  1. Whatever you want off the list (within reason): http://deadformat.net/topic.php?id=28409
  2. Any trades since you should making a killing off the other?
  3. I need #5, I have the rest. Get at me if you sell the others individually.
  4. I have knocked off both of my side mirrors too. One was not my fault. I was driving on a small-laned road, with a woman passing me on my left side. I was watching her because she was close to the line and there was a car sitting on the side of the road (to my right) that was on the street too far. BANG. I hit our mirrors. They moved their car immediately afterward and I posited to the insurance that it was illegal since they weren't holding up traffic. If there car was on the right of way, they would have been culpable. Luckily, insurance didn't go up but I would have had to pay deductible to fix. The other side, I just knocked on a pole in drive thru. I felt stupid.
  5. In 2008, I bought a leased 2005 Nissan Altima. I got a great deal, it only had 29K miles, and I paid just under 13K. A week after I got it, I had a scuff on the bumper. I was so mad. Since then, I have added new dents, scratches, etc none of which are my fault! The most annoying thing is neighborhood cats. I don't hate animals, heck, my girlfriend has a cat. He's lived in my house for a year. But these people who let their shitty animals roam and scratch my car are annoying. And what can I do about it? I can't shoot it. Nor would I. But people look at you crazy if you try to get the thing off your own car. Like the cat is allowed to lay where the fuck it wants.
  6. ^^^^^ And it's a live record, right? I cannot believe anyone would spend money on that.
  7. There's not a lot I regret getting rid of, but like someone said earlier, there's a lot I regret not buying at shops thinking it would be available later.
  8. I can't even believe this was in question. Always yay.
  9. Blues is a difficult genre for me. You got so much stuff that is the essential blues (Rober Johnson, Hopkins, Lightnin' Slim, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy). But there's plenty of folk that influenced those guys that you've never heard of. Such as, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Charley Patton, Abner Jay, etc.
  10. Hah. I knew it was something like this! You're right, it was Lars' dad. As far as Metallica albums go, "Kill 'Em All" is pretty good too.
  11. Beach Boys - "Pet Sounds" The Beatles - "Abbey Road" John Coltrane - "Blue Train" Further Seems Forever - "The Moon Is Down" Pedro the Lion - "Control"
  12. Yeah, this is unnecessary. You can get the bulk of Robert Johnson's music already so the nice packaging isn't worth the extra money.
  13. isnt there a part in this where somebody comes in and basically tells them the album theyre writing sucks (which they obviously still unleashed upon the poor masses)? I'm pretty sure the conversation goes like this: Producer: "Guys, I've got some bad news." Metallica: "What's the matter?" Producer: "I heard the new demos." Metallica: "And, what did you think?" Producer: "Shit is weak." Metallica: "Nah, really? You're kidding, right? I mean, we're calling the record 'St. Anger'! How badass is that?" Producer: *Shakes head; leaves*
  14. I don't like "St. Anger" either but the docu-drama for the making of the album 'Some Kind of Monster' is a pretty interesting look at the band.
  15. are you kidding me? animals is their best album! I second this, in some sense, but it comes after Dark Side because, of course, it's their best album. Pink Floyd goes like this for me: skip the Syd Barret stuff, and skip the the latter Gilmour 'solo' records. Listen to these in chronological order and your life will be changed forever: Atom Heart Mother Meddle Obscured by Clouds The Dark Side of the Moon Wish You Were Here Animals
  16. Other R&B and soul artists to think about (mostly out of the 70's): Ray Charles (some credit him with the invention of mixing gospel and R& Sam Cooke (beautiful voice, unparalleled ability, died young) Otis Redding (obvious but died too young, too) Allen Toussaint (influential New Orleanian who recorded a few things but produced some famous artists) Booker T & the MG's
  17. Albums essential from the soul artists mentioned in the order of their importance (IMHO): Marvin Gaye: "What's Going On" "Let's Get It On" A greatest hits of his songs in the 60's would be essential too. Al Green: "Let's Stay Together" "I'm Still in Love with You" Curtis Mayfield: "Curtis" I could lend a hand on jazz too.
  18. Glad things are okay for you. Lots of damage.
