  1. I'm not too keen on it myself. The drum-work is better than past outings like 'Radiosurgery' and slightly better than 'Not Without A Fight,' but sounds uninspired next to 'S/T' and 'Catalyst.' The guitar work sounds great but I'm no expert. The vocals are atrocious. There are huge stretches that don't even sound like Jordan. I don't know a thing about music production but it sounds like an issue with production and/or mixing (again, I don't know about these things.) It sounds like Jordan is continuing to explore his range in parts and there are some decent songs, but for the most part is misses the mark. Some of the lyrics are embarrassing and cringe inducing. "If you wanna play with fire, I'll burn you down," sounds like a parody of an "A Day to Remember" song. I know New Found Glory were never known for their thought provoking lyrics, but you could at least identify subtleties, abstractions, and positivity of friendship as a core theme. 'Resurrection' sounds like it was written by a 14-year old. Overall I would rate this album as the worst New Found Glory record, slightly below Radiosurgery. Whereas Radiosurgery was very safe and generic, Resurrection ebbs between decent and god-awful.
  2. Has anyone else been to the VIP soundcheck/meet n greet? If so, what time was it? Gotta plan for next Wednesday.
  3. This should become a thing. "They've made 48 minutes of music in 5 years. Classic Glassjaw!"
  4. There's no telling. But you should honestly talk to someone about getting it appraised for insurance purposes. For now I'd see about getting a safe deposit box at your bank.
  5. If Topshelf started a religious cult, I'd cut all ties to friends and family, burn my house down, and join in a second. Oh and I can't wait for this.
  6. Did you guys know there's a female equivalent to Bronies that are way too into Transformers and make weird robot erotica fanfic?
  7. I liked the two ep's from these guys but I've tried to order this album twice and I just can't bring myself to pay money for something called, "The Angst In My Veins." I put in my cart, go to checkout, read the title again and laugh, then I feel disgusted, then I close the tab.
  8. Philosphy + Velociraptor Either way there's only 1 L and no A in the middle of the word.
  9. The ebay store has some good stuff. http://www.ebay.com/sch/adams.records/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg= Bunch of dusty old shit and 8 tracks. I'm thinking of buying something just to get it, throw it in the trash, and file a claim against your ebay account.
  10. Anybody follow this? I feel like I know bits and pieces of the story but not the whole thing. I've been meaning to really dissect the lyrics of "Travels" and "Letters Home" so I don't really have a complete picture. Here's what I know, maybe some of yous guys can add to this. Travels -About younger brother -Older brother tries to kill him playing "train dodge" -Younger brother kills father -Runs away -Meets the "Prophet in Plain Clothes" -Goes home, learns of his mom's death -Throws himself off the roof of a church Lost Ground -About the "Prophet in Plain Clothes" Empty Days & Sleepless Nights -About older brother -Picks up after father's death -Gets married -Being harassed by a local bookie over his father's debt -Tries to fight bookie and loses -Wakes up, finds his wife raped/murdered -Mom dies of drug overdose -Waiting for his brother to return to kill him -(???) Younger brother returns, older brother fails to kill him and is run over by the train (???) Letters Home -About father -Has an older brother who died -Comes home to his wife who has a drug addiction -Murders drug dealer who got her hooked/slept with her That's all I really know. Last time I saw Defeater I asked Derek about a couple things. They are as follows: -In Letters Home, the father meets the prophet before the events of Travels. I don't know when this occurs on the album. -In Empty Days & Sleepless Nights, the younger brother never returned. The older brother imagined it as fuel for killing himself. This is hinted at in the first line of the song, 'Lost in your own head.' So does this mean when the events of that song are described on the album Letters that it's really "the dodge" or what this a premonition from "the prophet?" Okay that's all I got.
  11. Sounds like your dad had a cool hobby he really enjoyed and you seem like a good son/daughter for wanting to cash in on that as quickly as you can. Way to honor your dad's legacy. Get rid of that shit while you still remember you even had a father.
