  1. So many things I want... BN, DC, Emery, FSF. I wish I had a bigger bank account.
  2. Drummond's stat line over the last 3 games... 20.5 PTS, 18.5 REB, 1.5 BLK, and 4 STL. To average that, even for a week of the season is ridiculous.
  3. I love watching Drummond play. The dude is a monster. He's still so young, but he's going to be a fantastic player.
  4. Best: Anthony Davis - I know I took him in the 2nd round, but the dude is a monster. On top of him averaging a double-double, he blocks 3.9 shots a game and shoots 84% from the free throw line. Worst: Larry Sanders - The dude was terrible in the first few games and he's been out for most of the year. Pickup: Andrea Bargnani - He isn't the typical center, but he scores 15+, gets a handful of rebounds, hits a few threes and has good %'s.
  5. I contacted customer service after I received my package, which was the same day that I received the email stating that one of the records wasn't shipping. They told me that everything happens instantaneously, so there was no way to notify me that I wouldn't be receiving my record because it had already shipped by the time that they knew the record was "sold out." I'm just slightly confused because you think they would have known that the record was sold out and my entire order wasn't going to be fulfilled when they were packing my order up... It's not like they didn't look down the list of what I was receiving and say, "Yep! Everything he ordered is being sent!" They told me there was nothing they could do and they were sorry for the inconvenience. I'm not taking a shot. Great prices. The customer service dude was really polite and apologetic. I'm just bummed that they didn't notify me before they shipped my order out. I would've rather cancelled everything because the 7 inches I ordered were only an add-on. I didn't really need them, just thought I might as well order while I was getting the El Ten Eleven record. The fact that I found all of this out after my mail lady handed me my package was pretty frustrating. It's certainly not worth fighting about. I was just sharing my story.
  6. All of my 7" records came in a bubble mailer with two pieces of cardboard protecting everything... also, I didn't find out that the El Ten Eleven record I ordered wasn't coming (which is why I placed an order in the first place) until after my records showed up. Pretty bummed on the terrible customer service. While the prices are alright, I probably won't buy from them again. I feel like you should be notified if your order has changed BEFORE it's shipped to you, but that's just my thoughts. Now I'm off to find another copy of the self-titled El Ten Eleven record.
  7. These look fantastic. Simple design that doesn't make you look like a douchebag for wanting to display a few records with awesome artwork. Once I get done moving, I'm certainly going in for 4 of these.
  8. Thanks! I thought about picking up Blake and then you beat me to it. He's been a HUGE assist / 3pt guy the last few games. We're actually going to touch on him with this week's ESPN Fantasy Basketball podcast. I'm gonna see if I can sneak in the VC name somewhere.
  9. I'm rocking a 2-0-1 record! Still undefeated! Here's hoping I can keep the streak alive.
  10. Chris Staples (Twothirtyeight, Discover America) has released a comp called After The Beep: A Compilation Recorded on Phones. It's completely free and includes songs from Staples, Andy Hull (Manchester Orchestra, RAGC!), Denison Witmer, Telekenesis and more. Staples' song, Cindy, Diana, Janet, Wanda is also available on the American Soft vinyl we released earlier this year. Here's a short description of the idea... I've been thinking, if a song is great you could record it on a walkman, or whatever is laying around and the soul of that great song will be communicated. It doesn't matter what kind of paper a great book is printed on as long as you can read it. Thats the analogy I always use. Anyway, all these songs were recorded on cell phones and nothing else. I have many very talented musicmaker friends, so thanks to them for participating. Please share with your friends and thanks for stopping by! Also, special thanks to Dog On Fire for making the artwork. It's at least worth checking out cause it's free! http://chrisstaples.bandcamp.com/album/after-the-beep-a-compilation-recorded-on-phones
  11. I appreciate the Firefly reference... good to know there's another Browncoat on the boards.
  12. That Defeater - Empty Days, Sleepless Nights test w/ the rejected C/D side would be sooooo freaking rad to have.
  13. I voted for foldover with the thought that it'd be a little less-expensive than a regular jacket. I didn't want to drop $40 on sleeves, but knowing that this will be $23-$28, I'm down for whatever the group consensus is. Also, count me in!
  14. I just got mine in the mail from SRC... clear. Was hoping that it was red when I saw the LIMITED EDITION COLOURED VINYL sticker. Totally got my hopes up.
  15. I'm grabbing this when the XB1 comes out. I'll be on quite a bit (I hope). My little brother and I usually play in the evenings after he puts his kids down and I get home from work. Hopefully I'll see some of you guys on!
  16. That sucks man... Losing a pet is super hard. I'm really sorry for your loss.
  17. Definitely interested in this. I'd love to have something legit to have these in.
  18. That probably came across as me throwing you guys under the bus, and that was not at all my intent. Apologies if came across that way. We talked about a few of their managers and how one of them in particular was an idiot... not sure if it was the one you're referring to, but I know the band definitely would've loved to been a part of it. It sucks you guys couldn't have hooked up on that, but obviously you put forth the effort to include them. That's part of why they left T&N and are doing everything themselves from here on out. They want to be able to have that connection with their fans and be more involved with their music. They're really sweet and genuine dudes. Having someone act as an irresponsible middle-man between you and them really screwed 'em.
  19. I work with a lot of the talent on a daily basis (Scott Van Pelt, Ryen Russillo, Michael Smith, Jemele Hill, Linda Cohn, Robert Flores, Matt Berrie), and none of them are faking their opinion when they are off the air. Colin Cowherd, Skip, and Stephen A. are the three most polarizing figures at ESPN, but I truly don't think they're trying to rile people up. They really believe the things they do, which is why ESPN paired up Stephen A. and Skip together... They have vastly different opinions on most topics, so it makes for great TV. FWIW, all of the talent I've met has been incredibly polite and none of them have this "do you know who I am" attitude. Some are less talkative then others, but that's just their personality.
  20. Congrats dude! Definitely enjoy this moment and realize that this is about you and your soon to be wife. Nobody else matters here (even the soon-to-be-mother-in-law, she's already had her wedding, she doesn't need to steal yours). Have fun with it bud!
  21. I think that's a fantastic idea, it's just hard from a logistical point of view. Here's part of the problem for a small label... I just shipped a record to Canada today and shipping was $11. I charged $10 for the record and $5 for shipping... so I only made $4 on the transaction, which doesn't even cover the production cost of the album (I lost $0.50). I also shipped 3 records to the Netherlands and shipping was $22. They paid $30 for the 3 records and $10 for shipping, ($40 altogether), so I made $18 minus the $15 it cost for production. That's only $3 of profit. It's impossible to take the money you made from the last record you pressed to help you pay for the next album you want to press if you're doing things like that... I basically try to break even on international shipping knowing that most of my orders come from the U.S. It sucks, but I think it's important to get my artists music into the hands of their fans. The problem is it's not a smart way to run a business if you ever want to be successful... It's a great idea, it's just hard for a small label to make it work. Hopefully that point of view helps shed some light on everything.
