I like the insinuation that (supposedly) overcharging a few dollars makes them less "punk". in my experience, interpunk packs records like a tank -- properly sized boxes, cardboard inserts, bubblewrap, etc. would you rather they ship records in recycled boxes (e.g., ones that hair dye or patches were shipped in) with shredded newspaper for padding? that would seem pretty punk...
also, in your postage calculations, are you factoring in the weight of the box and the stuff that protects the records inside the box? and, as you later suggest, those things probably aren't free, considering fat wreck charges $0.40 for a cardboard insert (at least they did the last time I ordered from them), and I don't see anyone questioning their punkness.
I'm assuming your complaint is based off of comparisons to other distros ship records at a loss (e.g., SRC with their flat-rate shipping) or other collectors who simply reuse mailers and packing supplies that they've received records in, but interpunk seems to be a top-rate distro as far as I'm concerned (great selection, website/database system, customer service, etc.), so if they're charging me a fair rate and pack records in such a way that ensures they don't arrive wrecked, I'm fine with that.
and if you're going to question their punkness, I'll question your punkness for buying a record simply because of the color when amazon.ca seems to have it available with free shipping
    http://www.amazon.ca...50338409&sr=1-2
and SRC has it for cheap shipping

"seems like"?!? I've seen a lot of crazy things on this forum (bible ashes in records, blood filled records, brewery bus tours, etc.), but I feel like this takes the cake. like, seriously, how many of these do they need to sell to break even?

Well like I posed the question to Kyle, what should they be doing? They can't really create customers. Anyone who doesn't have a smartphone by now is probably in that "I just want a phone that dials numbers and is simple" category (ie, 40s and up). They have to try and get them from their competitors.
Whether they have a superior product or not, they have to try and convince people that they do. Giving up isn't an option for a publicly traded company (at least until it's time to declare bankruptcy).

what if the guy had a bomb? what if his gun wasn't just a pistol? were there people between the shooter and the police?
you make it sound like they shot him from behind without saying anything while wearing riot gear and hiding behind a wall of civilians. I assume they said ~"freeze! it's the police!" or something, and he turned and pulled a gun on them. if they were cowards, they would have called in more police and stayed at their posts instead of tracking him down and confronting him, right?
"It wasn't Christians who bombed the U.S.S. Cole. It wasn't Christians who crashed a plane into the World Trade Center."
    you paint with broad strokes...
agreed. my point is that people act like they're all bad cops, bring up stories like "this one time, there was a cop who did something bad!", and jump to conclusions when something unfortunate happens.
I assumed it was pretty clear that I meant that they haven't fired their guns in the line of duty. presumably they've kept up their training...
my mistake, I forgot that the cops in the city next to yours are representative of all cops. and since that's the case, maybe these cops did shoot the civilians on purpose -- you know what that means, don't you? since they hit 10 people (9 civilians + the bad guy) and 10 of the 16 shots fired hit the bad guy, some of their shots must have injured multiple people! trick shot! just like in the movies! combos are worth double, right? wait a minute... I think I can read one of the cops' lips...
    damnit! they're all the same!
not all cops are good, but I'd like to think that most are honorable and have good intentions. even ones who incur some collateral damage when doing what they're trained to do, and that is to engage an active shooter.

I found it easier to search through this list
    http://vinyl-records...300&isort=price
searched for "(on sale)", sorted by price, and it shows 300 records/page (I can't be the only one who hates clicking through a bunch of pages, right?). removes the bent cover discounts, but oh well. once I got over $10, I stopped looking thanks though
