  1. I was super excited for Colossus--been wanting to play it since reading about it in EGM like 13 years ago--but I am extremely disappointed. I was anticipating getting the platinum but as soon as I finished the story I shelved it. The camera and controls are way too frustrating to completely enjoy the game. Maybe I'll try it again in a year or so. Love the concept though.
  2. I was wondering why they didn't have a box or package option, this explains it. I wonder why it didn't just go up with everything else though. Oh well, better safe than sorry ordering these while I have the heads-up
  3. The represses of the first three albums just went up in stealth: https://www.dinealonestore.com/collections/wintersleep The colored variants are limited to just 150 apiece, so get on it before their social media accounts post about it! Otherwise, black vinyl doesn't seem to be limited and is 180g. All records come with a 7 inch of b-sides. Shipping absolutely sucks if you're in the USA.
  4. I was totally going to just pass this record over due to the last two being unlistenable, but I'm glad you all posted about it. This is a really great album.
  5. Damn these songs sound straight out of 2005 and I'm loving every second of it
  6. Forever waiting on Steel Train's Trampoline... If I remember correctly, it was "supposed" to be pressed about 4 or so years ago, wonder what happened with that.
  7. Anyone who didn't fall into the Wii U trap owes it to themselves to play Tropical Freeze when it comes out, if you like that kind of game. It's a masterpiece in every way. I already own it and even the port makes me want to buy a Switch. Really hoping this means there will be a follow-up next year.
  8. Next time I get to Canada I challenge you to a match of Gooey Louie! First to pop the brain gets a wishlist record for the other person. Glad you enjoyed it all.
  9. A really awesome collection. I admire the dedication. Super cool to see.
  10. I didn't know this. I didn't even know that he was out of prison. Two years incarcerated seems awfully short for soliciting murder, but what do I know. He's also already remarried. What a world. For anyone curious as I was: (posted on December 17, 2017) Words cannot begin to express how deeply sorry I am for the hurt that I have caused. There is no defense for what I did, and I look back on the person I became with as much disdain as many of you likely do. First, I apologize to my former wife and remarkable children for my appalling actions. There’s not a single day that goes by where I don’t wish I could undo the damage I caused, and out of respect for their wishes I will not discuss anything else about them (now or in the future). I also ask anyone reading this to promote healing for them by respecting their privacy and defending them from any negativity or anger which should be directed towards me. I was the sole offender and the only one to blame for everything that happened. To my family, I apologize for the trauma you faced and may still feel. This is an ongoing sentence many of you serve because of me. I am so sorry to my friends who were betrayed by everything I hid from them and all the hardships I caused people who used to work with me. Band mates, road crew, managers, attorneys, agents, label people, and more all had to suffer through many unexpected changes because of my actions. While they were dealing with the aftermath of my arrest, I responded toward many of them with bitterness that I should have directed toward myself. I know that I can’t undo the animosity I brought their way, but I hope to mend what I can now as time goes on. To the people who looked up to me as an artist, I let you down in so many ways. I tried to show my best side to the public, while feeding an ugly growing monster behind closed doors. I wrote lyrics about the person I wanted to be rather than the person that I was. I was living a life that lacked empathy and viewed everything through a self-motivated lens. I cannot say for certain what life looks like going forward as so much is different now and I’m still learning. Music always has and always will be a part of me, and has helped me get through the darkest parts of my journey. However, this apology is not a part of promoting anything. Rumors circulate, and that’s something I’ve learned to accept, but this apology is just that, an apology to everyone around me. I’ve remained silent to the public since expressing remorse at my sentencing because time seemed like the best way to promote healing. Today marks the first opportunity to freely apologize without any motivation to gain favor from the courts, as I have now completed the entirety of my legal sentence (including the completion of all parole/probation requirements). Let it be clear that no amount of time served can right my wrongs. I do not feel deserving of a second chance and am not asking for anyone’s trust. The way many people feel about me makes sense, and only time will tell if my future actions line up with my remorse, something I pray for every day. In the last five years, the ripple effect of all my actions has extended further than a written statement can address. Thus, I will continue to apologize in both words and actions moving forward. Thank you for reading, Tim
  11. Truly an awesome gift and I super appreciate it all. Also, I forgot to say it but incredible eyes spying that waiter you vultures was the ONLY ptm record I didn't own. I have zero idea how you waded through my bullshit list and caught that one outlying thing. I actually didn't even know myself until I went to add it to the collection. Took a brief listen to The Epic on spotify and I'm going to wait to listen to the rest until I can pick it up on vinyl. Incredible stuff. I owe you big time for the introduction, man. Thanks for everything again.
