  1. so we have someone who works for Hot Topic posting about stuff they get and now someone who works for Target posting about stuff they get since Target sells records now. how cute.
  2. anyone else find it hilarious and/or sad that we won't get a Halloween/clever "Nightmares" themed 7" not by Halloween, not by Thanksgiving, but for Christmas?... hopefully for Christmas
  3. what i meant by that was these probably won't ship this Thursday because it's P+P and whenver they say something will happen you have to tack on an extra two weeks minium.
  4. so much for "shipping within the first two weeks of october"
  5. so if you only need 1 copy of every album why do you care or does it matter it fork and knife was released as a 7"?
  6. even if you get Deja your Brand New collection is far from complete
  7. would not surprise me if these got held up. Rob Hitt was the one who bitched, moaned and groaned enough to get the pressing axed the frist go around with enjoy the ride. i think if the guy who runs enjoy the ride held his ground and stuck to his guns save the world would have been pressed already, but he has a heart and chose not to press the record because of Rob Hitt's objections. Rob Hitt even cried about when a legit test pressing was put on ebay, something he has zero control over, which resulted it the auction getting pulled for a day or two, again because the seller has a heart, but eventually it was relisted. ultimately these will get pressed because this time the albums aren't licensed out, but Rob will raise a huge stink about it and won't go down without a fight. i get the feeling he is just full of hot air and won't actually do anything legally to stop the pressing.
  8. what amendment is that in the constitution?
  9. saw this was bumped today and i'll share what i was told on Monday about the books. i decided to email the guy at Rise i've been in contact with since July about the books. i was told the books arrived at the vinyl pressing plant from the book pressing plant 2 weeks ago. apparently the book plant was overseas as the line "arrvied in the US" was used. the vinyl plant, not sure what plant they used, is inserting the records into each book and were expected to ship to Merchnow sometime this week, which is pretty much over as of writing this. why it takes 2 weeks to slip records into sleeves is beyond me. Merchnow should start sending them out next week if all goes to plan. since this has taken so long i'll hold my breath with this new timelines the band was/is also going to drive up to Merchnow to sign all the books that were pre-ordered. only the pre-ordered copies will be autographed. i was told that on October 1, and the band started their tour today so hopefully they already signed the books. otherwise the new ship date of "next week" will likely be missed since the only other times the band can sign sign the books is this early next week or at the end of the tour, which is at the end of October. another thing of note is that the books sold very very poorly to say the least. only 300 out of the 1,000 were sold and the band is planning on selling some of the remaining copies of the books on tour. doubt they will get all 700 or so remaining copies though as that's a shitload of books combined with the space and weight they'll take up. so i don't know for sure how the remaining copies will be divided up; if the band will get all of them, if the label will get some or if Merchnow will hold them until the label decides to start sellig them off. a price of $50 was mentioned for the books by themselves though. as mentioned above, unless the band decided to sign additional copies and you get them to sign the book at the show, the books up for sale on tour will most likely not be signed by the band.
  10. OP is most likely some VLV troll trying to instigate stupidity here in order to have something to bash over there. dead give away is his use of "hobbyists." they love saying that on VLV.
  11. no surprise that it was Tate who instigated everything and the patron saint of ap.net aka the douchebag behind American Dream Records who seems the most confused/misinformed. even funnier and more pathetic that despite being proven wrong he still refuses to let it go and starts arguing with over people over random nonsense. whenever there is a link to something on ap.net regarding records it's inevitable that Tate and the patron saint of ap.net aka the douchebag behind American Dream Records will be the two most frustrating, brain dead morons in the thread over there.
  12. how are they the greatest releases HT has ever done when they aren't even done yet...
