I think the Zero single was probably one of my top 5 most listened to CDs in like 9th grade. I love that thing, and the other singles are all great too.

I was just listening to this the other day on the way to work and was thinking similar, especially if they did the UK track list with the "Ruiner" and "Heresy" remixes. Or, since it would have to be a double anyways, the US track list on the first three sides and the extra tracks from the UK on side 4. I happened to be home yesterday when the pre-sale for Newark went on sale so I figured I'd give it a shot; a friend and I were curious about going if the price was right. Once I saw the $99 price, we both bowed out. That seems a bit excessive, but I have no doubt the tour will have no problems selling out.

I like how the box itself looks, but I wish they had used the old artwork for each of the singles. Maybe modify them a bit like they have been instead of just replacing them outright with designs.

    This weekend's purchases:

Blackstar - Blackstar (unofficial release on clear vinyl)
Public Enemy - Yo! Bum Rush the Show!
Public Enemy - Night of the Living Baseheads 12"
Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five  - The Message 12"

I know there are others that I can't remember.

Oh, and I found my Breeders - Head to Toe 7"!  I bought it in '94 and thought I lost it when I moved two years ago.  That made my entire weekend!

crapforgenius got a reaction from verb1999 in Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar 2xLP red vinyl exclusive to Hot Topic
My copy arrived yesterday. First LP was slightly warped and the top right corner of the sleeve slightly crunched, but nothing terrible so I'm content with that. The color is fantastic and fits perfectly with the album art theme, so well played on that. Sound wise, it's been a while since I've listened to the album but it sounds fine to me - not a significant upgrade from the CD from what I remember, but an enjoyable listening experience.
However, and this is no one's fault, the side splits kill the fun for me. "Tourniquet" is supposed to seamlessly flow into "Little Horn" and "Angel With The Scabbed Wings" is supposed to be born out of the maelstrom at the end of "Mister Superstar", but with the side splits as they are - a necessity due to time constraints on each side, I get it - the overall effect of the album is ruined for me. Also, not having a little bit of editing done to make the ends/beginnings of each side a little less jarring - you can hear the end of "Tourniquet" at the beginning of "Little Horn", for example - is even more detrimental for me. (I don't have any other pressings of this one so maybe it's always been like that, but see something like 'The Downward Spiral' where the end of "Eraser" is extended a bit and the beginning of "Reptile" is smoothed out to make the lack of transition between the two less obvious. Does that make sense?)
I'm glad to have it and as a physical artifact it's a great representation of the album. However as a listening experience, it falls short for me and the CD will remain my go to whenever I feel the need to listen to this again.
That said, bring on "Portrait of an American Family" on a 2xLP and I am first in line.

The power...of Lard! Nice. Was in Philly last night for the Breeders show. Had a few good finds at Beautiful World Syndicate:
    Mansun - Six 2xLP $15
    Sunny Day Real Estate - LP2 (1995 pressing) $20
Monkees - Instant Replay (Rhino - sealed) $5
I'm glad it wasn't a bust as it took almost an hour to find parking around there with all the Cinco de Mayo nonsense going on.

the CD is coming out on 5/14, according to an e-mail I got from 4AD last month. the vinyl was delayed till late June/early July for the infamous "production issues"

btw, saw them in Philly on Sunday night and they were fantastic. Kim's voice is definitely not as strong as it once was, but the band was tight and they were having fun.

Pretty solid with one pass - certainly not as immediate or pop-focused as 'Hands', but a great laid back type affair. "Crescendo" is pretty magnificent. The vinyl appears to be sold out on her website, of course before I got chance to put in my pre-order. (When it went live I figured I had a while and focused on other things that were closer to release.) Hopefully she has copies with her next week.

Had a half hour to kill at the Princeton Record Exchange and store credit burning a hole in my pocket. Ended up with a VG+ Colgems Stereo copy of 'The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees' with original shrink for $11.99 and the US 3" CD single for the Sugarcubes "Coldsweat" for $1.99. The sleeve on the Sugarcubes single has the longbox part perforated off, but for $2 I couldn't pass as I didn't have some of the b-sides on CD. (Yay "Birthday (Icelandic)"!)

What the...it's not April Fool's Day yet! What a terrible album title and cover. Oh well.
The new single is alright, but I feel about it as I did 'Black Gives Way To Blue': just another hard rock band chugging along. Yes, AiC was Jerry's baby but for me Layne's voice was just as important to the success of the band. (And, for what it's worth, I didn't like the self-titled record very much either...or Mad Season or any of the Jerry solo records for that matter.)
In all seriousness, good for them for keeping it going but I think it's finally time to stop hoping that I'm going to be as excited about a new record from them as I was for the first few.

I figured a good place to make a first post would be in this topic. About half of these have been bought online, and the other half at local shops. I try to buy the common stuff at shops, which is why there are still some holes. Many different pressings from different countries, as well as promo pressings. I have yet to get my hands on a test press. Anyways, here's the "Weird Al" Yankovic portion of my record collection.
