  1. Eric has one already, I think. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else. The Cardigans ones were all eBay...and way too expensive but I figured the regular version of the LP was $35 new to begin with...so no big deal spending approximately twice what that would cost for the test pressing.
  2. Maybe the postal worker doesn't like Integrity.
  3. I bought a Sean Na Na "Dance Til Your Baby is a Man" test pressing on eBay for $.99. It was cheaper than buying the album itself. Other than that they're all from trades with friends' labels, with the exception of the following: The Cardigans - Gran Turismo 180g Simply Vinyl pressing The Cardigans - Life 180g Simply Vinyl pressing The Cardigans - can't remember which bad 12" remix single - part of a lot on eBay for cheap Braid - Frankie Welfare Boy Age 5 (eBay for $20)

  6. I'll sell you the guitarist's home address for $20.
  7. The Protector + Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior if nobody recommended them yet. Tony Jaa is Wu-Tang brother #1.
  8. I definitely saw this band play the Fireside Bowl with the Parasite and Boris the Sprinkler about 10 years ago, and bought that very same Green Beans 7". I remember I thought it was so clever to use a product logo in your record layout/t-shirt design, then every band ever did the same shit for the next 5 years. I know there's also a Gob(CANADA)/Gob(AMERICA) split. I can't remember who put it out. I want to say No Idea, but that doesn't seem right.
  9. If it makes you feel any better, the guy who won is going to pay $16 to have that record and one other one shipped to Norway.
  10. Haha, she just fucked you guys up like a bad accident. +1
  11. Well, you missed the copy I sold on eBay for $17.50 by a few hours.
  12. Redline had No Empathy/Zoinks splits for $2 that we just returned to the label (Johann's Face). We also had the Ben Weasel Don't Like It 7" up until about a month ago. I believe we finally sold out of Connie Dungs records but you can get in touch with Scott @ Harmless and I'm sure he has a couple laying around. [email protected].
  13. Those extra goodies make the eBay auctions go for even more!
  14. Side to side? Is it a new LP? If it's going side-to-side and fucks up like that, it was pressed off-center. Look at the record from up above. Does it look like the grooves aren't centered on the record? That'll do it. We had that happen on the Dakota/Dakota LP and they had to re-do the plates. Aside from the side-to-side arm thing, I didn't even notice it audibly until the later songs on the A Side.
  15. Oh come on, the only actual famous people in this thread were Ron Jeremy and Vanilla Ice. The rest are just punk bands and whatnot. Doesn't count! I have some great ones I'll post when I get them scanned in.
  16. No Idea doesn't press records on 10 different colors on purpose. You can't expect that shit to be 100% pure one color. Especially if it's a "mixed" color. Vinyl pellets/flakes come in only so many colors. If you want some color that's a mixture of a couple of different colors (say you want orange vinyl), they have to mix other colors to make it. As a result, not every record is going to be the same color, because while they mix the flakes up, they're never going to come out perfectly. Now, if it's a solid color, it's much more likely to turn out uniform throughout. Regardless, you still might get a streak or two in there from stray flakes from other pressings. They don't have dedicated presses for each possible color. That said, anyone who complains about No Idea being cheap when it comes to pressing is insane. They usually have nice, full color layouts, inserts, colored vinyl, nice labels....all this shit is incredibly expensive. If they press 500 copies of a record, and they're selling it to the customer for $6 or whatever, they're probably barely breaking even. Press some records and you'll see what I mean. I was losing $1 on every copy I sold of the Boys Night Out LP at first. When you add up the cost of shipping supplies, paypal fees, paying people to pack orders, etc. No Idea is bottom dollar for sure. Quality product, great price. Shit, the only reason they can afford to do some of these records on vinyl at all is probably because people are willing to buy 25 different versions of the same Against Me! record.
  17. I agree. Miami Vice was boring and complicated.
  18. I booked their first ever show, before they even had a name. Different drummer, different guitar player. They were very bad. I was putting on a show at DePaul University for Examination of the.... EXAM got paid $250, Fall Out Boy was paid $0. Now they're millionaires. Wild times. I see the old guitar player all the time, as he lives in my neighborhood. He's not a millionaire.
  19. Not only that, but the HOFX record came out 10 years ago. There was no such thing as eBay. People who bought that LP back then weren't collectors, they were fans of NOFX. There was no way to KNOW about different versions of records, different pressings of records, or that records even existed outside of whatever your local record store could tell you. You couldn't e-mail the label, because most of them didn't have e-mail addresses. Hell, the internet wasn't even really around. The best you could hope for was trading on AOL, Prodigy, CompuServe, etc. message boards or server lists or whatever. Now, people know what's coming out, what time it's coming out, and can buy it instantly and have it within a few days. The records coming out in the year 2007 and beyond aren't going to retain their value, which is why you're better off either flipping records you no longer listen to immediately or not buying them in the first place. Comic books from the 60s, 70s, etc. have retained most of their value because the only people buying them were kids, who treated them like shit. Now people buy them and put them in protective sleeves and whatnot. Same with records. People know they're buying some limited whatever and they take care of it so it's worth more. The only way to make records worth anything more than the cost of an LP is to press them on different colors or press different versions or whatever. In the long run, this value will not hold up.
  20. Sorry, didn't check this thread again until just now. Nah, I only put a few of those out (Master of Profits 7", FDLS split 7", Ten Steps LP, Discographer 2xLP). Everything else was acquired either through the band or the labels. I guess I cheated by trading a lot of test pressings of records I put out FOR other test pressings. But hey, beats buying the stuff. The real irony is the fact that I don't have a copy of the Hewhocorrupts/Fordirelifesake split 7" on pink vinyl with the regular cover. I don't know how the fuck I managed to not save one. That's the only records I've put out that I don't have.
  21. Hit Man Dreams was definitely pressed. As was Fire in the City of Automotons, which is a German or Japanese import, I can't recall which. Where did you find the Riot for Romance import? I'll have to check into that one.
  22. I think there should be a rule on repressing a record. After, say, the 10th pressing, they should all be on one more color, forever and ever.
