  1. OK, Heavenly updated their Facebook page. "You heard right! King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard are releasing a new album titled 'Paper Mâché Dream Balloon.' The album follows 'Quarters' which was released earlier this year. We will be releasing the new record in the UK and Europe, hoping to make the release date of November 13th. Our pre-orders and full announcement will be up next week, keep your eyes peeled." 'Hoping to make the release date' - i.e standard pressing plant woes. Interested to see if they plan on a variant or just standard black vinyl with a jazzy cover.
  2. Not sure what the deal with Heavenly Records is but they're really dragging their heels on releasing their PO. The UK+EU link on the http://kinggizzardandthelizardwizard.com/site just goes to the US PO, and on the Heavenly site itself the link to KGatLW goes to http://danny/ (Danny works for Heavenly). Cryptic...
  3. It's up (back up?) for pre-order currently - http://www.roughtrade.com/albums/96157
  4. I'm in the UK so all my records arrive via Royal Mail footmen delivered on a plump satin cushion scented with rosewater ps those King Gizzard LPs I was talking about came in *actual* pizza boxes
  5. Noticed this on the site: "WE DO OUR BEST TO ASSURE THAT YOUR VINYL REACHES YOU IN THE BEST POSSIBLE CONDITION, BUT GIVEN THE FACT THESE ARE BEING HANDLED AND TRANSPORTED WORLDWIDE SMALL CORNER DINGS AND MINOR SEAM SPLITS MAY OCCASIONALLY OCCUR. IF YOU'RE A COLLECTOR WHO REQUIRES MINT CONDITION WE RECOMMEND PICKING UP OUR RELEASES FROM YOUR LOCAL RECORD STORE." Fair enough, and at least they're being open about it, but still pretty lame considering, in my experience, the vast majority of distributors\labels\bands also ship worldwide with adequate protection and no-brainers like shipping vinyl outside of the sleeves etc. If I was getting complaints about dings and splits from customers I'd improve my packaging. Hell, all my KGatLW LPs from Flightless arrived from Australia in pizza boxes completely mint; it's really not that hard.
  6. Appreciate you posting; I'll pick this up for my daughter (*cough* for me too *cough* ), thanks! I really value VC cutting through all the crud to just give you the basic info about releases that seems to get drowned out\confused on the internet. Having a very wide taste in music I fully support all genres of POs being posted here. Thanks again.
  7. Couldn't find any UK\EU stores selling or pre-ordering so panic bought from Amazon Marketplace - http://www.amazon.co.uk/House-Balloons-VINYL-Weeknd/dp/B011IOGYL0/ref=mb_oe_l
  8. This is turning into a bit of a farce now. Spoke to Piccadilly Records (PR) and they said that someone at the distro was getting a severe kicking for offering that release to stores as it was a Rough Trade exclusive. Side issue is that PR believed the RT stock was left over tour merch, so wouldn't have been 300 anyway (? unconfirmed). I cancelled my RT order when PR put their PO up, which I'm now gutted about as RT has sold out. RT won't reinstate my PO even though I emailed them like 20 minutes later. Standard type of response from RT tbh. But then good news, www.hindsband.com has been updated to include international shipping (yay!), but shipping to the UK is $24.50 per item (wtaf?!). I give up. I'll just wait for the LP.
  9. It did say white vinyl, until they pulled it from pre-order Distro just told them they won't be getting it in after all. Sucks very bad.
  10. Also available at Piccadilly Records - a far superior store imo http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/prod/Hinds-VeryBestOfHindsSoFar-LuckyNumber-104972.html Only £6.99 there, compare with Rough Trade's *cough* exclusive for £8.99 (which looks to be sold out now).
  11. Yeah, a bit annoying that they keep saying they'll send worldwide (I asked), but you only get US options (and presumably shipping prices) when checking out. If I get clarity I'll post.
  12. You're the most beautiful girl in Hackney y'know? Young Turks admitting "a few copies" of the deluxe were faulty - https://twitter.com/youngturksrec/status/613453805963866112 Got mine today so will play tonight.
  13. For the UK peeps. Indies only coloured vinyl now in at Piccadilly Records - http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/prod/TameImpala-Currents-Fiction-104096.html Cancelled my Universal Australia order asap.
  14. Only really got into John Grant with Pale Green Ghosts, but that was an awesome album to get started with. Very much looking forward this, more than anything I can think of so far this year.
  15. New Maribou State LP, which is out already, is worth a listen if a mix of SOHN, Burial and Zero 7 sounds like your thing - http://ninjatune.net/release/maribou-state/portraits
  16. Holy Fire was a big album for me (ahh, the drums and the box set sold out less than a week after release, once everyone lost their shit to it and realised it was a must have. I ordered the box set for this album with the quickness as I don't want to regret it when it's gone. Would like to see them live again, especially as this LP purports to be pretty aggressive, but as they're local lads tickets for the home shows always disappear so fast.
  17. Just thinking about that time a baby fell into the gorilla enclosure of Jersey Zoo.
  18. Thanks for the heads up, quite a good first track. Synthetica was a massive LP for me. Very excited about this one. Will be paying attention to the limited editions, if they have any. Was annoyed to have missed the 3d viewer box thing for Synthetica.
  19. Easy buy for me. Interesting pairing. The Tangerine Dream\JMJ collab too.
  20. The Fiction Records UK webstore doesn't have the coloured vinyl as an option: http://shop.fictionrecords.co.uk/*/*/Currents/4MEN0000000 And the pre-sale just went up on a number of UK websites (Banquet Records, Resident etc) with no colour option. I know the Facebook page advises that it will be available worldwide, but you could take that as meaning that it is available worldwide now (i.e you can buy it from the Australian website). I've gone for an order from Australia just to be sure anyway. I find it pretty irritating when labels\bands aren't crystal clear about this sort of thing tbh.
  21. Two exclusive tracks on the Icelandic version of the LP ('Backyard' and 'Winter Sound') http://recordrecords.is/vara/of-monsters-and-men-beneath-the-skin/
  22. Holy. Shit. This is bum tinglingly good news! Was listening to Belfast literally half an hour ago. Thanks! These are the reissues that matter, where there is serious demand and not all that crud shat out for RSD.
  23. I love that I have to come here to find out this finally got pressed on vinyl (thanks VC), when I follow FOB on Twitter and subscribe to the mailing list with zero comms Worries me that the pressing quality might be real shitty but what options do you have when you have a collection to keep?
