with that preamp do i need to get a receiver as well or can i just hook up the speakers directly to the preamp?

I just picked up a Kenwood KD-35R turntable and I am looking for a solid receiver with phono input built in as well as some decent speakers. no book with mine either and my order even says LP+book. I believe it even cost a few extra dollars than just the regular LP.
