  1. I infer from their email update that PayPal already had them on double secret probation due to past "difficulties".
  2. I might agree with this, sadly. I like 2/3 of the album quite a bit, but all the robo-voiced barf talk at the end is a huge buzzkill. I mean, it's interesting and funny the first time through, but there's way too much of it.
  3. I placed my order on September 12th. Still haven't received it or any response to the inquiry I sent last week. Then again, it's hardly "late" at this point. The most recent date estimate was December 6th. And yeah, it's clearly a relatively big project for the label.
  4. Got mine yesterday and love the packaging. Cool & clever, ties into the game quite well. Only thing I'd change is that it would be nice to have a little "catch" of some sort at the bottom to hold the inner sleeve. Not a big deal, though. Vinyl could be quieter & flatter. That's my only complaint, and it's standard for Mondo releases (the recent Suspiria pressings being a major exception).
  5. Don't mind this at all. They manage it well, and it gives them a nice, old-school, power trio feel. Song isn't exactly setting my hair on fire though. Nice, but it sounds like they're still treading water. Wondering how the Satan's Satyrs tracks will turn out. Kind of hated the vocals on Don't Deliver Us.
  6. Neither's reliable, but they've each got 1 great album to their credit (Soma and Die Screaming). Wasn't keen on the follow-ups though. Tempted...
  7. You are a lucky cartoon lobster thing. Their pressing quality fluctuates, but tends to the pretty fucking shitty.
  8. Already got standard-type copy coming from Blood Music , plus that nice-looking sepiatone version from whoeverthehell put it out. So, I don't need another more-or-less ordinary, nice, decent person's copy. No, at this late (pre-release) stage, it's the sad janky weirdness of the fifty-cent floor sweepings model that most appeals.
  9. I bought one of those pressed-on-floor-sweepings "reclaimed" copies. I'm sure it'll look & sound at least half assy, but to me there's something kind of cool about the one-off uniqueness of each copy. I like the hand-stamped & numbered cover. And I kind of just want a copy NAOW - even a shit one. I mean, it's not like anyone buys all those sand-o-phonic Mondo records for the pressing quality...
  10. O fuck yes. Just about wore out Underworlds a few years back. Need new damage.
  11. Dunno, but yeah, they look like they'd be unique. Just random strings of characters.
  12. Boo. They did finally cancel. Sent me a $20 discount coupon, though. Pretty good for no hours work
  13. Cover's amazing. Boris FUCKING Vallejo. Also, Window Man is a creepy feeling. If this one is even half as great as Close Calls it will clearly be the greatest thing ever.
  14. Not cancelled yet. I figure the odds of actually getting it for that price are one in a million, but hope dies hard.
  15. I'm really digging it so far, couple listens in I got into the band circa 3&4, Get Stoved & Sucks Blood, so I've long been missing the wispy/folky sound of those early recordings. I don't think MOACOH can quite swing with Thee Hounds of Foggy Notion (Dwyer's best "wispy/folky" outing), but I'm ready to curl up in it for a while, see how it settles. Brigid's voice is especially nice in this context.
  16. Me too. $30 doesn't seem terrible for a 2LP, though it's certainly no bargain. I guess I don't mind because I'm happy to see/help the band receive some reward for their efforts. Far easier for me to justify than spending comparable sums on some reissue where the original artist is at best peripherally involved & minimally rewarded.
  17. The problem with this opinion is that it is assy. There's a solid $27.00 2LP in there. Though I do not own a single Beatles album, it does not pain me to admit that they could write themselves a choon. No more or less than Neutral Milk Hotel, Brand New, Thee Gorillaz, or whatever else you happen to fuck. I dunno, it just seems weird to spend internet time talking shit about pop bands. I mean, people like them. The horror...
  18. Yeah, sure, things are different now than then. No argument. And I don't give a shit about any of these dinosaur bands one way or the other (except Blue Oyster Cult, because I will be forever don't fearing the reaper). But The Beatles were popular largely because actual people-type humans liked them, and they remain relevant because [same]. I just don't need to slag what I'm not into. I mean, I love bad records that basically no one gives a shit about. I like them, and that's good enough for me. I don't have to pretend that other people have taste problems in order to validate my own.
  19. Dunno. Is it? I mean, the Rough Trade version is apparently out today, but I haven't received notice from CF. Bull Moose lists the release date as 12/1, Amazon has it as 12/15.
  20. Exactly. The use of language like "denounced" is unjustified and shitty.
