  1. Crown of Thornz is pretty legendary for this. I'm amazed Cipher is still around, I used to do 'Model Congress' events w/ Moe and some ex-members like 15 years ago. Extremely smart dude. We were a bunch of mega nerds. A ton of European bands picked up on it as well -- go find the Area 51 2xCD comp that Victory put out in the late 90s and you'll find plenty of bands in that ilk. Also, see Commin' Correct, 25 ta Life, and Krutch.
  2. I love them, but I loved them more before I bought a house in the woods that's almost entirely surrounded by very big trees on three sides. Two years ago the upper third of a massive tree got sheared off by a huge wind gust and when it fell, it basically covered my entire backyard and brushed up against our deck. If it was about 10 feet closer to the house, it probably would have sawed the thing into two.
  3. These songs are great! Just put up a post about the release on Pastepunk.
  4. Been a subscriber since the beginning and do almost all of purchasing through there. They've some technical issues lately, but nothing horrible.
  5. Wrote a review of this today -- http://www.pastepunk.com/site/ceremony-rohnert-park/ -- I have to believe "Doldrums" was written with some clear inspiration in mind.
  6. With FB on Android, sometimes you'll need to clear your app's cache (it's the program management settings).
  7. cool. how does the itunes thing work? http://www.gmote.org/ That explains the software. It turns your computer into a media server and you can access your media files on the phone, which allows you to control commands.
  8. I looooooove my Incredible. The touch keyboard is wonderful. As for apps, I only run a few, just the Weather Channel one, Gmote (to control my iTunes), Droidlight, Air Hockey EM, Live Scores, and Skyfire. My wife has the regular Droid and the Incredible is way, waaaay faster w/ the Snapdragon processor.
  9. Stoked to see Hopeless sign a band with a bit of urgency in them. Last release they had from an fast-paced band was Amber Pacific and that was five years ago!
  10. When I have to head into our agency's headquarters, it's business casual (and a suit for going to court); otherwise I work at home full time... jeans, t-shirt, flip flops... couldn't ask for a better situation.
  11. The three songs are super solid... no rust from the band at all.
  12. Great move. The band seems to finally appreciate the fact that they have the capability to entertain on a grand level, adding Franz is perfect.
  13. Jordan, that's definitely one of the excellent tracks, but I did an LP with 39 other great songs on it too...(shameless plug: http://www.storenvy.com/products/11730-x-one-way-x-s-t-lp-cd) Yea, I'm gonna have to investigate this further...
  14. "Generic Hardcore Song" nearly had me in tears... can't believe I hadn't heard that before. Even better than Good Clean Fun's take on the same theme.
  15. All-American is amazing. Used to make trips there to lunch during high school (from Wantagh). It was a manic race to get there and back in time...
  16. I've heard second hand information that they will at some point. Bane specifically didn't give At Both Ends zine digital rights to the two exclusive songs on their double 7". Probably not the best of hints, but they definitely have enough material for a full-length collection CD.
  17. When I was 18 in 1998. It was a Motorola that barely fit in my pocket.
  18. I went to Breezes in Nassau (Bahamas) - it's a tick down from Sandals, but a good deal cheaper. All-inclusive, nice beach, and very close to town. A casino is next door at the Wyndham.
  19. I thought that too, but they played chicago like a year and a half ago and we thought they were going to break up on stage, aaron just sat on the stage between songs, no one talked, it was REALLY uncomfortable. Maybe someone was just really gassy in the van... I can relate though, I went to a few shows ages ago where the bands were clearing having issues. I saw Indecision a couple of shows before they called it quits while stranded out in the Arizona dessert and it didn't surprise me at all. They were at each others throats after the set, yelling at each other about loading out, etc. During the set, they barely made any kind of eye contact at all. Toxic environment.
  20. I don't think Bane does bad sets, ever. It's just seems impossible at this point. Would be kind of interesting experiment to put them in a room with a crowd where no one has heard them before....
