BEST: Bright Eyes, Cursive, Desaparecidos and more in Omaha two summers ago. Bright Eyes in Toronto on the last tour. Just the best performance I've ever seen. Lawrence Arms 10th Anniversary show in Chicago. I've never been that stoked to see a band play for that long. I gave up the Fest that year to go to that show and don't regret it for a second. The Menzingers at FEST 9. They played at the Venue, everyone flooded the stage for A Lesson, all around just an amazing set. Hot Water Music in London Ontario this past spring (?). Descendents were playing in Toronto that night so the show was under attended but it made it 100x better in my opinion. La Dispute/Balance and Composure/Make Do and Mend in Toronto this past June I want to say? Regardless, such a perfect bill, everyone sounded amazing. FEST 7. Got a plane ticket for my 18th birthday and had probably the best weekend of my life. First time I saw Iron Chic (who played at the kickstand by the way) and The Lawrence Arms set was nuts too. WORST By FAR both times I've seen the Gaslight Anthem. First time was at Call the Office in London and I've never heard a band sound worse or play so sloppy. The second time was in Toronto in a massive venue right after their newest record. I left halfway through the set. I was SUPER let down with Banner Pilot's performance at the Fest 7 I think it was. I was looking forward to seeing them so badly and they just seemed unenthused and the drummer was a mess. I still wan't to see them again as I'm hoping it was just a fluke bad set.

Got my clock version in the mail. REALLY bummed on whoever thought that was an ok way to pack and ship a record. It was put into a larger box diagonally and I had to cut the box as it was jammed in sideways so hard. Every edge of the sleeve is completely worn and bent in.

I'll be getting around to this hopefully later in the week.

There were ins and outs until a certain time. Doors were at 6 and I think you could get in and out until 7 to stash stuff. There were a ton of records because I waited the entire show and still got a copy of Down... at the very end. Tons of merch too, literally probably about 25-30 boxes. Colin of Arabia was hilarious. The AN set was nuts, the entire room went off. Opened with the intro from Down right into Love American. The mic got busted in the first song and the next two everyone was so loud and didn't even matter. Stupid fight on stage right before their last song kind of put a bit of a damper on things but still such a great set.

Kitchener/Waterloo Ontario ENCORE RECORDS 54 Queen Street South Kitchener, Ontario Canada Pretty decent new selection, lots of indie stuff, decent amount of metal LP's and an ok punk selection. There's a bunch of used stuff scattered around the store that you can usually find something decent in. Orange Monkey 5 Princess street west Waterloo, Ontario Canada This place is incredible. Tons of new and used stuff for how small the shop is. Great prices and awesome staff. Only issue is the guys who own the place don't really care for keeping regular hours. There are hours on the door but any given day you could show up during those times and it could be closed.

Boston isn't well liked up here in Canada. Canadians seem to love Canadian teams even through most of them are trash and full of chumps. Personally, I'm not particularly into Boston but I think when they are playing their gritty style they are one of the best teams in the league. Lots of people call them "dirty" or whatever but I just think they play a game no one else does well and it wins them games. When it came to the finals last year I was cheering Bruins. I hate Luongo, the Sedins are a joke and Boston put them in their place.
