How many records do you own?
vinyljunkie replied to jhulud's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Roughly ~ 10,000. that picture of high fidelity looks like my record room somedays. another ~ 6,000 in the distro if you wanna count those as part of my collection. but that includes duplicates and stuff. -
no. its weird that every other record in the world is up for preorder though. i wish labels would quit doing preorders
-
the long number, like U-123477123 is the pressing plant number. the shorter one like SA-13, or TDB-008 is the record label release number (teenage disco bloodbath records #8, etc) some places stampe in the name of the mastering company. a lot of bands/labels choose some inside joke, or funny thing, to have etched into it too

vinyljunkie replied to jacobe's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
its not even 5 months old. even the oldest thread on this forum is only like 7 months old. -
i read a website that said 600 of each color, but i dont know how much you can trust that. i wish victory still had their pressing info page up. maybe try emailing them?

Do LP sales go towards a releases soundscan?
vinyljunkie replied to jacobe's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
even if it has a barcode, it doesnt get included in official sales of a record. some vinyl article in spin a while back was talking about it. -
A place for Level Plane stuff?
vinyljunkie replied to sgoodcore's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
i have most of it in my distro, and will be carrying all of it very soon. though now that 29north is no more and greg works at relapse, its taking longer to get the new releases in stock. you can also check slave union, or robotic empire as they carry a lot of it as well. -

anyone wanna buy this record for me?haaha
vinyljunkie replied to coldober's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
my friend found this in a CD store for 99 cents. they dont carry any punk vinyl, and have this small rack of oldies records, and so on one looks there for vinyl, and one day my friend went in there and happened to look there and bought it for 99 cents. this was 3 or 4 months ago. -
easily my favorite album of the last few years. i cant begin to count how many time i have listened to this album in the last 6 or 8 months

im well aware of how catalog/mailorder worked. i got most of my original collection through mailorders long before online distros were the way to go. but there it was excusable. you cant easily (or even AT ALL), go and edit everyones paper catalogs once they have gotten them. so a credit slip was normal, and almost expected in some cases. however now with the internet, you can easily remedy this in a matter of seconds, or use software that has that function built in to do it automatically. its understandable to get behind and have it happen once or twice or something here and there, but its another thing to be notorious for having half of your online catalog out of date ebullition is an example of doing it right. They do the old style text webpage, but keep it updated in removing out of stock items right away. they also send out catalogs as well taht go out of date/stock, and thats understandable, but they are on top of removing webpage stuff. -
there is one on ebay right now 311thrice, since you seem to be looking for one.

a lot of distros arent real business. most places who do distros dont have it in mind to be a business, or be professional. there are really only a handful of places that run their distro with the focus being on being a "business" or "professional" and staying on top of things. -

i use software to make sure its automatically removed from my site, so as not to confuse anyone. i always got upset at the 29 north site cause everytime i browsed through it i found tons of stuff i wanted, but it would always say "sold out". but at least its listed as sold out. Its not as bad as places like no idea that list EVERYTHING, and then its not until after you order, you find out half of your order was out of stock. -
i think it was like september or october or something.
