  1. Operating your business based on an illegal activity is not very honest. Exactly. Bootlegging is still illegal.
  2. I sent you my keepers the other day. I can send them again if you want.
  3. I need to pick this up. I loved Helium Head, and have no idea how this flew under my radar.
  4. There are some good people out there. The lady that lost her feels horrible. I think she is going to lose her license. The state is very strict about their child care giver policies.
  5. Thanks. We're happy she is safe. She seems to have had a great time. She just walked around and then went up to an old couple's house. They called the police and gave her cracker and some water.
  6. So the the lady had 5 children today. She has a slip and slide in a fenced off yard. There were 3 "older" children and 2 babies. She had to change the babies' diapers and left the 3 kids outside unsupervised. She didn't lock the gate. Apparently my daughter just pushed open that gate and walked out. She was wondering sound the streets and yards. I've gone through so many emotions today. Social services, local law enforcement, and the state are all investigating. I think she is screwed. The bad thing is I live is a very small town. The rumor mill is already spinning like crazy.
  7. So today was crazy. I got a call from my daughter's daycare around noon saying they lost my daughter. I went over there right away. She was gone for an hour and they found her half a mile away. She had no pants, shoes, or socks on. Just her shirt, hat, and underwear. She is only 23 months old. I live in the mountains, and along with the usual worries of cars and kidnappers, there were 2 mountain lions sighted in that neighborhood last night. The good thing is she is safe and ok. I feel like I was hit by a truck. The adrenaline running through me today was the most I have ever had. Now I need to find another daycare.
  8. It shouldn't be bad. In mid October Independence a Pass and Trail Ridge Road will most likely be closed. That's not a big deal though. I-70 will be just fine. We're supposed to have a nice fall this year. Let me know if you come to Estes Park we can grab a drink or something.
  9. I would drive a couple of hours more and stay in Glenwood Springs over Grand Junction. They have a nice hot springs, and you can day trip to Aspen ans see the Maroon Bells. If it is open, take the longer rout to Denver over Independence Pass. Once in Denver, make a day trip to Estes Park and go over Trail Ridge Road.
  10. Grievances will be released 10/9. The vinyl through Gilead Media. Container Ships was one of my favorite releases of 2012, and I can't wait for this! Preorder here 100 - Nebula $25 -SOLD OUT 350 - Red $17 550 - Black $17 New song "Backlit" here From Gilead Media: KOWLOON WALLED CITY will release their long-awaited new full-length this Fall. Grievances, their third album and first for Neurot Recordings, finds the San Francisco band at its artistic peak, having moved even further away from its sludgy, post-hardcore origins and toward a sparser, sadder, yet still de-tuned heaviness. This shift began with 2012’s critically successful Container Ships, which Lambgoat described as, “spacious,” and, “mildly hypnotic,” with a, “Shellac-like use of dead time and instrumentation,” and The Obelisk called, “cerebral in approach.” On Grievances, the band takes these elements to even greater extremes. The strings rattle. The guitars crackle and blister. The notes ring out, at turns bleak and beautiful — sometimes both at once. “We dug into this expansive, less distorted vibe. The songs are mostly slow and bummed out but we still want them to push, to have energy,” said vocalist/guitarist Scott Evans. Evans, together with guitarist Jon Howell, bassist Ian Miller, and drummer Jeff Fagundes spent over two years working on the seven songs for Grievances. The intense editing process weeded out about two albums’ worth of songs. Howell’s unusual chord changes and discordant aesthetic channel Unwound and Slint. Miller’s gritty bass adds a surprising layer of depth and melody, while Fagundes’ drums resonate in what sounds like an impossibly large room. Evans’ shouted vocals are raw with frustration and disappointment, but without the typical veneer of macho aggression. “We’re not interested in doing something that’s good enough — we want to do something that we believe is good,” said Miller. “With Scott’s concept and sonics and Jon’s playing and our rhythm section, we feel like should be able to do something interesting. But it’s hard work.” The concept of work forms the thematic foundation of the entire record, from the cover art to the title and the lyrics. Whereas previous KOWLOON WALLED CITY releases were largely inspired by the band’s hometown of San Francisco, Grievances focuses its attention on our complex relationships with work and the power our employment — and employers — have over us. As with KOWLOON WALLED CITY‘s previous releases, Evans recorded and mixed, starting in Sharkbite Studios and finishing in his own Antisleep Audio, both in Oakland. “We’re not a fancy band. There are no effects to speak of, no reverb, no delays,” said Evans. “We each play one guitar, one pedal, one amp. So there’s not much to hide behind. I try to respect that in our recording process and our recordings.” Grievances Track Listing: 1. Your Best Years 2. Grievances 3. Backlit 4. The Grift 5. White Walls 6. True Believer 7. 11. The video for "Put A Flower In Your Pocket" Is pretty awesome. https://youtu.be/3CyjGhVua_s?list=PLx6SjOMFZK3htbLxOALDvS4dtx1X-Qsil Also, if you haven't heard of Richard Swift, change that now.
  12. This beer is great. They make it every year. Last year they bought all the Count Chocula from the local grocery stores and everyone complained. This year they received all they need direct from the factory for free! Great dudes making great beer.
  13. Do Vegas to Utah to Colorado. Stop through Estes Park, CO (Rocky Mountain National Park) and that's where I live. It is beautiful here.
  14. Thrice did a last minute show in Colorado Springs on their way home when they were touring Beggars. They announced the morning of. There were maybe 50 people in the dive bar they played in. 2 years ago I attended Dallas Green for E town. Super intimate. The first year David Bazan did the house shows was awesome. The house in Denver he played at had the water turned off that day, so no one could use the bathroom. I saw Cursive at Trees in Dallas in 2004, and that was awesome. They still had their cellist. Tim got super wasted and at the end of the show he destroyed his guitar as the band just stood and watched. Horrible crowd though. Finally, Murder By Death plays at this old hotel in my hometown for 3 nights every January. It is the Stanley Hotel that the Shining is based off of. Everyone dresses up and they make a new whiskey drink every night. Basically it turns into a bunch of drunk people dancing and singing.
