"Not giving a shit" is probably the least respectable quality a person can have in my opinion. I'm supposed to respect someone because they don't take seriously the ramifications of what they say and do? No way. Whirr's childish "trolling" since the incident is hardly the problem. The problem is their ableist and ignorant comments that started the whole controversy.
 
Also, bands that complain about reviews need to get some perspective.

Can someone please describe to me how consistently insulting everyone for weeks to drum up publicity is defined as 'not caring'? Not caring would be not acknowledging the reviews and not insulting everyone. I couldn't give less of a shit about this band but the fact that people have respect for someone or a band because they aggressively insult people without discretion is fucking absurd. If this gets you off, I suggest turning on Fox News and lusting for their unapologetic, awful opinions as well.

At work my boss always calls affidavits afterdavids. Spells it that way too in emails. He's been corrected millions of times but still does it. Any time I hear it it's like nails on a chalkboard.

Alright, now that the relevance thing has been explained it makes a little more sense. Especially that bit about nostalgia. However, it doesn't make sense in the context of pop punk music (where I see it most often used here), which is almost by definition just formulaic three-chord music. It doesn't seem to me that anything in that industry could become or has become "irrelevant," from Descendents to blink-182.
But I guess the fact that most bands that are "pop punk" just sound like pop, or alternative rock, or indie rock to me is a testament to how little I know about "pop punk."
Concerning the Beatles thing: A friend of mine thinks August Burns Red has made more significant contributions to music than the Beatles. He also thinks metalcore is... y'know, good music, so I usually just disregard what he says.

In the Pacific Northwest, we apparently have the most unabridged English of all (no fucking stupid quirks like the Southerners have or "wahrsh"), so when I hear somebody in fucking Washington fucking say "Warshington," I don't even know how to react. It's like, are you not from here or just a fucking idiot?

Usually people are embarrassed when they like this band.

It takes a lot of brass to post something like that here. You can stick with it if you want, but you could keep time by how much people here will beat on you for it. A lot of people here sit on their throne, content to give others the high hat. Hopefully you'll snare the answer you were looking for somewhere, ya big lug!
