wonder if this one will incorporate as many electronic elements as blanco. I enjoyed that album much more than I expected.

I love just about everything Bazan has put out, but I just haven't been able to get into Blanco.  Either way, I will purchase this record and hope for the best.  Hoping this record is a return to form.

  2. Susto's second full-length record is out today.

Anyone see that this album is nominated for a Grammy for Album of the Year in the same category as Drake, Bieber, Beyonce, and Adele....

Loved this album when it came out but I saw him live this summer and it was terrible and haven't revisited it since...

I also saw him twice this summer, once at a festival and then another time with Sturgill headlining.  I also thought both times it was a lackluster show.  I wouldn't go see him live again.

I hate to agree with the comments regarding this string of shows.  I've listened to this dude for quite awhile, and though each record is very different from the last, I love all three.  I went to the date at the Ryman and was pretty disappointed with the show.  I was mentally exhausted at the end of it.  I didn't go to see a jam band.

That being said, every other time i have seen this dude it was a GREAT experience, albeit each time was in a much smaller venue than the Ryman.  Definitely don't think this dude should be written off for having one lackluster tour.  MSICM is hands down one of the best records to come out in the last decade.

I thought Universal (or whoever now) owned most of these albums, so I don't think it's entirely T&N/SS fault. I do think upping the price a few days after is kinda stupid though.

It is T&N's fault that they no longer own these records...and (presumably) have to pay royalties, hence inflating the price.  I would assume that they have the power to set the final price as well, or decide to continuously adjust the price.

Regardless, $33, or even $29 + shipping is too much money for a single record.  Just me being a crotchety old man.

  5. My high school aged brain probably would have imploded if I got a glimpse at what I listen to now.

I've gotten really into old country the last few years, particularly George Jones.  I've listened to GJ more than any other artist/band in the last 3-4 years.  If you're into country and haven't taken the time to listen to early Jones, you're fucking up big time.
