  1. I still haven't received anything yet... I wondered if I was the only one. I sent them an email two weeks ago asking for an update and I never got a reply. Pretty bummed about this.
  2. It kinda feels like Dustin is pulling a reverse David Bazan here. Rather than offending all his Christian fans (like Bazan eventually did), Dustin is offending all of his non-Christian fans by being so vocal about his faith. Funny thing is, when Bazan flat out bashed God, Jesus, and everything revolving around Christianity, I still loved the art he created. In fact, I love it that much more because he's so open and real about what's going on inside of him. I don't agree with Bazan's findings on Christianity, but I will still support him because he's an incredible artist. It boggles my mind that people wouldn't do the same with Dustin.
  3. The classic "every Christian must be like those Westboro Baptist idiots" response. This is like saying all Muslims are terrorists. It's ignorant. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think abortion clinics are ever mentioned in the bible. Stoked to hear a few more tracks off of this.
  4. Hey dude, I've got the Topshelf RSD black pressing /200. I know shipping will suck, but if you want it, let me know.
  5. I enjoy the look of my clear splatter / translucent records a lot more because of the acrylic platter.
  6. The OM5E is 5gm. The 2M is 7.2 gm. Because of this, they're telling me I should technically get a heavier counterweight based on what comes with the Debut III: Supplied counterweight cartridge weight 3,5 - 5,5g Pro-Ject Debut: 65g counterweight, cartridges 3.5-5.5g Pro-Ject Debut: 75g counterweight, cartridges 6-9g That's just based on what Pro-Ject says, but if multiple people on here say I don't need one, than I'll hold off until I can hear it with the stock counterweight. No reason to spend money if I don't need to. I'd still love to see somebody do a proper video of changing out a cartridge.
  7. There are, that is true. Not every cartridge is the same when it comes to installment and alignment which is why I was looking for someone to do a "how-to" with the 2M Red. The shop may do it, but it's 45 minutes away and I don't want to drive an hour and a half away just for them to do it. It's something I'd like to know for my own personal knowledge.
  8. I just purchased a 2M Red after having the intentions of getting the 2M Blue when I walked into the store. The store owner went down the specs list with me and showed me how little the difference was between these two cartridges. He also told me the Ortofon rep told him the biggest difference between the two was the lifespan of the Blue. Not sure if you've looked at the specs list for the 2M series, but you can check it out here. Apparently sound quality is very similar. I've never heard the Blue, so my opinion is solely based on the Hi-Fi shop owner I bought my Red from. He suggested I either get the Red or the Bronze and skip the Blue altogether. Hope that helps in your decision!
  9. I'm surprised nobody has posted this yet... This song kills me, and something about seeing this studio cut just puts it over the top for me. So freakin good.
  10. I think we're gonna have to wait until the week starts, the forum is pretty empty right now. For the record, if one of you hi-fi guys wanted to make a video of installation, I'd gladly paypal someone $5 or $10 for it as long as they post it on here for everyone to see. I think it'd be great for the forum (for those of us that have never swapped out a cartridge), and it could possibly go under the intro to hi-fi sticky that gets quite a bit of traffic. Just a thought.
  11. Which variant? I'd love to buy it for cost. I wasn't able to get one when it went up for sale.
  12. Hey guys, I've taken my receiver into the shop because it's been acting up, and while I was there I decided to pick up a new cartridge to replace the OM-5E that came with my TT. I've never changed a cartridge before and I was curious if anyone had a "guide" for something like this. I've tried searching google and youtube, but I haven't found a decent instruction guide to make sure I'm not installing this incorrectly. Like I stated in the title, I've got a Debut III and the Ortofon 2M Red. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me!
  13. Unless I'm mistaken (which is possible), you can still order a DC - Swiss Army Romance box set through the webstore. It's $144.84 with shipping.
  14. Grabbed on of the loot bags. Sometimes it's just fun to get surprised. I figure if there's stuff I'm not into, I can always trade it to someone on here who'd want it.
  15. What am I supposed to put my misprints in? If I'm already going to buy a blank jacket to protect the records, why not have a proper jacket for it? It's like getting a proper jacket for a test press that didn't come with one. Doesn't seem that ridiculous to me.
  16. Just got mine in the mail today from Furnace. No invoice, just records. Also, I'm stoked about having covers for the mis-labeled records. I was thinking that maybe I'd make a well-planned, poorly executed box set for the mis-labels that leaves glue residue on the new covers in order to match the original covers. I'd also make it slightly too big to fit into an Expedit in order to match the frustration that the original box set offers. Let me know if anyone is interested in that offer. Maybe Sapst and I can offer a bundle package!
  17. If I need to skip a meal at Taco Bell in order to pay for the egregious shipping charges, so be it. I don't mind the pricing and I absolutely love this album so I'm down to pay $24.50. After all the licensing fees, production fees, shipping fees, material costs, and all that jazz, I don't have a problem with these dudes wanting to make a little bit of money in order to put towards the next album they do. After all, they did put time and effort into making this work. If this was some label-less band and licensing wasn't an option, I'd be a little more skeptical. As it is, I don't see the issue. However, everyone is different and I can appreciate that. Either way, I'm just stoked to finally be able to have this! Also, I like having different variants. Nothing against doing an all black pressing, I just love having options, especially if I think it fits well with the artwork.
  18. THIS is what bundles are supposed to be like. The new album plus 2x 10" AND a lithograph. Definitely worth the $50 price tag. Stoked for this! I really love the aggressive sound of the new song. i can't wait to give it a listen and hear the "story" of their eventual demise / hiatus. Such a bittersweet deal.
  19. Which package did you want? The standard record or the record and the 7"?
