers on Discogs selling the Stephan Jenkins EP for $15-16.
  2. Are you back to being a fan of Cueto, Napalm?
  3. I was planning on skipping RSD but my local video rental shop has records and gets a few RSD every year so I ended up seeing that Xiu Xiu - Twin Peaks LP for $23 and taking it home with me.
  4. Has anyone got a shipping confirmation for their Chicago single? I can't remember if AK sends out shipping notices or you just have to check your mailbox around the release date.
  5. This is all vinyl/cds/cassettes EXCEPT pre-orders, yeah?
  6. I dunno what it is. I just suddenly really like Pinback now. PINBACKBlue Screen Life DETAILSEvent: RECORD STORE DAY 2016 Release Date: 4/16/2016 Format: 2 x LP Label: Ace Fu Records Quantity: 2000
  7. If you order more than 3-4 records, they pack them well. If you order only one record or they split your order into smaller shipments, you could receive your records in flimsy individual mailers.
  8. I'd like to see the numbers on how many people buy vinyl without owning enough cash to afford to buy vinyl.
  9. In no modern world should a buyer accept the liability of loss on merchandise they've ordered that goes missing in the mail or gets damaged. For starters, the Postal Service is being contracted by the seller, not the buyer. Also, businesses are responsible for managing the risks and costs of doing their business, including paying taxes and accounting for theft, lost packages, damage, etc. They can pass those costs on to a consumer but they can't hold a consumer liable when they decide to forego insurance or any similar risk-lessener.
  10. Looks like they took off any mention of limited quantities on the Weezer store for the white. Anyone know more about what that might mean as far as the pressing size?
  11. I'd love to boycott RSD over their prices but I can't cause I never really participated in the first place. I was bored two years ago and bought a Deer Tick 7" and Chad VanGaalen 7" at my local shop at 3pm on RSD and last year I picked up the KOLS reissue from another shop the day after RSD. Other than that, RSD wouldn't miss my money that was never there.
  12. No Sleep sent me the wrong LPs once and were quick and efficient with sending me a return label and shipping out the correct LPs. Another time, however, they sent me a defective LP that skipped like crazy (tried on multiple players, vacuum cleaned it, nothing worked) and never responded when I inquired about a replacement. The LP was only like $5 so I just gave up and ate the loss. This was more recent, about 6 months ago, and I know they are basically going out of business so maybe customer service isn't their focus right now.
  13. I think that KOLS reissue is not an official RSD release, no? Edit: ^ what he said.
  14. Did he start his message by saying "hello" and end it by saying "thank you" because, to me, putting "certain words" in quotations can make "anything" feel "more shady" than it might be. I would "move" on and not give it too much "thought".
  15. Speaking of fast deliveries, I did that GoHastings 20% off deal on Thursday or Friday and I got my first shipment delivered on Monday. Only 1-2 business days. Fastest Media Mail ever.
  16. I live in Los Angeles so there are a ton of record stores here. A majority of them charge $5-10 more than online prices, with a select few that will charge you $40+ for represses of classic rock bands. The last handful of records I've bought from a shop were at Permanent Records in Highland Park and Amoeba in Hollywood.
  17. It worked for me an hour ago. I ended up getting this mini-haul. Beach House Beach House Long Play Record $14.46 $10.13 1 $10.13 II Unknown Mortal Orchestra Long Play Record $14.46 $10.13 1 $10.13 Singles Future Islands Long Play Record $16.86 $11.81 1 $11.81 It's Hard to Find a Friend Pedro the Lion Long Play Record $11.50 $8.05 1 $8.05 I had 3-4 more in my cart but they became sold out before I completed the order.
  18. Apologies if this has been posted (or deserves its own thread) but Jealous Butcher are re-issuing Kind of Like Spitting's You Secretly Want Me Dead on RSD 2016. I don't think it's an official RSD release but they are using the RSD title in the promotion for it. As of now, this is the only RSD release I'm buying so I'm excited for it. http://www.jealousbutcher.com/collections/pre-order/products/you-secretly-want-me-dead-rsd-2016
  19. I bought the 4xLP Pinkerton and the MoFi, and then I sold the original album record from the 4xLp set for like $12 on Discogs. So, now I have a Frankenstein Mo-Fi Pinkerton with the 3 bonus LPs. If you have the time and energy, I would recommend this hybrid version.
  20. I miss their So Jealous/The Con period. Their first few folky Lilith Fair records and their bootleg b-sides/demos compilation were interesting too. In these "indie-means-electro"-Spotify-playlist times, we could use a great Tegan and Sara album with guitars and live drums. All that said, I'm glad they found heightened success with the last album. They seem like great people and deserve to be doing very well with their music.
  21. Sometimes, if the price is right, on a magical evening, someone will pay $220 for a $25 LP. After all, I once paid $220 for 4 pairs of pants and a shirt at the Gap.
  22. I was joking, by the way. Cueto doesn't have a "usual collapse" around playoff time. A string of mediocre starts for the Royals last season doesn't erase 5+ years of elite production, including a pretty amazing start in the World Series.
  23. $10 shipping for 2 singles and an LP, which makes their 30% discount more of a Free Shipping discount. Do they do Priority Mail as their standard shipping?
