i saw them play Robot Factory once a long time ago, right after Bleed American came out and it was awesome. the last time I saw them play they were so bad that i've sworn to not ever see them live again. for two reasons: 1)Tom was either drunk or stoned so badly that when they played Bleed American Hits I didn't know what the fuck they were playing...until the chorus hit then i was revolted...besides that the band kind of phoned in their performance as a whole anyway. (this was the Flower 15 fest show) so I was so bummed out that they could be so bad i went home and didn't stay for the late show to see the Smoking Popes. major bummer. 2)the biggest place i've seen them is the Metro and to me, that bands is about live crowd-band dynamics and they can barely achieve this at Metro, i don't want to wast my time seeing them at an arena. despite all my naysaying I still do buy their records, i just don't plan on ever seeing them live again and further ruining my opinion of them.

many years ago i went to go see Spring Heeled Jack and had the horn section sign my SHJ CD in addition to the Amazing Royal Crowns full length because they play on the song 'Do the Devil' and all of them were like "OH MAN, I'd be honored to sign that record!" I got a good laugh out of that one. I'm not really into autographs anymore, but i'm sure that it's not a totally unfamiliar thing for the Weakerthans now. So I wouldn't feel too self conscious about doing that...chances are it's not going raise it's value.

as long as it isn't me/my label ...i'd say file the claim. Especially with Myspace or other forums where you know they read it...that bugs me too. Money is money. We've probably all had that happen, it sucks, but fuck it, that's what you use Paypal for...payment protection.

i was the total dick and was barely at 1982...i went to the venue to see shot baker then got suckered into doing merch for them...so i din't even get to watch naked raygun...and also missed o pioneers because of this.,,,whhich i was bummed about because their new songs are awesome....well the ones they played in Chicago area last...Eric was so stressed out. I kinda felt bad. and yeah...there wasn't a planned meeting...Aaron was just like, hey that's Ben Conoley go say hello, he was asking about you...then Scott was there...then Kirby...then we all said hello to each other and Scott broke out the camera. I wish we would have planned a meet up that would have been awesome!

the second time the o pioneers were in chicago I took them to where the Championship Vinyl store was at...eric was pretty stoked. aaron was freaking out about all the cute girls and trying to convince them to come to the show! it was hilarious.

Settle Down City on black Those guys were rad, but they just make me miss Breather Resist even more. really? I think YM is waaaaaay better than BR. the only song I really liked of theirs was the song with the looped bass line that is like track 9 on 'Charmer'.

Still en route home. Fuck US Airways. 2 botched plane connections...well one botched and now one mysteriously where my ticket was cancelled so I'm boarding a later flight in a few. Honestly one of the most inspiring weekends of my life. I'll post a list of the bands I saw tomorrow night after work! I just wish that the Holiday Inn hadn't gotten wrecked. singer was in a white power band as a teenager and tries to deny it. I heard he finally fessed up sometime before they broke up...but that was never confirmed. i cast my vote for the almighty jawbreaker cause Blake isn't doing shit these days and i haven't heard about Adam and Chris doing anything music related lately.

Big Wig hasn't "broken up" they just can't tour because of family obligations, I was talking with my friend Jeff on Saturday because he was asked to go on tour with them on second guitar in Europe...so that might happen. The singer may put together a touring line up. I'm personally not a fan, but figured I'd share that info.
