  1. Here's a link to the tape a friend uploaded. They're not selling these so I feel like it's cool to post: http://www.mediafire.com/?he10skzzi5ba6jw
  2. This record is still blowing me away constantly. So good.
  3. Nashville did great Buffalo is definitely gaining a solid player which they do need right now BUT getting to watch Kassian play in the OHL that guy will be fucking incredible in the NHL. He's gritty, tough as nails and can make plays happen. I think he's honestly going to be one of the NHL's top power forwards in 3-5 years. He's had some problems both on and off the ice but under the right coaching staff he could be great. Plus, Vancouver is full of fucking dolls, they need grit.
  4. THE SHAPE OF THINGS - adapted from a play, super awesome, ending rules. Early Paul Rudd. Whether you like him or not it's super worth the watch. Much of the cast was from the stage play too so the acting is at times sub-par but the story is fantastic. BREAKING UPWARDS - about a couple who after 4+ years of dating are attempting to break up. Sappy but I'm a sucker for that shit, overall solid watch though. I also back Lilyhammer and X-Files.
  5. That's crazy^ Chris especially is one of the nicest dudes ever, and Scott is equally as awesome.
  6. Such an awful schedule. Friday is packed with conflicts and sunday there's nothing I want to see. Also, there's nothing I hate more than the single show ticket sales at festivals. It'll be a shitstorm if a $60 3 day pass holder misses Hot Water Music or someone of that level.
  7. I'm new to posting, but not to the board. Good to see Cully is getting a little love. I've known him for a few years. Great guy and great drummer. He's got a nice resume. You can find his drumming on releases from Zookeeper, Bishop Allen, The Gutter Twins, Twilight Singers, Zykos and Shearwater. He's the full time drummer for Cursive and Okkervil River now. Pretty busy guy. Bummer so many people were opposed to the change, he's in my top 5 most enjoyable drummers to watch play.
  8. Fuck, sold out before I got paid yesterday. If anyone has a spare ticket or two, I'd love to take it off your hands
  9. The drums is easily the most noticeable part. In headphones I thought they sounded dead but I was playing the CD in the car the other day and they sounded awesome. Also, I don't get the hate on the newer drummer. He is technically far more gifted, live he's awesome to watch (watching him play I Couldn't Love You live makes me think I can't even really play drums), and on record he plays to the songs so well. I couldn't believe the shitstorm he faced when he joined the band.
  10. Yeah he gave me the same alternative but I think every would send the cash. The effort is appreciated though
  11. So this shit sold out before I got paid yesterday. If anyone is willing to spare a ticket, preferably a few, I would love to go to this. [email protected]
  12. I invert every pitchfork rating and that's usually much closer to what the record is actually like for me. That review was a lose/lose for Cursive and they do the same shit to every Bright Eyes review as well. They're both damned for not doing what they have already done but if they actually did decide to do something similar to the old, they'd be damned for being unoriginal. The guy personally didn't like the concept and that had him not listening to anything. He didn't comment on the actual recording, hardly touched on song writing (only to whine) and was generally dismissive the entire time. But the website has a habit of making themselves look fucking stupid so I wasn't overly surprised. They also gave the last Bright Eyes record a piss-poor review and I think it's easily the best thing they've done in a long time. A big thing I noticed with this record though which may have something to do with how it will be received by these critics: I think it sounds shitty in headphones. The drums and bass have no real presence in earbuds, especially the drums. The difference from having it on the turntable or playing in the car is HUGE. Laptop speakers/ipod headphones don't do it justice.
  13. He is making the effort to fix this. He just sent me a full refund and is sending the records out again. When I get them he said I could pay him, which is fair enough for me. After the recordhound nightmare I'm happy to see this guy put forth the effort to fix this.
  14. Thanks for the facebook link. Goddam, recordhound and now this, I've been proven a sucker lately.
  15. Ahhh fuck, I bought 3. Same deal. It's been nearly a month. I don't want this to be a slander thing because he seemed super nice and I sent him records last month and he was super courteous but anyone in the same boat?
  16. Hey, I'm just looking to get a hold of andrewx/unknownandy if anyone knows him personally or has an email. He hasn't logged on in a couple weeks and I tried the email linked to his paypal and got no response. I just need to sort something out. Any help is appreciated.
  17. Went to an Oktoberfest once and spent $80 on candy apples and caramel corn. It took pictures a few days later to confirm where the money went because I showed up drunk and so they x'd my hands so I knew it wasn't from buying beer.
  18. Ahh I think NY is going to take Nash. If they do they would be an even crazier team
  19. Quebec City is also rumoured to be in the running
