  1. +1 in the good seller category for hempy3 good communication, super fast shipping
  2. Go on the record store day website and view the participating stores by state. I found a whole bunch of stores I never knew existed
  3. what Dropkicks and Rise Against do you have?
  4. I think they had a pretty decent amount of new stuff. most of it overpriced, but some good deals to find. Here's what I picked up MIA - /\/\ /\ Y /\ (180g, sealed, corners slightly bent) - $8 Ray Lamontagne - Trouble (sealed) - $13 Matisyahu - Youth (180g, promo) - $5 Tool - Undertow (sealed, corners slightly bent) - $8 Skadanks - Give Thanks - $4 Norah Jones - Come Away With Me - $12 Portishead - Portishead (sealed) - $8 Some of these prices may not have been the absolute best, but they were finds that made me happy, especially the Skadanks for being so random. Plus, I could never walk out with a score like this in a typical record store, and avoided dealing with shipping... so it was nice to leave with everything in-hand. Go in with a budget, support a good thing, and leave satisfied... great day in my opinion.
  5. free parking in the lot where the event is held. it's a pretty big lot
  6. the responded to my question on FB... you can get an ad/flyer at your local record store, coffee shop, or this week's Chicago Reader.
  7. any idea where to find an ad/flyer for the $5 admission? they used to have it on their site in past years, but I can't find it this year...
  8. anyone going? this will be my third straight year, and it happens to be their 10th anniversary. looking forward to it! http://chicagoindieradio.org/recordfair

  11. Revelation Records just announced Ignite and Farside exclusives: http://dyingscene.com/news/revelation-re....ord-store-da y/ I'm pretty stoked for Call on My Brothers
  12. I like Eyes Open better...wow, didn't realize it was OK to like Taylor Swift around these parts. I thought for sure I was going to get roasted for this one ;-)
  13. well hopefully this date stays firm... I thought it was supposed to come out this week. last time I checked it was 4/10. When i went back to look today, it was changed to 4/24.
  14. anyone else planning on getting this? looks like it comes out 4/24: http://www.amazon.com/The-Hunger-Games-Soundtrack/dp/B007IYWXTM/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1333984010&sr=8-14 I have the CD, and think it's a pretty legit album. Decemberists, Arcade Fire, Neko Case, Civil Wars, Glen Hansard... and yes, even the Taylor Swift songs are pretty good. Maroon 5's contribution was also really surprising, and not typical for them at all. The only song I don't like is Kid Cudi's. it doesn't fit with the rest of the album. here's the full track listing: "Abraham's Daughter" - Arcade Fire "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder" - The Secret Sisters "Nothing to Remember" - Neko Case "Safe & Sound" - Taylor Swift featuring The Civil Wars "The Ruler and the Killer" - Kid Cudi "Dark Days" - Punch Brothers "One Engine" - The Decemberists "Daughter's Lament" - Carolina Chocolate Drops "Kingdom Come" - The Civil Wars "Take the Heartland" - Glen Hansard "Come Away to the Water" - Maroon 5 featuring Rozzi Crane "Run Daddy Run" - Miranda Lambert featuring Pistol Annies "Rules" - Jayme Dee "Eyes Open" - Taylor Swift "Lover Is Childlike" - The Low Anthem "Just a Game" - Birdy
  15. here's a video of Welcome To Jamrock from the concert: http://www.fuse.tv/2012/04/exclusive-watch-jack-johnson-and-damian-marley
  16. I got 331/500 at Reckless yesterday. Plain brown sleeve, plain white label... But an amazing album!
  17. this will be my first RSD (first year I have a TT)... how busy are the stores in Chicago usually? assuming Reckless is the best place to go, but also the busiest?
