PO: Lost in Kiev - Nuit Noire (9/2/2016)
Stress On The Sky replied to omik11303's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I would but I don't use spotify or any streaming service if its not on my i-Pod before I leave in the morning it has to wait till I'm home (but tbf there's 17,000 songs on me at any one time on my classic so it won't be a tough wait.). I'm also based in the UK so probably won't need to partake in the group buy because shipping from the EU shouldn't fully bankrupt me, but thanks for thinking of covering me. I know I'm still quite a new face here so being considered trustworthy enough to join in on a group-buy gave me a warm fuzzy. ;-) -

These guys keep popping up on my youtube recommendations lately. I'll give some of this album a spin and if it's my thing I'll grab that record cos it looks beautiful. -
I'm not certain of the weight I'm just going by how heavy it felt in hand so I could be way off as its 1 in the morning over here and I'm probably beyond my best reasoning. Maybe the 200gm quote on the page is including the cardboard it came in and its closer to 160gm I dunno...

No response from Pure on quantity but mine has just arrived. It's not a gatefold but has a printed inner sleeve with the lyrics on one side and a photo on the other (will post pictures tomorrow) vinyl doesn't feel like 180gm I'd estimate it at 150gm. Packaging was a bit light on padding so mine got a minor crease but that doesn't fuss me. I'm no audiophile but I'll spin it tomorrow and let people know if there's any significant issues with the sound quality.

Their earlier work is a lot more raw and messy but it's all good, my personal favourite is You Will Not Survive.

Whats New on VC
Stress On The Sky replied to HectorSRCVINYL's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Yeah I get that. It's obviously preferable to the double and triple posts we were seeing and it seems to happen a lot less frequently so it's a step in the right direction for sure but I figured because it is infrequent a mod may not have seen it at all. -

For some reason posts are getting repeated within one post. Kind of like the old double post problem but jamming the same text twice into one post. I'd quote one but I don't internet that hard. -

My Darkthrone - Arctic Thunder is on it's way. Still got my fingers crossed to be one of those lucky gits who gets the tape as well. Heard good things about the album on the whole but steered clear of the leaks and only listened to Tundra Leech once. Very excited for its arrival. -
PO Now: True Widow - AVVOLGERE
Stress On The Sky replied to burkyburk's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
To be honest I think Avvolgere is the point where I'll have to call it quits with these guys. I love their first two albums but this just isn't doing it for me and I think I have everything I'll ever need from them unless they start mixing it up big time. Feel that pain too, been stung a fair few times lately to the point where I have become more discerning over who I will pledge for. At least in some of the cases where I was stung the campaign also had a charity element so that 15% of their goal was going to a good cause which I'm totally fine with. Still it can suck to be an early bird investor only to see the Johnny-come-lately's skip off into the sunset with a better deal.

Got Arab Strap's sold out London show on Thursday. Yet another band I thought I'd never get the chance to see live. Getting ready for the emotional gut-punch that show is going to cause me.

Quite possible, Biffy may have dropped a new album but their tour schedule is looking a bit Spartan and Simon Neil will probably be taking some time away to finish up, release and promote his solo album as ZZC. That should free up Mike and Gambler for more British Theatre, Vennart or Richard A Ingram activity.
