Complete letdown for me
Surprised/bummed to hear that. Everyone's entitled to their opinion.
I personally can't stop listening to this record. I LOVED their first album, but as a whole I think this one is even better.

I slept on this like a dip-shit. If you have a copy and are willing to part with it you'd make my day!

Anyone see that this album is nominated for a Grammy for Album of the Year in the same category as Drake, Bieber, Beyonce, and Adele....
Loved this album when it came out but I saw him live this summer and it was terrible and haven't revisited it since...
4 hours ago, BoopsRecords said:I also saw him twice this summer, once at a festival and then another time with Sturgill headlining. I also thought both times it was a lackluster show. I wouldn't go see him live again.
I hate to agree with the comments regarding this string of shows. I've listened to this dude for quite awhile, and though each record is very different from the last, I love all three. I went to the date at the Ryman and was pretty disappointed with the show. I was mentally exhausted at the end of it. I didn't go to see a jam band.
That being said, every other time i have seen this dude it was a GREAT experience, albeit each time was in a much smaller venue than the Ryman. Definitely don't think this dude should be written off for having one lackluster tour. MSICM is hands down one of the best records to come out in the last decade.

I would also like to know the answer to this

Just saw that Mark Kozelek was added to his show at the Ryman in Nashville. Very, very cool.

I thought Universal (or whoever now) owned most of these albums, so I don't think it's entirely T&N/SS fault. I do think upping the price a few days after is kinda stupid though.
It is T&N's fault that they no longer own these records...and (presumably) have to pay royalties, hence inflating the price. I would assume that they have the power to set the final price as well, or decide to continuously adjust the price.
Regardless, $33, or even $29 + shipping is too much money for a single record. Just me being a crotchety old man.

per T&N on FB, the original $25 price was an error. they're reducing the intended price of $33 to $29 now, though.
That's a total crock of shit. That's something that would be so hard to fuck up...and then not correct for multiple days.
This second press release is a total fucking joke. I want this record, but seriously, fuck T&N.

That box does look great. I just bought tickets this week to see Conor play solo at the Ryman in Nashville...so odd timing to see this pop up. Would love to see another Bright Eyes tour eventually.

Bumping this thread b/c this record kicks ass and is my AOTY so far
-
Bumping this b/c this dude gave me an awesome deal as well.
Packed the records like a tank too

My high school aged brain probably would have imploded if I got a glimpse at what I listen to now.
I've gotten really into old country the last few years, particularly George Jones. I've listened to GJ more than any other artist/band in the last 3-4 years. If you're into country and haven't taken the time to listen to early Jones, you're fucking up big time.

Sounds like he made a conscious decision to write/sing a Gaslight Anthem song...I don't hate it though
-
but good luck w/ the sale
-
You should spin that Horse Feathers record and then rethink selling it.

I love just about everything Bazan has put out, but I just haven't been able to get into Blanco. Either way, I will purchase this record and hope for the best. Hoping this record is a return to form.
