  1. What were B&C and LD playing set wise last night? Specifically what is La Dispute playing off Wildlife?

  3. Picked up the 10"s. Gave me an excuse to also grab the Cursive picture disk.
  4. I think it's awesome. To the point, no bullshit, just great songs. The only fault of the S/T was songs got too carried away at points. This is exactly what I wanted to hear from them. Love the sounds too, including the weird mixing. It just makes the record sound more interesting. Changing drum and guitar tone to suit the songs I think was a great move as well. You never hear that anymore. I feel like I'm only going to like it more as time goes on. Plus, that cover? Fuck, I never dreamed it could be as good as they made it.
  5. If anyone is going to any of the early dates on the La Dispute/Balance and Composure tour and would be willing to pick me up the Balance and Composure acoustic 7" and the La Dispute conversations EP I would be super grateful and willing to add extra cash (maybe cover your ticket?) I live in Canada and will fully cover postage etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PM me.
  6. If you want to hit the tourist aspect of Paris, I highly recommend the Paris Pass. I don't know what your budget is like but I bought the 2 day pass and it was awesome. I woke up at 630am everyday and didn't come back to my hostel until midnight and it was a blast. I was seeing 10-15 attractions a day. Best part about it is busses run for 12 hours a day hitting 7 or 8 of the major attractions every 15 minutes. You can hop on at the eiffel tower and take it to the Louvre and so on. It is super touristy but it's all stuff I found really enjoyable. Plus, I was there for a week so I did my tourist days and my personal days. If you want to hit the Louvre and fully take it in, you'll need basically two days. I flew through it and now wish I had more time there. As for other attractions there I really loved the Shakespeare bookstore. One of the best bookstores I have ever been in. Plus it houses writers upstairs rent free while their working on their craft. I hit a bunch of Cafes with historical relevance to my interest and took some time just snapping pictures and enjoying being there. Plus, being Canadian I had to learn French in school so it was super easy to get around and interact and their subway system is flawless. Bummer you are missing Poland, I lived there for 3.5 months last year and it was fantastic. Can't wait to go back. Italy I found great for eating/drinking but not to great attraction wise and it is definitely a very odd culture. Be happy you're not traveling there with your girlfriend. I was with mine and knew some Italian and goddam those guys will say whatever is on their mind. http://www.parispass.com/
  7. I'd love to see Dallas take it, I don't want the Sharks in there at all, they're garbage. The east is all I'm watching. Keep the Leafs out and I'm hoping so much that Winnipeg makes it. The support for that team has been incredible this year and I feel like it's an organization and a fanbase that would be super proud to get in there, even if they go out early.
  8. I never really took the kickstarter as simply an online store for the band/release. Is $99 too much for that stuff? As simply the products themselves yeah of course, we get the argument but I think it misses the point completely. When they design a kickstarter they are putting together price points that are realistic for people to want to donate. $100 is a prime price point in attracting reasonably large donations. I have bands I like that I may not be able to donate $250 but I could handle more than $50. I also don't expect them to have to win me over in this decision. If I'm even considering donating $100 it is because I genuinely really enjoy the band and the "rewards" come second to my intentions of simply supporting the project. It really does not matter what you think their record is worth. We understand you see it as a piece of plastic, manufactured for a few bucks a unit and housed in some cardboard sleeve but to some other kid it means a lot more. Maybe even $100 more. I wish I had a fan base that wanted to see my band put out a new record so desperately that they would be willing to donate this sort of money. Hell, I wish everyone went to the lengths the Christian demographic goes to to enjoy and consume music and support their favourite artists. Do I even like or care about this band at all? No and clearly neither do many people here so really what's the issue? The guy has a fucking kid and a wife to think about. I stay off tour just because I'm unsure I'd make rent the next month, I can't imagine having to provide for a family. They want to tour but they can't and so they also get shit for using the extra money to do that? Who cares? Again, this effects us in absolutely no way. You're trying to show their fans that they are being taken for a ride? What are these guys supposed to be abusing? People gave them this money knowing exactly what it would be used for, the dude literally explains it all in that video. I just understand this sad attempt to try and take down this project, is it jealousy that people care about this band? There is no rational explanation. These people will buy/fund/support whatever they want to and it is a waste of time to try and have them think otherwise. I just don't get trying to take down a band for doing what they want to do fuelled solely by the support of those who want to see them do it.

  10. I always forget there are real people on message boards. Congrats on the baby!
  11. Hoping the Islanders win and Toronto loses just so a team as pathetic as the Isles catch up to Toronto. Burke is one of the worst GM's in the history of the game.
  12. I hate that I'm so addicted to a show that is so bad. There hasn't been a good episode at all the season.
  13. Stillllllllllllllllllllll nothingggggggggggggggggg It's actually getting so long I keep forgetting about it
  14. No Sleep answered a tumblr question today saying these will ship this week.
  15. Just picked up a 1978 Marshall 412 loaded with Celestion Black Backs for $475. Probably the best purchase I've ever made.
  16. It likely wasn't Var's complete choice to wait. Most contracts would have stuff built into them prohibiting any other release around the same time as the record on their label. I think the same thing happened with the last Trio record and Skiba's Demos out on Asian Man. The Asian Man release sat around complete forever until they had the green light to dish it out.
  17. + played a fun show last night + won a spot in a friends wedding party for being the fastest chugger - My entire day was a write off - first time I puked during a hangover in a long time + discovered there's a second season of Luther
  18. Wide Awake is probably #2 or #3 in my all time favourite records. Bright Eyes LPs" 1. Wide Awake 2. Lifted 3. People's key 4. Fevers 5. Letting Off 6. Collection of Songs 7. Cassadaga 8. Digital Ash
  19. Saddle Creek does it again. These look fucking so good, amazing packaging, sound great. Cannot say enough good things about this release and the label. So happy to support a label this good. Here's some pictures I took:
  20. Blue looks awesome. Sounds great too. I ordered two copies if anyone wants to trade for a black Chamberlain Waits and a green A Lesson in Abuse... let me know
