  1. I placed an order for 2 of both FOBs and the PATD and shipping to UK wasn't so bad considering the vinyl itself was so cheap. Curious to know why folks are doing this and how? (noob question etc etc)
  2. If all 10 year-old boys (like my son) had £50 pocket money a week, then this would sell out before it even dropped. Wob wob wob.
  3. Was convinced that he'd mentioned slipmats in his Twitter feed (I thought he'd canvassed for opinion on the possibility of producing some), but can't see it now. If enough people tell him he may oblige!
  4. Quite a few completed listings for $19.99, then some current listings with bids up to $45 and a BIN on the relisted 3k for £69.99 - does this qualify for entry into the eBay craziness thread ? Some people losing their shit over this *bootleg*, lol.
  5. Oh man, I seriously hope your source is good\reliable\able to influence a low dealer price
  6. Thanks for this. Just ordered the Paradise LP with slip jacket thing for me (£16.50 inc P+P from Universal isn't too bad, is it?) and the other box thing, which might be a good Xmas present for someone.
  7. But how did you melt the cheese and crisp up the bass ? This thread is confusing...
  8. ^^Ah, right. That was the other incident I was reading about that they wouldn't play at the event because there were black members in one of the other bands. Wow, something as minor as that makes you cancel a show and blow off all your fans? Imagine when one of their daughters comes home with her Nigerian boyfriend? lol
  9. I think it may just depend on the buyer (the store's stock buyer) about what they want to stock from all their distributors - they might just take a few and slip them into the stock, unknown to the higher level management (maybe?). In the indie store I worked in we used to get offered bootleg CDs all the time as 'Japanese imports' or some such guff. My boss didn't really catch on that they were unofficial until I told him, he just liked that they were cheap! HMV also used to stock countless bootleg mash-up 12"s in their stores and blatantly illegal 'white labels' of 4 classic house or hip hop tracks on one disc. Everyone likes to dance around the law a bit; edgy innit ;0) But in this case I agree it does seem a bit odd when you do a search for channel ORANGE in the RT store that you get illegal and official next to each other.
  10. Eh? Nope, £25, why do you ask? Is that what someone's paid?! Wow, they're sure going to feel daft when it gets released officially :/
  11. Like I said: Maybe you've had a different experience, but I've cleaned hundreds upon hundreds of records by immersing them fully in warm soapy water for approx 30-45 seconds. Zero issues.
  12. if you Google Condemned 84 and 'racist' and 'fascist' and 'violence' and 'riot', you get results like this: http://skunxcomeback.blogspot.co.uk/2009/09/condemned-84-face-aggression-1988.html http://www.anarcho-punk.net/viewtopic.php?t=6000&f=31 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condemned_84
  13. Very stoked for both. Got excited for a second thinking that Jonny Klimek was the Klimek that did Listen the snow is falling (fave ambient album of mine), but it's not! This film and Life of Pi might put some of my faith back in 'blockbusters'. Might.
  14. Perfect tips, thanks all for this. The other thing that's worked for me on a reasonably bad warp was resting the record in a really hot, shallow, bath and then taking it out and applying the weight\pressure once the vinyl is heated\pliable. Seems less "wooah" than putting in an oven Never had any issues myself with the labels (coming off, getting soggy etc) if that's a concern.
  15. I agree. First noticed this from Mute with the M83 album, same deal; heavy vinyl with spare plain inners. Thanks for the tip, sounds good already
  16. The note on RT says "NOT CURRENTLY IN STOCK - SHOULD DISPATCH WITHIN 7 WORKING DAYS". I got a bootleg copy from them last week and while it was in the post I found out the genuine was pre-ordering. I sold the bootleg without even listening to it.
  17. Rough Trade in the UK have both the boot and the official up for pre-order: http://www.roughtrade.com/site/shop_results.lasso?search_type=advanced&search_terms=channel+orange
  18. Hey, these boards should be like therapy; no negativity man. Peace and love with respect for all
  19. OK, there's enough of a buzz in this thread to seriously check this album out tonight. Been hearing good things on Twitter too. Thanks guys.
  20. As Muttly might say, "Sassafrasharaggin...grrr". Still, £20 off one for myself is still quite a good cancellation, sorry, consolation prize. They didn't have to do that. Shame, but expected I suppose.
  21. Hey are you looking to burgle us or something At the moment I seem to have gone mad, so I'm looking at about £250-£300 a month ($400-$480) - but records are more expensive in the UK
  22. thinking about cakes. nah, vinyl really :)
