  1. does this mean there will be another Manix album soon? I'd be up for that... for what it's worth, I never really thought his live back-up vocals fit with nick's
  2. I heard that they might trade thompson and lee for love, martin, barea, and mn's 13th pick. if the warriors add barnes to that, I'd like it (as a wolves fan)
  3. same price here, and I seem to recall them having good shipping prices (although it's been a few years since I ordered from matador) http://store.matadorrecords.com/el-pintor
  4. if anyone wants one... http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/102659-fs-fear-before-art-damage-picture-disc/ like I said earlier, I bought this from VC for ~$8 and maybe listened to it once. and if I was going to sell this for ebay prices, I'd put it on ebay
  5. saw this thread the other day and figured if someone wants my copy, I might as well sell it to them I'm leaving town on friday for a week. if someone wants this super fast, PM me and we can try to work something out so I mail this before I leave town. if not, it'll sit comfortably on my shelf for another week or so...
  6. I listen to Heavens and Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room more than I listen to Alkaline Trio, and same with Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds and Sundowner versus the Lawrence Arms. Part of that might just be that I want a certain style at a certain time (e.g., "Dan songs" or "Chris songs"), while their full bands alternate between different styles with the different vocalists.
  7. I think I got one of these from VC back in the day, too. if anyone's interested, just send me a PM...
  8. I think he has been referred to as "the bastard of bolton" or "bolton's bastard" before. he's a bastard of the north, hence he's a "snow" (each region has a last name for their bastards)
  9. the biggest change is that... and in terms of this situation...
  10. word. I wish the nba would have a hard cap and no guaranteed contracts. never gonna happen, but that would help parity, too
  11. I'm not sure why people are having this argument, but here I go... three words: "china loves basketball". you can talk about japan and latin america all you want, but china has more people than japan, the US, and latin america combined. how else do you explain yao ming being AN EIGHT TIME ALL-STAR?!? and in terms of the diversity of the nba, there are legit star players from pretty much every inhabited continent on the globe (though surprisingly china doesn't produce many quality nba players) anyhoo, if you want unbiased opinions on this, just google "most popular sports in the world". basketball is usually 2nd or 3rd (behind soccer and sometimes cricket). as for the clippers deal, ballmer probably overpaid, but when you have $20 billion, I think you can afford to over pay . it'll be interesting to see how well the clippers play over the next 10-20 years. they sucked for a long time before griffin/paul, but the ownership has always been their biggest problem. now that the lakers are in for a tough stretch, the clippers could be the team in LA for the forseeable future
  12. part of the price for the dodgers included the land surrounding dodger stadium and the parking lots (and the corresponding revenue) and a TV contract, while the clipper deal includes none of that.
  13. by "your shit", is she referring to her half of the rent?
  14. for a show where you feel like you know what happens (I mean, it's a ~prequel show at this point), I really have no idea what's going on, and I love it
  15. your "white walker" talk is making me wonder if the white walkers being "on the move" has anything to do with dragons being back in the world
  16. saw this on the asian man facebook page I've missed a couple of these, but I'll for sure be buying this one
  17. agreed. I'm pretty sure anyone who claims to have have seen anything either [a] read the book and were purposely looking more closely than your average viewer or saw clips that someone else pointed them to. I just finished book 3 a few weeks ago, and the show didn't make it any more obvious that something was happening than the book did...
  18. don't forget that the lannisters recently slit the throat of the love of his life...
  19. I didn't expect Rick to become a biter after only 4 seasons, but it sure was a "holy crap!" moment as for the rest of the episode (and this whole half-season), it was good but oh so drawn out... does this mean next season will start with 8 episodes of "get out of terminus" and then 8 episodes of "walking slow" to DC?
  20. yet another great episode, and I loved the preview for next week
  21. just finished this last night, and I loved it. if I had to be picky, my only complaint is that the bad guys all get stronger as you get stronger, e.g., sewer rats still take a couple of hits to die when you're level 15. I understand that regular fights need to still be some sort of a challenge, but I should be able to kill ~3 rats without taking any damage. anyhoo, what kinds of players have people used? I was a thief, and I used butters as my buddy whenever possible
  22. spent the last ~7 hours playing this. $60 well spent
  23. I've started liking carl more as he's aged -- both the character and the actor, and both in the show and the comic. besides, if carl died, I wouldn't get to hear rick yell "CARL!" in his raspy voice but yeah, the second half of this season is off to way too slow of a start. one or two "omg! we're on our own" episodes would be fine, but at this point it feels like we're just killing time until the season finale, when presumably we'll arrive at the sanctuary or terminus or whatever this place in ~atlanta is going to be. kinda like the end of season 2 when we see the prison but don't actually get there
