  1. Arts & Crafts gets distributed to record stores in the US and I don't get the feeling that the "limited edition metallic jacket" is a pre-order exclusive only, so I'll wait to pick this up on release day at my record store. FYI - the Arts & Crafts issue of Creep On Creepin' On came in three different colored covers (black, green, and purple) and they were all on 180g white vinyl.
  2. Most of these blues artists only released singles during a given time period, so those types of comps are essential.
  3. Yeah, I think there was 3500 in the US and another bunch in the UK, probably totaling 5000 together; so not rare. Definitely my album of the year so far. I wouldn't call this "overlooked," though; it's pretty popular and has been received well.
  4. Here: http://merchnow.com/products/160720/in-utero-yellow-lp I think there's a coupon code too - HAPPY4th or similar - check Facebook.
  5. No need. The ORG sounds fantastic and is still readily available last I checked: http://www.orgmusic.com/store/nirvana-unplugged-in-new-york/
  6. A boot of the second show at the Felt Forum in New York (1970): http://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?pagenum=1&searchtext=%22Roadhouse+Blues%22&incldescr=&sortord=ddate&thumbs=&currsel= Haven't heard this one, but I recommend the recent issue of the first show at the Felt Forum from 2010 (R1 523104). Sounds incredible. I can't even listen to the album version of "Ship of Fools" anymore.
  7. Not Blind Melon: http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialReleases#'RSD First' Release
  8. Looks like non-fill... unfortunately a common thing from Rainbo.
  9. Maybe a total weight restriction? It's really an extra 40g counting all eight.
  10. Not sure how/if they are related, but 1972 is equally bad, digitally sourced crap (I own Jeopardy by The Sound). These labels make me furious simply because most of these are great titles with very expensive originals and now we won't see proper reissues for years.
  11. FYI, colored press of Moon Sick and new repress of Ty Segall s/t: Moon Sick: http://www.castlefacerecords.com/products/thee-oh-sees-moon-sick Ty: http://www.castlefacerecords.com/products/ty-segall-s-t-limited-edition Got the email this morning and they're still available.
  12. Digitally sourced, pressed at Rainbo... but it sounds ok... and is probably the best this will ever sound (I've heard that the original sounds awful). "Faultline" sounds particularly bad, though. Packaging is nice with the UV coating.
  13. Just ordered Blind Melon at Amazon UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00BYS0SL8/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1366568305&sr=8-2π=AA75 Hopefully this is legit and it's actually getting a wider release.
  14. Can anyone comment on the sound quality? Matrix/runout/pressing/mastering info?
  15. This doesn't necessarily mean that it's been delayed. MoFi is notorious for announcing titles they are going to release way before they actually get done.
  16. As far as boxes, I've used these in the past, since you can find them in most stores: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/624321/Office-Depot-Brand-Moving-Box-16/ Can almost fit one Expedit cube in one.
  17. It's not that it wasn't pressed well, sourced well, etc. It sounds exactly as it should. It's just a poor mastering in my opinion. Some people like it, though, and it's probably the best the mono is ever going to sound. Here is a needle drop: http://www.sendspace.com/file/oxuuo9
  18. Yeah, a lot of these Legacy Hendrix reissues are cut from analogue, pressed by Quality, and sound fantastic, e.g. the Live at Berkeley record. How they can sell these for less than $25 is beyond me. Avoid the recent mono AYE, though.
  19. Picked this up at Amoeba in SF today. It came shrink-wrapped with no damage to the packaging. Either way, I don't care about the flimsy cardboard. Nor do I care about the blurry cover. The record looks like it was pressed well and it sounds great; that's all that matters to me.
  20. Does anyone have a yellow copy to compare? If it actually does sound better (doubt it), I would definitely want to pick it up.
  21. Care to share the matrix info for the colored press of Boxer? My black US copy looks like this (cut by Wes Garland at Nashville Record Productions, pressed by United): BBQLP-252-A L-16562M-A WG/NRP Ⓤ BBQLP-252-B L-16562M-B WG/NRP Ⓤ Doesn't sound brilliant.
  22. A four-way covers split 7" from Trouble in Mind Records (as usual): A1 - JACCO GARDNER ("Always On My Mind" - Billy Nicholls) A2 - THE RESONARS ("It's Alright Ma, It's Only Witchcraft" - Fairport Convention) B1 - MMOSS ("Cathy's Clown" - Everly Brothers) B2 - MASTON ("I Go To Sleep" - The Kinks) Usually limited to 1000.