  13. not a distro or label but a record store, Amoeba, who i'm sure most people are familiar with. been hit or miss with them but after their latest bullshit i won't be giving them any more of my money on any front. first issues i've had with them is they lie about some of the things they sell online, if they list them as new what you get may not actually be new. i ordered a record from them that was listed as new and they even went as far as saying factory sealed in the description too. what they sent me was a re-sealed, used copy. now i have no problem buying used records, i do it all the time. but if i'm paying the price of a new record i expect to get a new record. because i've run into my fair shair of shady stores and people online, i always take screen shots of the item/product page i buy and the order total before placing the order to have proof of any discrepancies. call it anal, but it paid off in this situation. when i contacted them about sending me a used copy that they re-sealed at the store to pass off as a new copy instead of sending me a legit new copy, they said what i bought was a used copy. they even went as far as fabricating a listing for the same record i bought that said used, even though i had a screen shot of the exact item i purchased that stated new and factory sealed as well. they denied everything and refused to accept a return or exchange so i had to call my credit card, sent them all the proof i had and they approved and processed my refund they next day. after that experience i should have steered clear. but they were offering a free 7" with order of an LP. so i made another purchase from Amoeba online to get the free 7" so i wouldnt have to buy it on its own. the LP was delayed so my order turned into a pre-order of sorts. enough time passed that my local store got the same deal with the LP and free bonus 7", for cheaper to boot, so i bought it there and cancelled my order with Amoeba since it still did not ship. they emailed me back within an hour of sending the initial email to them to confirm my cancellation and give me a refund. the refund was expected to be processed withing 48 hours. a week passed and still not refund from Amoeba, i email them again, they respond within an hour again telling me they already processed my refund days ago and to call my bank to confirm it went through and maybe it just hasn't appeared in my account yet for whatever reason. so i call my bank and they have no record of the refund. yet again i had to dispute another charge from Amoeba. i don't know why Amoeba thinks they can lie and get away with it.
  14. kinda like how you assume war all the time should be perfect because it was pressed the same way as every other hot topic exclusive
  15. to be fair there were far, far more people who exclaimed "this looks great! best looking vinyl i own!" than "this sounds good." what are the odds the people who exclaimed "this looks great! best looking vinyl i own!" actually listened to the record before hanging it on their wall.
  16. because two idiot 15 & 16 year old kids simply can't read/check the date of the thread before posting in it. the first being someone who signed up today looking to buy a John Mayer record.
  17. do people really expect the person who sells 2 or 3 records on ebay or other avenues once a year if that to buy brand new mailers? where can you even buy brand new mailers in under 10 count? if you're selling off your entire collection of hundreds or thousands of records then yes, you probably should buy new mailers unless you somehow have the space at your home to save that many mailers. now if i got a record from a distro or label in a used mailer then i might be upset. at this point every distro or label (no matter the size) that carries records should have the proper, brand new, mailing supplies for records on hand at all times.
  18. that is figured in to the price i gave. shipping too if you want to go down that road next. sales tax would have to be more than 100%, or more than $1 for every $1 spent to account for your price
  19. liar. circa offers wholesale pricing through their store in bundles of 5, and after shipping they come out to $21 and change a piece. the more copies you order the lower the price becomes for each copy. on that note why anyone from these boards has not organized a group buy for this record is beyond me. especially since people are complaining about the $35 price tag for one double LP. instead of whining that these cost too much you guys could cut down your cost to about $25 instead of $35...
  20. in this day and age i'd be really suspicious of anyone who requests or only accepts cash through the mail. aside from the greedy and shady USPS workers, as the buyer your ass isn't covered in case the seller just steals your money. the simpsons episode comes to mind where Bart's class takes a field trip to the post office, the postmaster opens a door and there are a bunch of mailmen sitting in a circle opening up mail looking for birthday/anniversary/wedding gifts.
  21. it will magically disappear from the site around the time hotcash starts up again
  22. same thing with the hot topic near me. one douchebag, who posts here, would go in and buy up all the exclusive colors and/or pressings for nearly every release. however many copies the store got in, whether it be 10 or 2 he would buy and flip on ebay or even try flipping here with no luck. he literally listed out 5 copies of Your Favorite Weapon in the same thread and people shit all over him, including me. he did get a bit of karma though, as he bought at least 5 copies of Your Favorite Weapon and the first exclusive of Artist In The Ambulance and either couldnt flip them fast enough or didnt get what he wanted for them. so he was stuck with them for a loooong time and likely still is unless he sold them for a loss. after a while i got tired of driving to the store only to find they were all gone. so o iorder online to save the hassle and guarantee i get a copy for non flipper prices. plus the store would never set one aside for me when i called which was lame. now i'm noticing the store i would go to is not even on the list of stores that gets copies of any exclusive anymore, hasnt been the Vheissu pressings.
