  1. All you guys that missed out could start calling them Dearth Grips. You know, once you got your humour back an' that
  2. If you got stiffed on the gold, this great little UK store has some - http://www.resident-music.com/productdetails&path=7746&product_id=32866 - might be pricey for you, but if you really want it...
  3. Here you go - http://www.discogs.com/Seu-Jorge-The-Life-Aquatic-Studio-Sessions/release/6242963
  4. mmm, seller on Discogs states, "Black vinyl [sic] or Clear vinyl or Random Colored vinyl (you can't choose, depending on what's in stock when you order this record)" says bootleg to me.
  5. Great news about I-Empire and really looking forward to TDW too. Would dearly love some UK distros to get the AVA vinyl at reasonable prices though. WDNTW is £19 ($30) in the US and £35 ($56) in the UK Sometimes worth it to order from the US but then there's the inevitable customs fees and postal-damage roulette.
  6. I just got a mail telling me that I got an orange vinyl, as long as I'm happy to pay $16 shipping to the UK. One 7". $16 shipping. I can ship 2xLP to the US for $16. So anyway, at least FE will have another spare copy to sell to one of you now. UPDATE: seems it's a heavy pressing with a massive folded poster sleeve, which accounts for the weight. Shame. I could have lived without both of those things.
  7. Sandbag are constant source of irritation for me (Sandyballbag maybe?). They're a kind of store front for artists\bands to sell through and they handle all the purchasing\shipping palaver. They're forever shorting items, sending the wrong items, inadequate protection (no cardboard stiffeners, 2 7"s in a jiffy bag, that kind of thing), damaged, delayed etc etc. The customer service is cold and unsympathetic. They are the worst by far and I buy ~20-30 records a month online. I try to steer clear of them as much as I can, but they also are sometimes the only place to buy the vinyl for a particular artist. Thanks for listening
  8. Think that limited version is gone from everywhere now (apart from here). Word of warning, don't buy from the Arca\Sandbag shop. The blurb on the page advises, "Limited edition deluxe vinyl, includes exclusive 10", with Arca material unavailable elsewhere or digitally. This vinyl edition of only 500 copies is sealed in a hand numbered PVC bag." However, they do NOT have this for sale. So if you select Vinyl from their drop down, you will get standard. Guess which version they sent me...
  9. I read through this thread when trying to find out information about these 're-released' Akira LPs, so felt it was only right to post the response from Geinoh Yamashirogumi for posterity: "-----Original Message----- From: Geinoh Yamashirogumi [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 06 August 2014 11:37 To: Jason Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re:Akira LP bootlegs Mr. Jason Thank you very much for letting us know about the illegal AKIRA LPs. We have been aware of these illegal copies and already have notified the company in Japan managing our copyrights. Your information is precious and we will inform the copyright managing company of additional sites. Thank you again for your kind mail. With best regards, Geinoh Yamashirogumi " So, for the UK at least, if you purchased from any of these sites then you have a bootleg: http://boomkat.com/vinyl/1073102-geinoh-yamashirogumi-akira-ost https://bleep.com/release/50614-geinoh-yamashirogumi-akira-original-soundtrack http://www.normanrecords.com/records/147694-geinoh-yamashirogumi-akira-original-motion-picture-soundtrack http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/prod/GeinohYamashirogumi-AkiraOST-Binyl-96098.html http://www.resident-music.com/productdetails&product_id=30778 http://www.banquetrecords.com/VJ1001DLP;jsessionid=CB19C46B7B37D5157490EBC3E9D2DADB http://www.juno.co.uk/products/geinoh-yamashirogumi-akira-soundtrack/536433-01/ Just for info, I asked if they were official or not. It was Geinoh Yamashirogumi that responded with the term 'illegal'. Cheers.
  10. This shipping method is currently unavailable. is burned on my retinas....
  11. And here's why: "What singles Amazon out as a consumer-facing tax avoider is not just its size and market power, but the fact that its whole business model appears to be built around tax avoidance as a way of competing on price." Party pooping link here It's difficult. For me, ordering Stoker from Amazon in the US works out £10 cheaper than the UK stores I've scouted already. Kinda hard to be all ethical when you're essentially only able to purchase half the vinyl you want to because you're 'doing the right thing'. When the price difference is that high, I'll go with the cheapest, whoever it is (I did go with Amazon in this case). If the price is ~20% difference, I'll go indie\national\physical store. Anyway, slightly OT, cool story bro, funny gif, etc etc
  12. 4x12"s 2xCDs and a DVD for £50 is a pretty good deal IMO - Seahawks, Weatherall and Blanck Mass remixing too = *thumbs up*
  13. And 50% off?! Is that right? WTF?! http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Music//Angels+amp+Airwaves+-+Love+Album+Parts+One+amp+Two+Vinyl+LP-315639.jsp
  14. Ah damn, was going to suggest Juno in the UK - http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/473507-01.htm But it says they're sold out. If you sign up to get an email alert when it comes back in that might be a good option for you - I do this a lot and have about a 50% success rate at a second time score. Shipping is still going to kill you though probably :/ Cool story bro (Oh, wait, that comes after) I got my own black vinyl from SRC on Friday and I can honestly say my jaw dropped slightly when I played them at decent volume - outstanding sound. Absolutely one of my prized purchases over the past 10 years, good work SRC
  15. I chased this up the other day by co-incidence as UK stores had it in stock. The label mailed me back to say that their offices were badly affected by the hurricane and they were only allowed back in a week or so ago. I got a mail to say mine had shipped on Friday (I'm UK)
  16. Paul White's - We Three Kings is fun: http://onehandedmusic.com/2010/12/paul-whites-christmas-we-three-kings-mp3/ Anything else christmas related has me rolling my eyes so hard I wear them out.
  17. Everyone, start hoarding tinned goods and woollens right now. The infrastructure of your country is about to collapse under the weight of internet traffic following this announcement (that's a +1 from me BTW and, finally, a 180g Burial pressing)
