  1. Melody Supreme is my local spot and I was out of town when he had those AFP and Union Chapel releases. Dang. Anyone get extras of either or know of anywhere else online to grip a copy?
  2. One of the best of the year so far. Can't get enough. Age Old Tale. Goddamn. Sup elroy.
  3. Record is pretty solid after one listen. Very mellow and Jeff sounds like he's whispering on a lot of tracks. If I Ever Was A Child and Locator are both really great. Common Sense is weird Wilco which I love.
  4. It is the weakest album since the return of the original trio. Not bad by any means, but it didn't jump out at me like Beyond, Farm or I Bet On Sky.
  5. Jealous of your 'Chop collection! I have Mr. M, Nixon, Live at Merge (phenomenal), Turd Goes Back and a handful of 7"s. Almost pulled the trigger on a few of those older ones, but I always chicken out. You can tell Kurt was influenced by his HECta project for this record, or at least The Hustle. I imagine the rest of the record will be more of the same. So stoked to hear it. Also my FLOTUS t-shirt already shipped.
  6. Don't think there is a band more in need of reissuing their back catalog. The Nixon reissue was a nice treat, but I'd love Thriller, Aw C'mon/No You C'mon, How I Quit Smoking, OH (ohio), Is A Woman, etc etc etc Also I enjoyed Mr. M for what it was, which, to me, was a poignant and touching tribute to Vic Chesnutt, Kurt's best friend. Band is at the top of my list of bands I need to see that I haven't had the opportunity to yet.
  7. Out November 4 via Merge. One of the best bands in the universe. http://www.mergerecords.com/lambchop-announce-flotus-and-share-the-hustle 2xLP or 2xLP w/ t-shirt
  8. Can't wait to get my copy. Probably tomorrow. No idea what variant I ended up ordering. Whatever was in the Kung Fu store.
  9. Dang, glad I saw this thread. Didn't see anything about this anywhere - FB, email, etc. Grabbed a Murky Web edition. Stoked.
  10. Listening to a digi copy of this for the first time in years and forgot how awesome it is. Super nostalgic for me. Lots of memories coming back that I haven't thought about in forever. Hitting the spot. Looks like it exists, but is OOP or whatever. If anyone has a copy they are willing to let go of, please hit me up. Willing to pay a decent amount, or offset some costs with some records from my label if interested. Thanks!
  11. I hope so, ready for this release! I'm just glad it didn't go up while I was overseas the past two weeks.
  12. 2/26/03 2/28/03 3/1/03 (attended) One big YEM sandwhich. Was at 8/10/04. Other than the Birds that show is ROUGH. Those two Great Woods shows solidified my decision to not attend Coventry.
  13. Band is fucking amazing. I'm going out on the road with them as their tour manager in the fall. Dates are coming very soon, but it starts on 10/14 and will go through mid-November. Leg 2 will start after the new year. 10/23 in LA w/ Bon Iver and Patti Smith is the only announced date so far. Ordered the deluxe vinyl immediately to get the bonus LP, but they sent me the files for Heart Like A Levee and it is a really beautiful album. Can't wait to hear it on wax. If you liked Lateness (shit, if you have liked ANY Hiss records), you will enjoy this one. Probably the best one yet.
  14. Can't wait for this release. Gonna be overseas when it goes on sale most likely. Hopefully I won't miss out on that variant! Either way, super psyched for this release.
  15. Man, glad I got lucky that all of my copies were fine. Bunch of bummer-esque reports about this - missing LPs, mislabled, off center... Sucks.
  16. Um, so this thread is the bomb. Glad it was bumped, never seen it before. Big Soul guy here. Slowly picking up more and more stuff here and there. For old school, Sam Cooke is probably my favorite. Love anything Staple Singers-related (Pops, Mavis, etc..). Love Eddie Hinton. Love James Brown/JBs/Fred Wesley/etc.. Love Funkadelic a lot as well. Super cosmic. Syl Johnson is a huge one for me as well. Dude rules hard if you're unfamiliar. Been really into soul comps a lot lately. Everyone should check out the Eccentric Soul series from The Numero Group. Lots of amazing gems with stellar information, artwork, photography, packaging. That whole label is amazing. In addition to the Eccentric Soul series, they also have a bunch of other series' as well - Good God!, Cult Cargo, Local Customs, tons of other great reissues. lots of incredible stuff on there, and plenty of non-soul/funk stuff as well. Really wonderful label that has taken a LOT of my money in the past year or two. Tramp Records is another hot spot for tons of great forgotten funk gems. SO much great, gritty funk on there. Would order more stuff from them if they weren't located in Germany, but I hop on the Bandcamp page frequently just to stream. Also the Souvenirs of the Soul Clap comps from Jonathan Toubin via Norton Records are super sick. And man, Somethingvinyl, that track you posted above... That comp is nasty! Giving it a listen on Youtube right now and am digging the hell out of it. Thanks for the share.
  17. Looking forward to picking this up, and ultimately seeing them again at the Lockn' festival. Would not be surprised if this was just standard black, as the Phosphorescent Harvest colored pressing was atrocious and I think they got a lot of grief for it. Everything they've released since has been on black - that RSD 12" and the Betty's Blends Vol 2. Regardless, band is awesome, and this is one of the releases I'm most excited about this year.
  18. Whoa, cool. Wild album. Haven't listened to it in forever.
  19. Man $27 is steep. Not sure if I can pull the trigger just yet. Band rules tho. Maybe I'll cave.
