I haven't read through this whole thread but it's definitely an interesting one. I think it's important to remember that many people read and digest these online threads, not just the most vocal participants, so, they are great opportunities to re-enforce the ideas and kinds of political conversations that you/we want to see. Specifically, if there isn't a respectful or productive way to respond to a particular comment, sometimes the best response is to shift things back to a more productive place.

That said, I've been really happy with how my friends and personal circle have responded to the outcome of the election. One electoral-college-decided election doesn't wipe away all the people who are out there who have the absurd instinct to advocate for and support those that are different or less fortunate than themselves, just how Obama winning two elections doesn't wipe away all the people who are still struggling, upset, and don't have convenient ways to express their situations. It's definitely complicated and there are challenges ahead but we will keep moving forward and providing color to a country that has been painted in very simplistic black and white frameworks recently. Take care of yourselves and don't get bogged down in the muck, if you can help it.

We probably got 10 of the same and the rest are completely different so that's cool. The Casket Lottery, Ceremony, and What's Eating Gilbert are all great. I own TCL and WEG actually.

Still not sure if you were asking about shipping or sale date but, just in case (and to others curious), I just got shipping notification for this.

@Tommy - you are a good soul to remember my desperate, and ongoing search for "IT". I was highly on top of this one and was able to get it I think before the email even went out. I noticed he posted it a couple days ago on the Soild Gold section of the site and have been checking in quite often over the last few days, then went on an F5 spree for most of the morning after seeing the post yesterday until I was able to jump in and get it.

I might even get desperate and try to trade this for IT after I listen to it just so I can say my ears at least tasted both, while only actually owning one!

It can still be added, but if you attempt to check out it says it's sold out. Same thing happened to my friend last time so he had to buy a copy on Discogs a while later. The 2-pack seems to be sold out now, too.

I wandered to the rarities page earlier and was able to get the last remaining IT gold tape. Can't believe I finally got one and it wasn't on eBay or something.

I'm glad that the mailing list went out not too soon after, as people were being told to wait for that as their official sign that the order page was live. Hopefully, as many copies as possible end up in the hands of Dr. Dog/Scott/PIAPTK fans. 10% or more of the copies of his last LP "IT" ended up on eBay and Discogs for $100+. I was lucky to get a marked up copy for *only* $60. Anyway, all parties involved with this are awesome. I hope you all get one.

I went to Waterloo when I was in town for South By a few years ago. Pretty cool place.  Grabbed St. Vincent self-titled (after seeing her at the NPR showcase the night before and not having her new album on wax yet). Beck's Guero and this awesome third man records slipmat that's still on my TT.  Wasn't able to check out any shops when I was in town, but I'll hopefully be back for SX this year so I'll definitely be hitting up the other shops while in town.  http://s2.photobucket.com/user/XbigcX187/media/photo_zpsb8e91124.jpg.html

I'm taking a work trip to Austin in January and have one free afternoon/evening to pack in all my record shopping. I'm staying right on the Colorado river it looks like, so any recommendations for shops near there would be much appreciated! Thanks, friendly VC'ers.

    Thanks again to everyone.

I'm going to have to book a proper vacation to Austin so I can make use of all the great suggestions. I'll pop back in after my trip and let you know what I ended up doing, so you know that your time and responses were not all for naught.

I live right close to the S Congress one. I usually get their breakfast tacos and they are reaaally good (and huge).
Wish they were open for dinner though

Drove by it a bunch of times, but never tried it. Worth it?
That's a bummer. My wife HATES Polvo's. I must have an affinity for it because it was the first place we got Tex-Mex when we moved here. You get a ton of food for short money.

I've only been there once and unfortunately it was really bad Got a shrimp burrito and they used canned tiny shrimp in it. Bleck. Also they give you chips before your meal and then say "the salsa is inside, it's self serve" and then you go inside and there's a sign next to it that says "Salsa $2.99"
    WHO DOES THAT?! Hahaha.

    For cheap Tex-Mex, I'm all Polvo's.
I'm also Torchy's over TacoDeli. However, Maria's has the best breakfast tacos, in my opinion.
Whoever mentioned Mighty Cone: YES! Mighty Cone is awesome.
Waterloo is much smaller than Amoeba in Hollywood, and not as much used stuff. It depends on what kind of shopping you're looking to do, but Waterloo is good for new, End of an Ear is better for used. Encore is a great, small shop; decent selection with lots of metal. I've never been to Breakaway.

Everytime I have been to waterloo, its all new stuff that you can get anywhere. As is that hipster restaurant next door to it that seems to have people waiting forever to eat nothing special
I judge a record store on their used stacks. I have never been disappointed with End of an Ear. Breakway was decent the one time I went there

In the picnic food trailer park on Barton Springs, Trudys has a food truck now, so you could get mini stuffed avocados and some Mighty Cone.  Hey You Gonna Eat or What is great too.