  12. Merry Cringemas, I made a video. I was going to post pictures as is usual, but I had such a visceral reaction to the magic fish that I felt it needed to be documented. Unfortunately, I had obviously already seen it at that point but the rest is live. It was all opened Christmas night. I still don't know what a "false" fortune means, as every other option makes sense on its own except for that one, but so is life I suppose. My Santaman is very obviously Jared @Youinreverse this year, and I can NOT thank you enough. As is clear in the video, I am super lucky to have had you as a match this time around and you went above and beyond with your generosity. I'm not picky about my music, but I am a super weirdo and can only listen to certain types of music at certain times of year. Because of this, some records I haven't gotten to yet (this is a very jazzy time of year), but I am already OBSESSED with the Kamasi Washington record. What a fantastic choice that was, and I'm loving how classic and beautiful the Thelonious Monk record sounds as well. I have sampled the Built to Spill records (I quite like what I heard, a very different sounding band than what I had conjured up in my mind) and I will listen to them in February/March, as that seems a great time of year for them. My friend Shazo will hold me to it. You really knocked it out of the park with some spectacular picks and I am so appreciative. Hope you had a Merry Christmas, and have a great new year my friend
  13. Well it seems as though everyone on my team has either received their gift or I am in communication with them and it will be to them shortly. Just a friendly reminder to everyone that once the hectic hollydaze are over in the next couple of days to post a picture with your haul. Can't wait to see what everyone got. Most importantly, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! to all of you and your families. Thank you to everyone for participating in my favorite time of year on VC
  14. I thought the movie was incredible, minus a few details. I very, very much enjoyed the turning of expectations on their head. I think Rian was incredibly ballsy to pull off some of the things he did, and for me they worked to spectacular and surprising effect. Regardless of like or dislike though, I don't think there's any doubt that this is the most visually arresting movie in the franchise, and for that reason alone I am a little sad waiting for episode 9 because I don't think JJ can match it in that respect.
  15. Is that a map where you scratch off all the countries you've been to? Looks similar to something I once bought for a friend. A really neat idea, if so.
  16. Santa! I thank you for the heavy-ass package, I got it in the mail this weekend. I always wait until Christmas to open, so I'll be posting after then, but I wanted you to know I got it safe and sound.
  17. UTU2TM? episode 24!!!!!!!!! I'd start listening already but I can't for the life of me remember any of the band members' names...
  18. Damn where are you all getting this luck? Got held up at work and missed VIP by 10 minutes--not a big deal I've done that rodeo before--but I wanted my record that I paid essentially $80 for. "Too bad," was their response. Left empty handed.
  19. Really great single and excited for the album. Just wish Brassy Sun was on this record, I need that song on wax
  20. Looks to be the same variant as the odd-one-out in the screenprint bundle, as most of us speculated. Cool. Didn't miss out on anything
  21. What up what up. I put my about me off every year because I barely understand myself, sorry for the delay. My name is Brandon. 26, AZ. Live alone, no pets. TV/Cinema: The Good Place, Fargo, Stranger Things, Brooklyn-99, Last Man on Earth, Narcos. I don't watch a whole lot of movies. Maybe one or two a year. Books: Anything by a comedian, and nonfiction only otherwise. I read comics too. Paper girls, Reborn, Batman, Justice League, Wonder Woman. Don't really care too much for Marvel, personally. Music: My tradelist should give you a really good idea about my likes and dislikes, but my favorites are Circa Survive, City and Colour, Mutemath, St. Lucia, Grouplove, The National, Death Cab for Cutie, Jose Gonzalez, etc etc blah blah blah. I realize I am very fortunate and pretty much already own everything I really want aside from a few nonlimited odds and ends that I just never picked up. I am a challenge in this department. So, if you decide to go down a musical route, it may help to say that I really enjoy jazz--a lot--but I don't own any on vinyl. Same goes for vaporwave. If I'm not listening to music, I'm listening to a podcast. Comedy Bang! Bang!, Hollywood Handbook, U Talkin' U2 To Me?, Pistol Shrimps Radio, and the Monday Morning Podcast. It is never ever silent in my house. I really enjoy playing my PS4 with my friends. The Destiny franchise seems to be my mainstay but I'm constantly working my way through all sorts of other games as well. I like puzzle and logic games; I'm obsessed with nonograms. I quite enjoy playing board games as well, and have recently been looking for some new ones to play with my girlfriend and parents. I have an appreciation for design, photography, architecture, and minimalism. I don't drink alcohol, and can't stand fantasy or medieval themed things, so that's really the only parameter I'll put on things. If I think of anything else in the next couple of days, I'll add an edit at the bottom of this and make another post so you know it's there. That's essentially it, though. I don't know. I know I don't post a whole lot either so I fit squarely into one of two distinct secret santa categories depending on the person: "This is great, what a challenge," or, "I hate this guy, I don't know anything about him. What did I do to deserve this match?" Either way, I appreciate you. Thanks.
  22. I appreciate everyone who has posted so far. Thank you! To my SS: I will write mine when I get some quality time this weekend.
