  1. I do this with my fiance all the time. Credit to her, she's learned I don't mess around when it comes to watching movies / tv shows. I don't casually watch things... It drives me crazy if someone is talking during a movie so she saves all questions and conversation until after the show is over.
  2. Hahaha, I never even noticed that to be completely honest. Very good question. I haven't talked to her in couple years. I'm getting married in June so I won't have any more ex-girlfriend stories after this one. Except... I was hanging out this girl a few years back when I lived in Baltimore. She was alright, but nothing special. We had plans to meet up at this bar downtown at 10 and I went down there around 9 with this other girl friend of mine to chill and hangout until she got there. 11pm rolls around and she still hasn't shown up, meanwhile, my friend and I are a few drinks deep and she decides to let me know that she has feelings for me. She pushes me up against a support beam that was in the middle of this bar and kisses me right there on the spot. At that exact moment I get a tap on the shoulder and turn around to see the girl who I was supposed to be meeting there... It was one of those moments that you see in a movie where you get this awkward feeling in the pit of your stomach and you just hope they move on to the next scene, except, there was no next scene. I felt like a douche. Needless to say the girl I was supposed to meet left and the my friend and I both talked (at a later date when we were less intoxicated) and decided that we just being friends was in our best interests.
  3. When I lived in Hawaii (2007-2009), I dated this asian girl for about a year. Very attractive with a rumored history of infidelity. Anyways, got engaged. About 3 months into the engagement she decided to sleep with a tattoo artist in NYC. Broke it off... Fast forward 4 years and she's now married to Anthony Raneri. Needless to say, I'm waiting for the day when I can say, "I know who this Bayside album is written about."
  4. I really enjoyed this! This was a ton of fun even though I didn't make it out of the first round of the playoffs. Can't wait for next year! Thanks to everyone who participated!
  5. You can pick it up on tour if you don't want to contribute to the funding.
  6. This is Malcolm Reynolds. I got him as a 12 week old puppy from a shelter here in town. My soon to be sister-in-law adopted his little brother. He tried to die on us a day after we got him... Wouldn't eat or drink water (vet said it was a nerves / shock thing) and because he was so small his blood sugar got reallllly low. Eventually I was able to get him to eat corn syrup and get his blood sugar back up. It was really scary as he was throwing up every 90 minutes. Luckily he recovered just fine! Also, I know I'm bias (as we all are when it comes to our dogs) but I think I lucked out because not all chihuahua's are cute, IMO. He weighs about 4.5lbs and he's not bulgy-eyed, sickly skinny, shaky or yappy. Just a handsome little devil that likes to tip over trash cans, eat cat poop and play fetch with his 6"frisbee. This is the day we brought him home. One-ear flop. Sitting with his uncle (my mother-in-law's dog). Fighting with his brother. Smokin' a stick. This is the most recent picture of him. He's a year and a half now. Still has the ear flop. Last one. A quick video of him playing with his favorite ball. http://instagram.com/p/a6U_Kwr2mJ/
  7. Agree with everyone else. Park Ave is the place to go. Fantastic record shop. If you're looking for older classic rock type stuff (they have more than classic rock, it's just what they're known for) Rock and Roll Heaven is also a pretty decent place. Not sure what your musical tastes are so I wanted to throw that out there...
  8. I've never understood why this rubs people the wrong way. If this were (fill in the name of your favorite artist) you wouldn't have a problem helping them fund a new record because of what they meant to you. Obviously you like this band enough to listen to their music, but not enough to help fund the album. That's cool too! If you're wanting to buy the record, but don't want to support the crowd-funding campaign, wait until it's been funded by all of the other fans of the band and buy it from them on tour or off of their web store for a lower price. It's a win-win for everyone! Also, a vinyl only option will be going up within the next few weeks, so you won't have to spend $100 to get the record. It will most like be $30 with standard artwork (you won't get the exclusive jackets the $100 option offers) and a digital download.
  9. Also, if you wanted the test press package but didn't get to jump on it before they sold out, make sure you're following them on Twitter / Facebook as there is a **possibility** there will be another round of tests being added to the mix around the same time as the "vinyl only" option. Just a heads up in case you're interested.
  10. There will be a vinyl only option going live in the coming days / weeks for roughly $30. This will give you the standard artwork (not the exclusive pre-order artwork) and a digital download of the album.
  11. Super stoked on these. A lot of childhood memories from these movies. Definitely will be picking these up. My gf will think I'm getting them for her, which makes this decision full of WIN.
  12. I can't believe I haven't posted in this thread yet... I'm a terrible friend/customer. Sorry! Grant did the Chris Staples - American Soft jackets for me and they came out absolutely amazing. I HIGHLY recommend his services. He's a great dude, good communication, fantastic product. I couldn't have been happier with the jackets he made for us. Do yourself a favor and get some cool jackets made for the tests / one-offs that you have sitting in your collection. It's totally worth it and you won't be disappointed.
  13. Totally agree. TMID is such a monumental album both lyrically and musically... I can only imagine what would've transpired, but I believe that Further would've become MUCH larger than they became. Still a fantastic band without Chris.
  14. Dude, that's absolutely sick! You're wife is amazing and I'm super stoked for you brother! I hope you'll have a nice camera with you to take some shots of the memorable night. Also, I'd hit up Staples and see if he knows a place you can crash. He's still in Seattle right now and may have some connections for you. So happy for you!
  15. I would absolutely be interested in doing this for my Bazan / Pedro the Lion collection. I'd love to hear that he's still doing these.
  16. The new album, titled You Were Never Alone, is absolutely being released on vinyl. I've talked to Matt and Toby about it and it's definitely happening. As far as their back catalog, they've been in contact with with Capitol Christian and are working on licensing some of their back catalog for release on vinyl. It's not a definite (I REPEAT, IT IS NOT A DEFINITE), but we've talked and they know there is a large amount of their fanbase who want The Weak's End (a re-issue), The Question, I'm Only A Man, In Shallow Sails and possibly We Do What We Want on vinyl. Obviously IF it happens it won't all happen at once. Trust me when I say they know there's a desire and they are absolutely doing everything they can to help make all of this happen.
  17. Didn't Topshelf have an issue with this on another record? Or maybe I'm confusing them with another label... Can't wait to get this. I've been holding off from listening to the MP3s so I'm stoked that this will be here soon.
  18. I picked this up today at my local HT. They had 3 copies so I bought all 3. I'm keeping one for myself and I'll ship out the other two for $30ppd (cost+shipping) to anyone who missed out. All of them had very slight corner bends... don't think the employees know that you're not supposed to jam as many copies into a rack as possible. I can ship them sealed or with the records outside the jacket. I've had friends on VC grab an extra copy of something I missed out on before so I wanted to return the favor! If you didn't get a chance to grab it when it went up online, today is your lucky day. Shoot me a PM! Both records have been spoken for. Good luck to everyone else who's looking to grab this!
  19. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Further-Seems-Forever-Twothirtyeight-7-VINYL-TEST-PRESSING-5-SUPER-RARE-/171203587418?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item27dc876d5a I wish it wasn't $60... These two bands have influenced me more than anyone else. Just wanted to share in case someone else felt the same and had $$ available.
  20. Don't buy that off of Amazon. If you go to an actual Ikea store you can get it for $39. (Ikea Expedit) If you're looking for more space than that upgrade to the 8 space Expedit. That's still under your $100 budget. That'll fit everything but tall-ish box sets (Death Cab for Cutie - The Barsuk Years... for example).
  21. So this is the New Year... and I don't feel any different.
